To me it´s just a bunch of people who got disapointed with the traditional religions of their families and now are desperate to find another type of spirituality, seeing UFOs, aliens, ghosts everywhere. I suppose they demand a lot of money. Don´t undestand why they use the word "church" tough.

Still I´d like to hear him sayng Mohammed was just a pervert who had 12 wives and married a much older rich woman, and has done no miracles apart from fooling millions of people... And Mohammed´s ascension was nothing but bull$h!t because there is no "heaven" in the sky and he would have died because of the lack of oxygen in the space if he ascended... I´d like to see him sayng this on an interview on a magazine or TV show, and then watch the reaction of the islamic world.

The fact is, knowing Madonna´s past, you can´t help thinking she does everything for more fame and promo. Maybe we´re expecting too much from her, not one person alone can save the world. But if she wanted to raise awareness she could do it much more using her lyrics, videos, her public image, etc, instead of just taking away 1 kid who has family, and bring it to America (or wherever she lives) to have a celebrity life. She could do it like U2, but they never adopted a kid (at least, if they did there was never such publicity around it).

1 or 10 million for Madonna is nothing... This is nothing. She isn´t doing anything exceptional at all taking a small tiny fraction of her giant possessions. Why does she want to adopt a kid who HAS parents, when there are so many who don´t have one? Is it because she wants the CUTE one, rather then an ugly starving motherless african baby?

We´re going from one extreme to another, in the past people were forced to belong to a particular religion, right now religion is totally uncool and if you have one you have to be ashamed of it and you cannot express it. I´m wondering if there will be a day when people will be forced to reunite in secret for religious services, like it was in the begining of christianity in the Roman Empire... I don´t even think a cross is really a religious simbol. At least where I live it´s like a fashion jewelry, and I have seen people who wear it and are not really religious. A real religious simbol is when someone wears a t-shirt with "jesus christ" written in giant letters. I´ve seen this very often. Not so often I saw people wearing t-shirt with atheist phrases. I admire both these people for voicing their convictions, whatever it is.

You seem to think all religious people are just ignorant people who think the world was actually built in 6 days by some old men with white hair, and then he just picked some dust and made a white blue-eyed Adam. This is just a minority. Most people are inclined to believe today that the universe came from a big explosion... which is a theory first proposed by a Catholic priest, what an irony. We´re lead to believe in that because people more intelligent then us have said so, even tough 99,9% of the people in the universe can´t properly understand how it happened. Ain´t it funny that one of these "more inteligent" people to whom we have delegated our opinions was a Catholic priest? And he didn´t thought for a second leaving his religion?

True, but then how many of these people would stop going to church or mosque and do charity work? How many of the atheist do that? Shouldn´t we stop watching movies or listening to music to have more time to do charity? In fact, many churches are envolved in social and charity work... It´s just that you don´t see that on newspapers, articles about paedophile priests seem to entertain people better.

Blaming religion for all the wars and disasters of history is like blaming science for the atomic bomb and all the weapons. I don´t see a point. There are people who kill because of the football team they support (it happens often in my country), people who kill for money, oil, and even people who kill because they think people from other religion/no religion do not deserve to live... And most usually, people who kill for money or power but claim to be killing because of God, just to justify it in front of the poor and ignorant... Science develops every day, and along with cure to disieses and new forms of energy, it develops every day a new kind of weapon or a new type of substance to cause depence and destroy lives... it makes no sense. Science itself doesn´t have moral values. It´s an instrument in our hands, which we can use for the good or for the bad, and it´s stupid to think science will be a "substitute" for other things, science only develops stuff, but does not teach how to use it or why use it. I´m all against religious fundamentalism, but going against everything that is about religion, or say that there is no "excuse" to have a religion (as if this was a fault?), or call someone an "ignorant bigot" just because he believes/preaches a religion is a type of fundamentalism too. Einstein also didn´t believe in God, but he didn´t need to go all against anything that is related to religion just to prove himself as a genius. It would be stupid for such a famous and charismatic person to go on and take away the only hope of millions of people. There are millions of people in this world who never received enough education to understand evolution or the big bang, many who probably even heard about this stuff and can´t even read... These people don´t have any hope on their state, on science (which they don´t know/understand), politics, etc, and they are all marginalized. At least once in a week they can go to a place where they feel important, where they are not ignorant, uneducated and poor, but just feel like equal human beings for 1 hour... Or even rich people, who despite having much money, are in fact miserable, who take this weekly hour to center their lives on something other then achieving more money/sucess/fame.

I don´t think it outsold Escapology worldwide... In the long term, I think Greatest Hits will eventually become his biggest worldwide seller. Anyway, he´s one of the most stable artists in terms of sales and there is no significant increase or decrease in his sales numbers atrough the year. But I do think Intensive Care must have been hugely overshipped.

Is she actually making a contest to chose the kid she will adopt? She coould make a reality show on MTV for starving kids who want to have a superstar mother?

Sorry, but I don´t quite understand, these women wearing veils in Britain actually use that model who covers the entire face? Here in Brazil there are very few muslims (less then 30,000 in a country of 180,000,000) but I thought ALL muslim women had to wear veil, at least the one which covers the hair. Maybe the others are just ethnic muslims but not real muslim believers/practicers?

A country where probably 70 to 90% of the people are baptized christians, but less then 10% are practicing believers. I think it´s not impossible that one day there will be more practicing muslims in Europe then practicing christians, specially on the most developed countries.

If Madonna wants to adopt a grown up children from a 3rd world latin country, here I am. But seriously I think she does that more because of herself then because of the kid. Anyway, she can´t do much damage taking a children out of a miserable situation, in which she´d probably starve, right? I think anyone here would do this "sacrifice" of leaving starving Africa to be raised by a multimillionaire family, not matter how much pain this money and fame can bring... * Let´s not forget that when this kid becomes adult Madonna will be pretty much a fossil like Cher, so I doubt the media will be all over her like now.

Did I say olympics is a christian tradition? I said WESTERN, which is not the same. When the Olympics began, christianity and islam didn´t even exist, so it makes not difference if Athens is close to Turkey, cause Turkey certainly wasn´t islamic at that time. Plus, Greeks were as influent in our western culture as christianity, if not more... We didn´t heir their religion but most of our culture and philosophy is based on the greeks. The culture of a nation is not based only on religion. Even if Greece is geographically a eastern country, the Greek culture is totally western. Like I said, it´s our western culture, and if minority groups cannot adapt themselves, then they should just not take part. There is a certain religion called Jeovah Witness which is present in almost every western country and cannot take part on this events because patriotism and defending a country is considered a huge sin, but you don´t see they complaining about that and asking the comitte to take off the national anthems and the flags from the event... they simply don´t participate.
