  1. Yeah, it seems to be losing the momentum of the cause, Haiti is not in the news as much now as say 1-2 weeks ago. People are fickle. I very much doubt it will sell more than 1million copies.
  2. Yeah, I doubt this will make waves in America, they have their own projects with helpforhaitinow. It's very much a British project with the likes of JLS, Take That, Cheryl Cole, Kylie etc on board.

Well I think JLS have Best Single in the bag, it was catchy and their fans will vote like hell. Could you say the same for other acts in that category? It's that obsessive fandom that sets them apart, why they have had some big singles sales but also some surprisingly high album sales, much more than any other British pop solo or group last year.

Who votes for Best British single?
  5. No you haven't, they have had 5 studio albums plus a GHs, which is a compilation album not a studio album.
  6. Did you not read what I wrote? It's the Sunday Sun, which is a Newcastle local paper, not THE SUN. And it's all well and good having thousands of people signing up for a facebook campaign, but I bet less than half will actually follow through and buy it, remember some people have lives!

But Ego will have sold about 100k in total today, so that's hardly bad at all. If it doesn't drop like a bomb the record company would be insane to drop them. The only time they need to worry is if they aren't getting top10s and not sticking around the singles chart for x weeks. They probably can pay off their debts through singles sales and pa's but I doubt each girl will make anything, but if they love what they are doing they'll continue.
  8. It's a local newspaper in the North East of England, I imagine gets a meagre amount of readers compared to the nationals.

If the video is quite good and they promote heavily, it should be top10. Unless potential buyers hold off for the album a few weeks later.

Wonderful? I think it's sold enough now, it's so overrated as it is :puke2:

I assume it is frozen because it's Christmas and nothing is open on Xmas Day, it would be an unfair advantage. And obviously there are staff involved with the upkeep of the service. Some of the songs currently doing well don't deserve any further sales, it's good they can lose some sales this week, call it karma.

The question is were Rage's sales too strong on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday to mean at the end of the week everyone in the top half jumps over them by 1 place?

I think the fact RATM is doing so well is a nice signal to the media that not everyone is enamoured with X Factor, and many people just watch it because it is so naff and that's a typical British thing to do. We're not all chavs and pre-teen girls who download anything that is shown on ITV1 for more than 2 seconds.

Simon fixed it/backed Joe from the start anyway. The contestant to win will always either be the pretty boy or the big voiced female diva. Groups will never win and people don't vote for the older singers.
  15. No more than 400k in the US and maybe 250k in the UK.

I don't think his GHs will sell too much, he hasn't exactly promoted much, but I suppose if you are not on X Factor then it's not considered good promo.

I don't think X Factor will sell as much as last year, the lead is not that big on iTunes, unless Jason sells over 100k.

Of course Queen Cheryl's track is better than everything on the entire chart combined...
  19. 576,046 Alexandra Burke – Hallelujah (Dec 27 2008) 311,887 Alexandra Burke – Hallelujah (Jan 2 2009)
  20. I'm glad Cheryl didn't follow the Sunday chart calculation of Tuesday midweek x 3, which would've been 130 x3 giving 390k. The real figure as it stands is way inflated for the quality of the song, but there you go... Alexandra's album sales aren't as high as I thought, Cheryl might sell double or even triple that next week.
  21. Well it's marginal seeing as Cheryl is a JUDGE on X Factor, the debut performance was on X Factor and that is her whole identity now. Sure, she's the first non-talent show CONTESTANT since Kylie to get these type of sales, but she's hardly independent of X Factor and its power. Technically Alexandra's "Hallelujah" charted on January 2nd 2009 with 311k so that remains the highest one week sales of 2009 so far. Cheryl probably will go down a few places for weekly sales before the year is up as the X Factor finalists, X Factor winner and maybe a surprise from SuBo or Leona could sell more. And I'm not that shocked because she was on 230k on Friday midweeks, and she was selling about 25-30k a day, so 250k on Friday and then a further 42k on Saturday, with people downloading more as they aren't at school.
  22. They pissed off Australians and Brazilians basically.
  23. Mel B also confirmed they were planning something on twitter and Emma said the same thing outside Heart FM today to a fan. And I seriously doubt they would do anything without Victoria as it wouldn't be a Spice Girls project but 4 ex Spice Girls coming together for something.
  24. I think I'll wait for midweeks for conclusive proof, iTunes doesn't represent the chart entirely.
  25. I think Get Sexy will just edge it though, they'll have a few thousand from physicals and I think they will sell more at HMV, amazon etc.
