Yeh I have the Phil Spector album on vinyl. My favourite recent Xmas albums are the Goo Goo Dolls one from 2023 It’s Christmas All Over Again and strangely enough the Gary Barlow The Dream of Christmas one from 2021 which is fantastic. A mix of covers and new songs.

Hope Die on this Hill can peak in the top 10 before the Xmas rush!

Yeh I think Iceland had it on their Xmas ad and there was a new video released so it got played on mtv a lot more. It was always a radio hit each year anyway despite the low peak and Rea had hits in 86/87 as well, just musnt have taken off.

Not sure they are the best examples as both charted well before playlisting became a thing. Bobby Helms is a good example and the exclusion from Spotify at least of songs like Shaky, Slade and someone like Greg Lake.
