I'm not ruling out a top ten placing for this... though a lot rests on the performance. He'll need to tear the arse out of it on the night!

Of all the entries, I think this is the hardest to predict. It could literally end up anywhere!

They speak English very well there (so much so, they are considering making English an official second language!) so I'm not gonna worry, now I know trains run through the night between Malmo and Copenhagen! I'm there between Fri and Sun (though it's the Friday Jury Final we're going to... I was left with 2 single tix in the gods!)

Just been doing the very same! A bit faffy to begin with, then I found a very easy-to-use website http://www.rejseplanen.dk/bin/query.exe/en Anyone know what ticket to buy? One of those that allows me to move freely between Malmo and Copenhagen for 2 solid days?
  5. I'll probably get this all wrong but I'm hoping Slovenia jusssst about qualify (so long as she doesn't miss the notes and those dancers are shit hot! Wind Machine on max power will help also) First Semi-Final 01 Denmark 02 Ukraine 03 Russia 04 Serbia 05 Netherlands 06 Belarus 07 Ireland 08 Moldova 09 Estonia 10 Slovenia Second Semi-Final 01 Norway 02 Greece 03 San Marino (really!) 04 Georgia 05 Israel 06 Azerbaijan 07 Switzerland 08 Finland 09 Malta 10 Bulgaria
  6. I'm perhaps a Eurovision novice in that case.... we'll see though
  7. Do people really think San Marino won't qualify? I think it's this years wild card... I wouldn't even rule out a top five finish on the final night!
  8. I really really hope Slovenia qualify. Sandwiched between 2 very naff ballads will help. I just wanna see her do it live when I'm in Malmo!... Anyway I'll put my votes forward shortly, semi 2 will be tricky given the amount of tosh!

Gina G... Obviously. Francis Rufelle is a close second.
  10. SF1 Austria Croatia Denmark Estonia Netherlands Russia Slovenia Ukraine ---------- Belarus Belgium Cyprus Ireland Lithuania Moldova Montenegro Serbia Taking a stab in the dark with Lithuania, but confident about the other 9. SF2 Azerbaijan Bulgaria Finland Iceland Latvia FYR Macedonia Malta San Marino ------------ Albania Armenia Georgia Greece Hungary Israel Norway Romania Switzerland Very hard to choose, might get this completely wrong, most of the entries merge into a big messy meh so could go many ways on the night. I think Iceland and Romania will battle it out for the 10th place.

Not pandering to the gay demograph at all. Seriously, if this doesn't qualify I'll be livid!... But I'm confident enough it will.

A bit annoyed all my faves are in Semi 1, really want Slovenia to get through but it will struggle with such competition. Semi 2 on the other hand is terrible, there is only Noway which is any good (I'm not really into ballads as you probably gather!)

This is my top ten so far: 01: Germany 02: Sweden 03: Slovenia 04: Norway 05: Belarus 06: Ireland 07: France 08: Montenegro 09: Serbia 10: San Marino

The first entry I heard was Denmark and my instant reaction was "winner" (even tough I seriously dislike the song), seeing it's almost always the firm fave on youtube and tight odds, I'm sticking to my guns. Worth putting a tenner on and getting £40ish back anyway. Might put a fiver on Ukraine and Germany on just for kicks (would love a Germany win and I don't think it's entirely unlikely, even though their odds are suggesting otherwise).

Is it this? ijxk-fgcg7c I think this is a much stronger song than last years... nothing else in the contest like it, but it's sort of intriguing at the same time. A bit of a second rate Paloma Faith, could flop but could also do very, very well.

I'd say they are perhaps our best? Love City Groove is a little toe curling now, but back then it was a brave move. Imaani is a great song.

At the moment Sweden, Germany and Slovenia occupy my top 3 and these are the only ones I would listen to out of choice. Norway and Ireland perhaps would get some points (and for ironic/daft factor, Romania!)
  18. It was my first time on hearing it and I found it instant, as did my mate watching it with me. Perhaps we were in the minority but I think it's fare to say there is no overall winner at this stage (though I think Denmark will win.... sadly)
  19. I watched it and "You" was my fave - looks like Sweden will be getting my 12 points for the 3rd year running! I thought this sounded like the winner after hearing all ten (bare in mind I haven't watched any previous MFs), but was aware it wasn't a favourite. If this doesn't get a top three placing on the night, I'll be equally shocked and outraged!!! By the way, that "Heartbreak Hotel" was absolutely dire, like a cross between Pete Burns and Justin Hawkins - Terrible! Glad it god bashed into second place.
  20. I find this far more entertaining... ryjZjI-E024
  21. Well we are obviosuly holding out for a zero then... :D Popchartfreak is right, I think the BBC aren't fussed about winning, but rather send a well known name instead. The song is utterly unmemorable, how she performs on the night will have little to zero effect on the score... A bottom five placing is on the cards again.

I don't think this will have any problem qualifying. Chorus isn't great, but it's catchy enough to get the votes.

I couldn't abide Cascada at their peak, terribly naff dance music but not even with the passing charm to make it likeable. "Glorious" however is very hard to dislike. It just pushes the right buttons, in a very obvious and forceful kind of way - perfect for Eurovision in other words and currently gets my 12 points! IMO at this early stage, it's a 2 horse race between Germany and Denmark for the winner (although I'll be well annoyed if Denmark win).
  24. I have a vague recollection of watching the 1992 contest in a busy bar in Portugal and Michael Ball coming second, though I didn't quote know what was going on (my parents would always take me on an annual holiday around May time so the majority of Eurovisions in the 90s were normally watched in a bar somewhere in the Med!). 1993, however, was the year. I was (still?!) a big Sonia fan (I was just 9!) and I think it was that more than the Eurovision itself that interested me... however I fell in love with it and although the majority of songs are various levels of total naff, I just bloody love it and now I'm going this year!
  25. Defo can't forget mine! It was when Shakespears Sister "Stay" knocked off Wet Wet Wet "Goodnight Girl" from number one around Feb 1992 and being a proper giddy kipper! It was great to be just about old enough to listen to the charts and still be surprised the following week, before it all went tits up from 1995 onwards.
