Portugal says yes to depenalization of abortion
If it is a crime or not, it´s not an opinion, it´s an objective matter and depends on what the legislation says. In my country it is, altought the criminous hardly gets charged. Wether it´s something morally aceptable or not it´s a different story and that´s what we should debate...

Portugal says yes to depenalization of abortion
And what does it has to do with the aborption issue? We don´t need religion to dictate our moral values, but that doesn´t mean ANYTHING that is forbidden by religion should be legalized. Aborption remains a morally repugnat attitude, and it´s coward and people who commit this type of thing are repugnant for me and I don´t want to have them in my social circle.

Portugal says yes to depenalization of abortion
Well, then what about the depenalization of killing and stealing, cause those are among the 10 commandments and we need a state free of any religious influence...

The Open Door - Billboard
This week the album is out of the USA Top 40 - # 42. But at least it had an increase in sales. God, they need to do something with this album, they can´t expect the album will hold on the charts without anything new on radio, tv, etc.

Billboard Album Chart
If this song does well in USA it will be good for them cause they need some cheesy non-urban song to singalong. I think her album might become a steady seller like Corine Bailey Rae.

Children film sex on their mobiles
Is this stuff actually frequent in the UK? Or do the papers just take 1 or 2 cases and make a carnival out of it?
-
Children film sex on their mobiles
Really? Isn´t Cuba a piece of heaven on earth? How did we go from teenagers filming sexual acts to discuss capitalism/socialism?

Children film sex on their mobiles
I don´t think we should blame individuals Aguilera, Spears and Hilton, but the whole media system they are in. Paris and Britney were once like their young fans too.

Children film sex on their mobiles
I have sexual education at school when I was like 10 years old, and I think it was very inapropriate. I think sexual education will teach them how to use condoms, how to avoid getting pregnant, and stuff, but somehow it won´t stop them having sex and filming it if they want.

All That I'm Living For - Scrapped as Single
I think Amy´s post was kinda right, because this week Lithium is #24 on USA bubling under chart - it´s a sign cause it wasn´t listed anywhere until this week, when acording to her the song was added to radios.

[The Disgrace Of Lithium]
Well, I think you exagerated a bit... Fallen has a lot of sing-a-long songs but it´s far from being a c**p album, and not matter how good are the "hard rock" Evanescence, I think Bring Me To Life is always going to be a classic... And I don´t even consider Paul McCoy´s participation a bad "rap" - it´s just normal rock singing. I´m glad they didn´t do a song with Snoop Dogg or Jay-Z, Paul McCoy is fine and he comes from the same scene. The fact this album is not such a mindblowing sucess is not something worryng... Most acts who have a huge debut don´t have such a sucessful followup. In fact, many of them flop very badly. Compared to other acts who are following hugely sucessful albums, Evanescence are doing Ok. Just look at Christina Aguilera, she sold less with 5x more airplay (I know it´s not pertinent to compare Evanescence and Christina). Plus, what about the Amy statement that Lithium had "just" been added to radio stations? Is this the reason why the song was failing there, and is there a chance if will finally start charting?

holocaust remembrance day
But if someone says a white man has a smaller pen*s than a black men, or a jewish man has a bigger nose then white men, is it a crime? In fact, most serious researches have come to the conclusion the size of human brain varies acording to each etny, and also female´s brains are considerably smaller. However the size of the brain is not necessarily linked to intelligence, and I understand people have a reason to not publish these type of reasearches. I remember Mel Gibson also stated that the holocaust never existed, or somehow was something much smaller then traditional history says.

Norah Jones - Not Too Late first week sales prediction
And Not Too Late has moved up # 2 from 5 on the midweeks... See? Not the disaster it was looking like.

