It´s a singles-only list, I suppose. Westlife sales are disapointing for a band who had 12 (?) number ones... Anyway, the album sales are much more important and I´m sure Weslife´s sales are c**p compared to the amount of #1´s they had. In the Music Week list of the decade (2000-2005), they appeared behind Dido even tough they have like 3 times more albums released then her.

Lol, Peter never killed anybody, the couple who died described on the book of Acts simply died because they "lied" to God. The book doesn´t mention the reason of their death, simply says they fell death. I wonder what type of "power" Peter and other apostles had, since christianity was always persecuted in the first centuries by the roman empire and the jewish clergymen, and acording to the "official" story, Peter died in a cross also (although he didn´t ressurect). Certainly not a great "benefit" from using people´s faith. He could have simply used judaism or the roman/greek religion if he wanted to make easy money/fame/power, not a religion that would lead him to be persecuted to death...

Well, you might argue that it´s all about Christian versus Islam, but you have to be a fool to believe that´s the reason... Well, you might be surprised, but one of the institutions that is most enthusiastic in the world about the big bang theory is... the catholic church. Before that, scientist thought the universe had always existed, now they know it had a beginning, and apart from that, science can´t explain WHY exactly it has begun... That will always lead people to the doubt: why the **** we exist, when we should simply not? Why is there a universe full of stars and planets, when simply it should be just dust or emptyness? Until science finds the answears for the crucial questions of existence, there will always be space for people to believe in God. While most people today think religion is a thing for the poor and uneducated people, there are many exceptions with some of the world´s brightest minds. Plus, it´s not only christians who think the universe was created by some "God", but almost any people that ever lived in this planet had this kind of belief, even the ones who where totally apart from out civilization. The only difference of course, is the fact that Christinas believe that not only God exists, but his word made himself into flesh... And that´s why every month of december we go to the shops to celebrate it. :) The final triumph of christianity is that human beings need a reason to be "nice"... Think of helping starving children, fighting for human rights, etc... In the end, if there is no God and we´re simply waiting for our death, then everything I do which is not to satisfy my own pleasure is a total waste of time.

It doesn´t matter where it came from, people use that as an excuse not to do it. Take what he says (suposedly) on the Mountain Preaching, that´s heavy stuff, good moral teaching and it´s violent to the ears. We don´t need to check back if he really existed or not, if you just read it you know everything would be better if you lived that way. I have read tons of religious and ethic texts in my life, I must say from Krishna, Buddha, to Karl Marx, and all of them have good things in them, but the only one who looks morally perfect in my modest opinion is Jesus, whether he really existed or it´s just a fiction. I just came to the conclusion that, if he never existed, the people who invented his story and wrote the gospels were damn intelligent and made the most perfect moral code of the history. If they just wanted to create a religion and spread it all the way, they wouldn´t have written heavy stuff, like "rich people hardly enter the Kingdom of heaven". If you read it carefully, there are several teachings in the gospel that attack directly our so-called "christian" civilization. I know the apocrypha is on hype now, specially after the da vinci code. The 4 good old "official" gospels might not be acurate but they are the oldest source we have about Jesus, and if we can´t believe them, we can´t believe the apocrypha either. If you read them all, you´ll notice the 4 gospels are classic literary stuff, while the apocrypha are silly and bad written.

