It felt easier to predict. My biggest fear is Finland - I think they are likely show closers and everything is being put in place to get a good result, but I’m worried this wont rise above the other bangers in the semi (also keeping myself emotionally prepared for Monsters to crash out). I expect big difference between jury and televotes between Belgium and Austria. Semi 2 seemed far easier to predict. Hungary will gain enough support from televote and jury to get them in, not to mention strong dyaspora. Malta will likely just miss out but will receive the usual friendly jury votes albeit not quite enough. I think Sweden will walk this - Australia is a bit too safe to go all the way.

It’s taken a few listens but this is really clicking with me now. Easily the best out of the big 5 (nothing to do with the remaining four being between shite to unbelievably shite).

Great to see she's trying out new looks and also plugging away, it helps Lithuania is in the same semi. God I love this track - it's easily my 12 pointer for 2018.

I really like it but the vocals together in the second chorus are not working, so baffled how this will sound live. I think there's a chance this could fail to qualify (though not likely) as it carries a high risk that this may now work in execution.

I applaud! Another high class entry - glossy, well produced, lovely. Not sure how well those vocals gel though?

Gutting for Macedonia to be lumbered into Semi 1 as I think they’ll struggle again. Otherwise Semi 2 they would likely sail through. A shame, they deserve a break.

This is a very strong entry. Carefully done, I love the shift between the chorus and second verse. some though has gone into the song and production, not just a cookie-cutter entry.

Given its in Semi 1, they’re buggered. Might get a little support from juries but nah. I can’t see this even coming close to borderline.

I cant envisage juries nor public swaying massively towards this. I agree its Eurovision by-numbers from yesteryear. It's Ben or bust.

Benjamin Ingrosso and Renaida are my lock-in faves this year - LOVE them. I don’t think Renaida will come last either (I mean she’ll probably come 9th). Also have a weakness for Party voice. Even Samir & Victor haven’t disgraced themselves. Mariette is good in a 7/10 kinda way, bit like most, I’m disappointed and I think it’ll come around 5th (juries will be more enthusiastic I think). A Bitter Lullaby is truly horrific.

This is good if a little “text book”. It’s another top ten result although I think Australia will need to be a bit riskier if they want the prize. I agree, there is several for the win potentially. I do think Finland has the edge but the staging needs to be on another stratosphere.

I like the verses but the chorus is made worse IMO, it was half way here to being a dance-ish track but they decided to go the other way and make something that will most likely fall into a middle territory and basically come bottom 5. Annoying as she is clearly far, far better than this tepid song.

Might as well buy a return flight to Zagreb now. Slick but does almost nothing. No hook or anything.

I too loved Dance Alone but I think there's vast differences. Jana was an inexperienced performer, which came obvious on stage, the staging was terrible and the song isn't as strong as Monsters. I do get the anxiety though but I'd like to think they will have something spectacular for staging and she will close the semi final.

It’s a pretty poor Mel Fest this year (as I know has been documented umpteen times). Even the supposed saviour Mariette has only managed a 7/10 offering (its good, but not THE moment that was hyped to be). I have two firm faves: Dance You Off and All The Feels. Renaida is a stellar performer and although it’s no winner, I think it’ll do ok with the juries. Also (apologies if this is old News) she was Queen Poli’s stand-in for ESC 2016... hg0C_Z0hw74

Completely. This could be a proper bop, but that build up really hinders it. Still, for Cyprus, this ain’t half bad.

She had a post-show press conference and she was asked about changes to staging. From her reply, it sounds like they’re gonna review it for defo because frankly it bloody needs it - the song is absolute dynamite!

I have a liking for Queens but the performance enhanced its tackiness too much, so it was a two horse race from the get-go.

Every year I rely on that 11/10 track and I’ve had for three previous years. I’m relieved I have it in the bag for 4th year too! I don’t deny it needs more work live though, more drama. In its current state, I don’t see it winning.