Norah Jones - Not Too Late first week sales prediction
Because people prefer artists who switch genres and producers after each flop... And again, these people who listen only to performatic artists know NOTHING about music, and everything who doesn´t have a coreography or is manufactured by some giant producer of the pop scene is considered bland. They would all be happy if Dido or Norah Jones hired Timbaland, Pharell, The Matrix, Guy Chambers, Linda Perry, Scott Storch, or Xenomania to produce their new music, instead of doing it by themselves. They want a mixbag with a Scott Storch ballad, a Pharell or Timbaland r´n´b song, a chick rock track by The Matrix and a big ballad by Guy Chambers, then mix it all together in one CD and call it "masterpiece" and aplauds the artists as being "diverse", when in fact the record is nothing more then a Now! compilation which happens to have the same vocalist on every track. In the end, it means nothing, because Linda Perry, Guy Chambers, The Matrix, Timbaland will be remembered in the future as sucessful songwrites and producers, hitmakers like we remember Stock, Aitken and Waterman from the 80´s, and the artists who did only dance and put their voices to the "diverse" material will be shadows like Jason Donovan, Rick Astley and Sonia. People will always remember artists who make their own thing, not artists who just go with what´s hot and chance producers to better suit the charts taste, that´s why Pink Floyd is still important today and Boney M are nothing.

Norah Jones - Not Too Late first week sales prediction
Because they are good and superior to 95% of other mainstream females... Other millions of people agree. Not everyone who listens to music is atracted only by artists who do coreographies and wear like clowns, and polute gossip tabloids. I know loads of people who like Norah and Dido simply because their music is amazing, and their taste goes from heavy metal to psy-trance. It´s usually people who only listen to mainstream pop like Rhiana, Beyonce and Britney who think that singers like Norah and Dido are boring, but then it´s doesn´t matter because these people know nothing about music...

Norah Jones - Not Too Late first week sales prediction
This dinner party thing is bull$h!t. Dinner parties play any type of mainstream music, it´s just not play it too loud and you can put Robbie and Anastacia on a dinner party too, and even more leftfield acts. This dinner party thing is just an excuse for people who can accept that some artists are more popular then other simply because of their music, and not any promotional gimmick. I read reviews of artists like Dido and Norah Jones and they were always positive when the artists were starting... Only when they became selling millions magazines felt the need to slag them off cause it was type to move to the next 15-minutes-of-fame act. And they remain with positive reviews in foreigner countries, where magazines and brainless people have not labelled them "background music". Of course music becomes background music when it sells too much or it´s too popular - the Beatles songs are always played at dinner parties and soundtracks. Anything who sells in obscene quantities is going to be played everywhere anytime.

Norah Jones - Not Too Late first week sales prediction
And did I criticize him? Read my post again, I just think it´s ironic that anyone who is a fan of Robbie Williams can criticize other singer for being boring, since Robbie´s big worldwide hits have been big love ballads... I´m not denying he make some good stuff in the past, but just because he has "upbeat" songs doesn´t make him musically superior to someone who makes chilled music. Rudebox might not be apropriate for dinner parties, which doesn´t make it superior to songs that are played on dinner parties, and it doesn´t matter if it is upbeat, it´s melodical and lyrical poorness is what makes it boring to me... Otherwise 90% of classic music would be despised as "boring", because the song are not upbeat and are not apropriated to be played on clubs and on MTV´s shows.

Norah Jones - Not Too Late first week sales prediction
This is the good side, but the bad side is this "hot bands" won´t last for more then 2 albums in the mainstream, in the old days bands had to release 3 or 4 albums to stablish themselves, now they debut with one hugely sucessful album because NME hypes them, and then the 2nd sells just ok and in the 3rd they are over.
-
Norah Jones - Not Too Late first week sales prediction
Most people who say that haven´t even heard her records, and they hate her for selling millions more then other more "cool" females (="divas").

I don´t trust the midweeks, last time it was #105 on midweeks and ended up # 43 on the actual chart.

holocaust remembrance day
Holocaust is an animal sacrifice offered to some deity, which was an habit among jews a few thousand years ago, and ironically, this name was used to describe their own death at WW2.

Which Pop Princess Had The Best Debut Single?
Why didn´t you include Nelly Furtado´s I´m Like A Bird? Certainly better then all this stuff, and written by Nelly herself. Why are Jesscia Simpson and Mandy Moore on the list? The list is flop, floppy american singer far from being a pop "princess", and the latter I don´t even know.

Norah Jones - Not Too Late first week sales prediction
Whatever, Norah is in a higher degree then this other, I admit my predictions failed, but Top 5 is not bad at all, and she will be #1 in tons of other countries including USA... not bad, she never had massive airplay.
