Rihanna - 2026 Predictions
No album and baby number 4 Mad it'll soon be ten whole years since ANTI.

Pretty much all of these songs except Billie Jean I could happily go my whole life without hearing again.

It's a banger!

Shakira. I DESPISE the other one, my Mum used to play it constantly

XMAS ● Amazon Music Original
Much as I've enjoyed this experience, as a fan I've had more than my Christmas fill from her now. I don't think I could handle any more.
-
XMAS ● Amazon Music Original
Hopefully they can coordinate everything well enough for at least another top 40 next time!

Diana Vickers - Once
It was RCA! I feel like what happened is they piled a ton of hype into the first single and the album which meant they both debuted at #1 and dropped down the chart like bricks, and whatever they released post-album wouldn't have had the same amount of interest. She deserved a lot better, but I don't think she was destined to last long

Diana Vickers - Once
Even charting at all would've been nice for the masterpiece title track She was in a difficult position though, 3 years after her first album campaign floundered and she had to release it without a major label.

Diana Vickers - Once
Have you actually heard each and every UK #1 between 'Once' and 'XMAS'? Also this song is amazing
-
Sabrina Carpenter - Man’s Best Friend
Is anything else happening with this era in terms of singles? I was kinda hoping we'd hear something by now.

XMAS ● Amazon Music Original
Amazing for the US! Especially when it couldn't register in Ireland or Aus.

Lily Allen - West End Girl
Kitty Palace 🤣

Friday Chart Predictions
My understanding is it was initially wrongly reported in news articles to be for 'Elizabeth Taylor', and in more recent ones has been reported to be for 'Opalite' - which is probably why AI Overview is displaying that.

Which has also been reported to actually be for 'Opalite'!

gooddelta ranks the UK No.1s of 1999
I was obsessed with 'Blue' at the time, but it hasn't really held up for me now (oddly 'Mambo No. 5' has though, I always kind of lump these two songs together). Were there ever any plans for a follow-up after 'Move Your Body'? I always found it quite odd they just stopped completely after that. The UK edit of '9PM' is where the magic is, that other version which seems to have almost erased it these days is nowhere near as good! Loved following this, thank you for all the fascinating commentary for each entry.

It's a remake of their 2009 #9 hit 'Said It All', so not exactly a new song. I'm not sure I can see that sparking much interest (or any)

Friday Chart Predictions
Whilst I agree it would ideally be nice to have a break of at least two years, if anything Folklore was made because of COVID (and arguably is what elevated her to the position she's in now)

Scene ranks the 2007 #1s
I quite like 'Transylvania'! Obviously it wouldn't have made #1 on its own as an existing album track, so needed that much less good cover version tacked on to it.

Friday Chart Predictions
It's probably because this year includes Boxing Day, whereas last year was tracking from the 27th onwards...

Iconic classic. She does have a few better than this for me but it's undeniable. One memory I have relating to this is our music teacher at school commenting when this was at #1 "Who on Earth would name their child something like Britney?"

JADE - Church
It's a shame really she didn't wait until about now to do the deluxe. Although I'm sure she was aware herself this would get totally swallowed up by Christmas anyway.

Eminem on this one

Kylie ● UK Chart Runs & Sales
I still love the Golden album, for me it's held up better over time than Disco (I wouldn't want another one though)
-
Zara Larsson - Lush Life
This feels like it's having a bit of a 'Murder On the Dancefloor' moment, i.e being a big hit twice many years apart.
