Totally agree - 50/50 split is, on balance, the best way to decide the winner. More often than not, jury and televote agree on the winner. This year was indeed interesting, but it's the law that is sod that Italy didn't win (I'm secretly VERY glad, I hate opera!). I also agree jury vote is there to put a lid on the novelty acts and IMO they voted a sublime top two this year!

Really enjoyed seeing the results pouring in while drinking (necking) a glass of red. A worthy winner and a fantastic result for Latvia! I have strong feelings Latvia will do very well tonight.

25th, I think Austria and Israel will make up the bottom two.

Just to share with you all, I was at jury final last night. Great show, ran smoothly and no vocal mess ups from anyone. In summary: despite the lack of representation, Serbia would've won the whole bloody thing if this was based on crowd reaction. It was sensational! Latvia - absolutely nailed it and this may surprise us all, despite other peoples views, I knew this would sail into the final and a top ten finish tonight won't be a shock. Sweden and Russia were on point, plus also a very strong reaction for Italy. Russia went down a storm, I could hear tones of booing but NOTHING compared to last year. On the flip side, Electro Velvet did well and it was visually pretty good. It did become apparent last night how bad a song it really is, it's so limp and the fact it didn't receive a strong response (despite the ever reliable amount of Brits there). If this gets out of the bottom three, I will be genuinely surprised. My final prediction for Saturday: 1 Sweden 2 Russia 3 Belgium

I think the following will qualify Ireland (will be saved by the jury and only just) Montenegro Malta Norway Latvia (it bloody better, given the ever shortening in the odds is a classic sign of a dark horse) Azerbaijan Iceland (a lot thinking this will DNQ, but this will comfortably go through) Sweden Cyprus Slovenia I think Poland and Israel will narrowly miss out. Israel will probably get ruined by the jury vote.

Can't really complain, all my faves are in... bloody Czech Republic though... yuck!

Interesting Sweden comes off lacking but we have seen this for real on MF so these rehearsal clips really don't give these performances any justice.

I genuinely hope Czech Republic don't qualify - sounds like an Eastern European Nickleback - YUCK! I don't think we'll be seeing them on Saturday... In actual fact, the entire first half of this semi is predominantly a heap of painful dross. Thank god the second half is a COMPLETE U-Turn!
