Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Vertigo
Yeah exactly, the other two don't quite cut it compared to that.

I do too (ashamedly) 🙈 Still, Primal Scream wins easily ❤️

Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Vertigo
I'm probably the only one who cares at this point but: Bit of a banger, can't help but feel it's slightly unremarkable though.

Chart Battle Rewind: Oasis vs Rihanna
To be fair, that's one of Oasis' better modern singles but 'Pon De Replay' is such a banger.

This is very true, but I mean to prematurely suggest a Lorde single is underperforming less than 12 hours after release when she has no real prior singles chart precedent is senseless even by their standards.

Aside from the big #1, her highest peaking single is #17 (and that one dropped away pretty quickly) so I don't know what kind of expectations you have here...

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
I don't mind it, but I always associate it with this advert that was on TV all the time as a kid and got really bloody annoying after a while!

'Party 4 U' is now #52 and not that far away from the top 50!

Neither really in all honesty, but maybe Ellie's at a push.

Lorde - What Was That
Fab! ❤️ I don't like everything she does, but Melodrama was a great album and this being not a million miles away from it is a good thing in my book.

Julian rates every 21st century Top 40 hit
Some really good ones this week! Love Shakira, Narcotic Thrust, Michelle Branch, Natalie Imbruglia, Darius, Doves, New Found Glory and Primal Scream. What a week! There was a really good remix of that Streets track kicking around at the time which improved it. That's one of Britney's worst for sure, I'm still baffled why it was chosen as a single. I guess she could get top 10 with anything at this point.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Vertigo
Yay! 'Relentless Love' hasn't really stuck with me in the end, but still hyped for more!

Mayhem ● 7th album
Amazing. I'd say this really feels like her biggest era since Born This Way!

To think @awardinary was just days ago branding her a one hit wonder! Probably shouldn't speak too soon

Song Covers SoundClash #35
Rita's version is a guilty pleasure for me and I think she actually made an interesting version of it! The Pete Tong one is exactly like gooddelta said, just the original with strings dumped over the top and I'd rather just listen to the original instead. (although in their original forms I do prefer 'Right Here Right Now' to 'Praise You')

Round 1: Year End Survivor #114
Basshunter, although those tracks by Arctics and P!nk are really not glimmering highlights of their respective discographies. Also, the Razorlight song is annoying AF.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
I don't fully understand the idea of an artist ruining another person's song like that. Like for example, Professor Green's version of 'Need You Tonight' is one of the most heinous things I've ever heard but I can just pretend it doesn't exists and listen to the preferred version

Chart Battle Rewind: Sonique vs S Club 7
Ooooooh I don't know. At the time I much preferred 'It Feels So Good' which I still love and is a 2000 classic, but over the last few years 'Reach' has really crept up - it truly goes off on a night out! I might need to come back to this. Or flip a coin.

Disease ● 2nd single
I kind of sidelined this a bit since 'Abracadabra' came along, but I'm back on it now!
-
Bedtime Stories ● Survivor Round 3
I'm gonna go with 'Inside of Me' I actually really like 'I'd Rather Be Your Lover'! I knew it'd be targeted soon though.