Religion is always a tough subject, because it deals with some inner feelings of the human being. I think this thread is a good oportunity for debate, but each side should keep the respect after all. The thing we know is, 2k years ago something happened on the Middle East and that has been the most discussed happening of the history. One would thought that after 2 thousand years the dust would settle, but when you read the listings of the best selling books, the sucess of Da Vinci Code movie and book, and the fact that there´s still millions of people who talk about it everyday, wether to criticize it or to support it, you come to the conclusion whoever started this stuff must have done something really right. I was born and raised a Catholic, even tough I detest the Catholic church and the way they deal with religion. Only a few years ago I started to really know more about the christian religion, but outside the Catholic Church, because what you do in the CC is basically worship statues and practice superstitious rituals, and you end up learning NOTHING about the message of Jesus Christ. I cannot prove the He existed, or he ressurected, but whatever, I am sure that if people actually tried to follow his teachments, the world would be a MUCH better place. And I am not talking about the religious teachments and doctrines, but about the christian way of treating other human beings. I understed that people today are so angry about christianism and the catholic church. Somehow, trough these 2,000 years Jesus name was basically used to create wars and prejudice, and it still happens today, but if you go to the source of it (the gospels), you´ll notice that none of these behaviours belong to Jesus´s teachments, so basically it is not HIS fault, but the fault of people who used his name. About the Garden of Eden, Adam & Eve, Noah´s Ark and stuff... I don´t buy these stories. I think with the current state of science it would be stupidity. But so do many of the christians today... Everyone knows that life evolves and the world exists since much more then 10,000 years. But if this is hard to explain to many of today´s people, then imagine people who lived 2 or 3 thousand years ago, and probably barely knew how to read. Basically, this was a metaphorical way religion created to teach simple people that the universe we live in is the creationg of an intelligent mind. I also don´t buy the though of some so-called christians who say everyone who does not have a religion or who has a different religion is going all the way to hell... Or even worse then that, people who think we should kill or destroy any other type of spirituallity that is not christian. But then again, Jesus has never encouraged that (if we can take the words on the gospels as coming from himself), and always teached the contrary. Again, it´s just people who misunderstood the whole thing or are trying to manipulate the masses using religion. Do you really think that George Bush, laying at his bed at night, prays to the God whose name he uses on his speeches all the time? Or do you really believe Bin Laden is someone who really loves his God? There is a huge difference between what people say and what people really feel on the inside.

How can this people call themselves christians? And why does Jesus has to be in a white horse, he never ride horses...

At last they have a loyal fanbase. Most of the artists who are big today won´t be able to reach the Top 100 if radios and MTV stop playing them. Plus, being Top 5 is getting easier for acts like these because the market is in it´s worst period, but fanbase acts will always sell the same, they don´t need occasional buyers.

Yes, I wonder how artists like Madonna, Britney, Anastacia, etc, have all released like 1 new album every 1 or 2 years, and Dido has only 2 in this decade, and STILL the biggest selling female of the decade in UK BY FAR!!!!

Argh, her personal life must have been a total $h!t. I heard she had a brother who died of AIDS. And she has several disieses, including Chron and being almost blind. Oohhh... God take care of her. But she always look so smiley and happy on the TV.

If Spice is really # 11 like you predict, then Dido´s No Angel will be Top 10, because it has OFFICIALLY outsold Spice. However, I think it will be a bit lower... Dido might feature in the Top 20 with 2 albums, as she was the only artist to follow up a hugely sucessful debut with a 2nd album which sold nearly the same, while most artists who have an amazing debut (David Gray, Alanis, Shania - even tough was not their 1st, but was their breaktrough) tend to fall more then 50% with the follow up release.

I doubt Beyonce will be # 1... This tune isn´t causing impact even in the USA, where every $h!t from her is sucessful... Failed to reach the Top 3 there.

Let´s be honest, their last album sold 300,000 copies, that not enough to generate interest in a label, anbd the tendency is to drop after each release...

It´s normal for an artist to have a big 1st week sales when it´s following a big selling album... B2B will sell between 80 & 90k first week, which isn´t that great.

Can I just point out that some of the numbers are wrong, and some are really doubtfull? LMFAO at Music Of The Sun supposed sales of 300k in Germany.

Except that all her albums combined worldwide have sold less then Baby One More Time alone...

It´s always the same excuses when these girls flop... When thousand of more talented artists sell more then her with much less exposure. Isn´t it better just to accept nobody is interested on the 10000th version of Jennifer Lopez...
