Songs seemed to rarely climb in the chart after Q1 1997 I noticed but we did have a lot of huge selling long running no1s still, was this just huge songs being released or had the continuous weekly turnover not been perfected until 99/2000? The Verve and Karma Police in the same top 10, doubt that would happen in 2025!

Beautiful Things is one of them songs that’s so consistent it’ll be there until December 🤣

The worst thing about it is that the chancellors team have repeatedly said this week that they don’t know how many people will move from PIP/UC into actual employment and yet they are just going ahead and doing it. This suggests it’s all about the stats being reduced and not about actually moving people into work that can work.

Yeh, at the start of this season I didn’t think we would be 12 points clear in April so hard to tell what will happen. I can personally see them all leaving including Allison, it’ll be like the summer of 1991 all over again ffs!

The Giver not getting much traction from being top of the two main Apple playlists this week, it’s actually dropped from 11-13!

Except it’s an absolute tune!!

So listened to the new album yesterday and there’s some nice tracks. ‘The Silence that Remains’ is 11/10 but ‘Lotus Eater’, ‘Trail By Fire’, ‘LA Runway’ and ‘More Than Life’ are all really strong. Especially the latter, that’s my favourite of the unheard album tracks, really great track!
