It did help that Corrie had finished then.
  2. Big drop for Helping Haiti, not as big as people expected at all. And speaking of Cherly, I'm glad that overrated FFTL is finally out of the top40, like faecal matter that won't flush...

Who buys singles from amazon anyway?

Well I don't think she's doing amazingly well, just good. Very similar to Alexandra Burke. Parachute may not sell more than 3 Words, if it's anything like JLS "One Shot" it may peak too soon. Of course it helps that she's in the paper every day due to her marriage breakdown, plus she performed at The Brits and publicity sells.
  5. I don't know how Sugababes can be #3 then

Nothing like a marriage split when you have a single coming out lol

Well Sugababes must do if they are #3, despite being around #7/#6 on iTunes yesterday.
  8. Did JLS peak too soon?
  9. Sugababes might just have the edge because they have 2 other formats that have charted on iTunes.
  10. That's a bit of a strange chart, with The Saturdays back into the top20 at #16.
  11. I think Sugababes might just scrape the top10 with their physicals combined, but I think it will be very close at this rate.
  12. I'd say 550k this week, a further 250k next week and then half that each week. 1.5m tops I think.
  13. Add sales? What, about 250 copies?

Well I remember JLS's "Everybody In Love" raced to #1 on iTunes in a few hours on the Sunday but it didn't sell as much as we thought, there is no way of knowing how many downloads EHs will score despite rocketing to #1 almost instantly.
  15. Now that's a lineup unlike the b-listers and locally famous acts on the Cowell clip.

Although it's probably the difference of about 20 copies lol.

GA will have the most sales today (possibly tomorrow), if it's not top40 on iTunes by the end of today it won't make a dent.
  18. Colour me surprised judging by your signature.
  19. Yeah, it seems to be losing the momentum of the cause, Haiti is not in the news as much now as say 1-2 weeks ago. People are fickle. I very much doubt it will sell more than 1million copies.
  20. Yeah, I doubt this will make waves in America, they have their own projects with helpforhaitinow. It's very much a British project with the likes of JLS, Take That, Cheryl Cole, Kylie etc on board.

Well I think JLS have Best Single in the bag, it was catchy and their fans will vote like hell. Could you say the same for other acts in that category? It's that obsessive fandom that sets them apart, why they have had some big singles sales but also some surprisingly high album sales, much more than any other British pop solo or group last year.

Who votes for Best British single?
  23. No you haven't, they have had 5 studio albums plus a GHs, which is a compilation album not a studio album.
  24. Did you not read what I wrote? It's the Sunday Sun, which is a Newcastle local paper, not THE SUN. And it's all well and good having thousands of people signing up for a facebook campaign, but I bet less than half will actually follow through and buy it, remember some people have lives!

But Ego will have sold about 100k in total today, so that's hardly bad at all. If it doesn't drop like a bomb the record company would be insane to drop them. The only time they need to worry is if they aren't getting top10s and not sticking around the singles chart for x weeks. They probably can pay off their debts through singles sales and pa's but I doubt each girl will make anything, but if they love what they are doing they'll continue.
