  1. Yeah, it's even too early to make a judgement on Beyonce and Britney yet.
  2. Leona at #35 is probably based on a few hours on iTunes only, maybe wait till about 8pm to make some decent judgements.
  3. I bet that #101 for Leona is based on about 30 mins of downloads in the early hours, I highly doubt it represents sales between midnight and 11am.
  4. Although Leona did get to #1 on Irish iTunes, but the UK is always going to be her stronger base. I don't think on the real chart she will be #1, but she could be close. She has a fanbase that will buy physicals as well as digitals so it should be enough for a high new entry and the song is not available on her UK album.
  5. Well it's nice to see some fresh songs on the iTunes chart for a change, hope they all become top4 on the chart by tommorow. I'm still expecting Leona to steam roll past everyone bar X Factor perhaps by the end of tommorow.
  6. I predict Leona, Beyonce and Britney will be top5 by the end of tommorow. It's obvious Leona will be #1 or #2 tommorow after a few hours on iTunes, it's a new song not on her UK album so her fanbase will rush out to buy it legally.
  7. Beyonce isn't going to be as big as people think this time around, with both single and album.
  8. Might be one of the best years for British female artists for some time on the Billboard top200, 5 British females are looking at getting album sales of 200k or more by the end of this year. They are all pretty much soul or r'n'b based vocalists, so certainly Dido and Amy Winehouse opened doors in recent years for these artists in America from Britain.
  9. Thanks. Poor Adele, just 1k shy of the top10. Hopefully Duffy will be certified "gold" soon. And Amy Winehouse is still holding the title for selling the most albums in recent years in the US for a British female artist, I think she may hold that title for a while longer, I don't see Leona's "Spirit" matching the sales of "Back to Black" now, it will probably sell another 150k per single before falling out of the chart.

Maybe Christina will get a boost with the recent release of the video to KGB, although I doubt it now, too little too late.
  11. Is this based on sales or chart positions? Because a lot of British cross-over artists did better in the US than UK if you base it on sales!

So I guess Leona's "Better in Time" has peaked at #11 then, now at #13.

If it wasn't for AC/DC she would be on over 200k and it would be decent although not spectacular.

I doubt X Factor will beat Hearsay
  15. It's a shame when these 'experts' like the guy from HMV have such short memories, the decade is the past 10 years since 2000, not the past 2 years! Personally I think the sales will decline next week quite drastically. And I am predicting about 350-400k by Sunday.
  16. Hope Adele is top10 in the real chart
  17. Huge drop for Oasis, doubt they will push 100k now, probably out of the chart next week. I expected Leona's total sales to be far higher considering she has been on the chart for ages, didn't expect Coldplay's sales to be so much higher, I guess it really is all to do with the first week sales and Leona's were pretty average for a #1 album at 205k.
  18. I knew Oasis would drop a lot, a 74% sales decline. The album will struggle to sell 100k in total.
  19. Any other music week sales?

It's not one of their best songs at all, but it's a stronger premiere single than previous album openers, so it's not a huge surprise it is #1 on iTunes.
  21. I am glad Boyzone didn't get higher than #4

What's with the obsession with the iTunes chart? The only indicative chart position is #1 on iTunes AND with high popularity bar. Other than that it can sometimes have no exact bearing on the real chart like for like.

Pink looks strong, maybe still #1 next week. Shows how iTunes is not the be-end-all though, considering The Saturdays are several thousand behind Geraldine in the official chart.
  24. I don't think anyone is buying the single because Gary Barlow co-wrote it, they are buying it because of PETER KAY and that's all.
  25. Oasis officially sold 53k for #5, but their last album in the US charted lower but sold 65k in its opening week. It won't push more than 200k in total imo.
