Soldier F cleared of murder on Bloody Sunday
It’s shows that the British army are prepared to use that force against people in a part of the Uk (supposedly part of the Uk). It also shows that the state will always protect itself, it’s still happening. But yes, governments have to be very careful in their reaction.

Can Reform win the next election?
The Seanad by election in south wales today shows the polls aren’t far wrong if an election was held today albeit a by election usually leads to the government taking a hit naturally. PC won with 47% Reform came a strong second on 37% albeit were said to be leading and Labour on 11% Tories on 2% So the left has to hope of coalesce around one left wing candidate depending on the seat and reform are in the 30-35% range!

Soldier F cleared of murder on Bloody Sunday
The judge had to make a not guilty verdict as there was no evidence beyond any doubt but after 53 years that was always going to be the case. Justice Lynch did highlight the terrible behaviour of the army on the day and bravery of the families though. Nationalists re-emphasised this and that ‘everyone knows what actually happened that day now’ while unionists reaction was predictable to insinuate that they dead were terrorists and the armies record was exemplary.

Soldier F cleared of murder on Bloody Sunday
What do people think of this verdict. Basically on the one hand justice has a timescale on the other hand the families have been so brave to campaign for this over the past 53 years. Soldier F verdict shows in reality there was no evidence (unsurprisingly) to convict him and evidence of beyond doubt. Evidence of course went missing and the British state did everything they could to defend their soldiers following this day.

Green Party the Reform antidote(?) thread
Depends what you call right wing, the current government is relatively right wing when you put all their policies on the floor. They believe you have to be right wing in government because they accept the narrative of the establishment. The only two REAL right wing parties on paper or for the said establishment are the tories and reform party and they are just realigning now. So they aren’t really splitting each other up. The only two real left wing parties are the Greens and a prospective Your Party but since the latter hasn’t had an electoral test yet it’s hard to tell whether they will be 1% of the vote of 12%. At any rate in a FPTP system it’ll not mean much depending on the spread of the vote. Then there’s the Lib Dem’s who are on as many seats as they’ve had since 1922 but can they build an electoral coalition to be in government, I’m not so sure. There’s old Labour reformy seats in the old industrial north who just don’t have a history of voting Lib Dem and I can’t see them starting now. Then there’s the question of are they right or left and again no one knows. Most likely they are just an alternative to Labour who as I said above are generally pro establishment centre righters. When Labour are in government they sit to their left when we have the tories they can play to the centre right.

Problem is the electoral system! It’ll just mean a right winger gets in if you split the votes!
