It´s playlisted on Radio 2 (I think B-list) and Capital FM.

I think it is, considering the overexposure of the song, and they´re a singles act... Top 3 is good for an act like Oasis, who will sell massively with their album.

Hahahaha only Top 3 for this crazily overpromoted and overrated horrible song... I wonder if the album has any shot at#1, given all the high profile releases in the next weeks...

Well, in the UK, none of the singles from Freak Of Nature was Top 10, and still that album sold around 1 million copies. Besides she only had 3 top 10 hits in her career in UK, and that never kept her albums from selling... However, I´m not seeing in the new song the "adult" appeal that her older tunes had. That might put her album buyng public off.

In the UK airplay chart, DBIL is up from # 63 to # 25.... yay... finally radios are playng this, but Radio 1 still haven´t added it to the playlist.

Yeah, but back then when downloads weren´t counted, or either were too small, it was relatively "easy" to have a Top 10 place, then drop like a rock. From now on it´s going to be harder.... I don´t think you can judge sucess based only on singles, their albums sales aren´t remarkable at all.

Well, it went back... at # 100 :unsure: At least this means the song has kinda stabilized, since it´s normal that the song starts to drop a few days after the release. I hope it can be stable until some REAL promotion is done, then it can climb higher. It´s still an embarrassing situation that this song doesn´t have a video, there was no TV performances or radio appearences, and even the cover of the single is basically a blue screen with Dido´s name on it. It doesn´t really look like they are promoting this...

DBIL is fallen out of the Top 100 on USA itunes... Some promo must be done NOW!

X-Factor and all this rubish reality shows have killed any excitment there could be in guessing Xmas #1´s... I miss the old times when the Xmas #1 was "the hit" of the year. Now it´s just a rush recorded track sung by someone who will probably be completely forgotten in a few months...

So it will not coincide with Dido´s new single anymore, neither the album (cause Dido´s was postponed to Nov 17th). Anyway, I wasn´t expecting Dido at #1 due to the complete lack of promo.

Why? You talk as if Girls Aloud was as big now as the Spice Girls in the 90´s. In fact, the reason why they never miss the Top 10 is because they usually release just 2 singles after the album is out, and they come up with a new album every year. Their albums never sell much, which guarantee there is some public left to put their songs in top 10, but they have a few singles that just scrapped the Top 10 and fell like rock.

That sucks. "Manufacturing delays" is just an excuse. Manufacturing CD´s is something that can be done in a matter of hours, so there was still plenty of time for a Nov 3rd release. The real reason, to me, is the fact the date was aproaching and they still had done no promotion. Maybe something went wrong with DBIL video aswell, wasn´t it supposed to be coming out?

In some countries, only the single is available, in others, only the album, for pre-order, and in others it seems like you can pre-order the album and get the single in advance. Amazing for Dido at #13!!! But how is the chart made up? Her single is not released physically yet, so it´s just downloads or airplay?

Well, I think it makes sense, cause when a new song is released it usually climbs after each update on the first few hours, but after the first day it tends to start dropping again or stabilize.

Does that mean that if I look at the chart updated at 1 a.m., those will be the most downloaded tracks in just 1 hour, and downloads that happened before 12 p.m. are not included on it?

Well, but if it´s selling without publicity that´s even more mertis of herself... Imagine if the song was played on radios and the video had already premiered, she could be much higher!

How often do itunes updates their charts? And what period does it reflect? I mean, if a song is #50 now, does this mean it has been the 50th most downloaded song of the hour, the day, the week????

It´s surprising to see Dido there, since she has almost no airplay and no video has premiered, no promotion started, and it´s been 5 years since she doesn´t have a hit in America!

Up to # 18 in USA!!!!!!!!!! It´s the most pre-ordered album in american itunes, despite being 1 month away from the release, yay!!!
