The problem is (not to sound like Hadji) it’s a drive time show so they replay the same songs so the audience won’t be polarised by it hence huge dance floor hits and MOR songs in the chart for 20 weeks always get played every week so the passive drive time audience are familiar with the music. A Sunday afternoon chart show would give them less reason to focus on the above issues. Also, did they not do the same to the chart one year when the Teen Awards or something were on? Seems like they ditch it whoever something more important to them comes along.

Do they still release albums?

Who was on the presenter roster on TOTP by this stage? I know they had loads of guest presenter this era and Nicky Campbell did his final show in mid 1996 but did Goodier do any or was he just counting down as the sole chart presenter by this time?
