A pretty shoddy list... struggled with this one! Unimpressed with the lack of support for "Lola's Theme". Perhaps faceless dance music doesn't resonate too well! +30 Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme +25 Lady Gaga - Bad Romance +22 S Xpress - Theme From S Xpress +20 Kylie - I Should Be So Lucky +18 Steve Silk Hurkey - Jack Your Body +16 Culture Beat - Mr Vain +14 Bros - I Owe You Nothing +13 Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now +12 Michael Jackson - Black Or White +11 Charles and Eddie - Would I Lie To You? +10 Modjo - Lady +09 Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There +08 D:Ream - Things Can Only Get Better +07 David Bowie - Space Oddity +06 Snap - Rhythm Is A Dancer +05 Robin Beck - The First Time +04 Blu Cantrell - Breathe +03 Outhere Brothers - Don't Stop (WIggle Wiggle) +02 KWS - Please Don't Go +01 Lady Gaga - Just Dance -02 Robbie Williams - Millenium (One of the most woeful songs sung by a horrible, odious prick!)
  2. I couldn't disagree with you anymore here! "Satisfaction" was so ridiculously ahead of its time, it should've been too underground to resonate with joe public. However, with a hook big enough to hand your coat up on (and it pains me to say, the horrible video) were enough to send it to No.2 (I remember Beyonce stopping it going to its rightful place and being a bit miffed - funny how I don't give 2 shits about the charts now!). In 2012, "Satisfaction" can sit very comfortably with your average Guetta track to Afrojack in any set and not sound one bit out of place.
  3. The irony of this song is unbearable!
  4. One of the most pointless efforts ever. Britney is little more than a fraud, a talentless waste of space that has sustained a music career on the strength of making a bit of a tit out of herself in the public eye - Yes, I can't abide the woman. There, done. Madonna, who I still had a lot of time for in 2003 (not so in 2012), is totally anonymous sounding and frankly shouldn't have even bothered on what is principally a Britney song. Oh yeah, the song was crap too.
  5. 100% agree. A truly horrific track which, unfortunately, was hogging the upper end of the Top 40 when I began my 2 year DJ stint. I played it 2 weeks solid and then pretended I "couldn't find it"... even after 17 requests. Utter shit.
  6. Oh good LORD! Takes me back to being a 19 year old stooodent at a uni VERY close to Liverpool, funnily enough (Ultrabeat were unsurprisingly massive at this neck of the woods)! I was a resident DJ at the uni and this was just about the only dance track I could gat away with playing. I love house music, which by 2003 was dead on its arse, so after one to many bevvies I defaulted to this sort of vacuous dance music that got churned out by records label All Around The World. In 2012, this sounds terribly dated but a song that makes me pine for my uni days soo painfully bad, it can drive me to tears.

  8. Urm where were my votes?? Mind you, since my 1 and 2 were the same as the results, it matters little.... though Ukraine would've moved up a place!

Cheesier than a deli counter... but in the best possible way! The song stunk of 3rd place, a real shame it didn't do very well in the results. Defo snubbed by jury. I'm off to Cyprus in a few weeks so will defo give "La La Love" a good battering!

Comparing "Euphoria" to Cascada is unfair. Cascada is vacuous dirge. "Euphoria" has a wiff of Costa Del Sol, but so what? It's pop dance, with a dash of class.
  11. Well I was referring to their jury voters... ;)
  12. Well I was referring to their jury voters...
  13. Considering Italy were the ONLY country not to award points to Sweden, I think it was a tactful movement to prevent Sweden winning as they considered themselves to be favourites.... Only to find they didn't even manage a third of the pointage Sweden gathered! Seeing this at No. 1 in the UK is frankly unbelievable!

Me and 2 other fanboys are here voting... 2 have picked Sweden, 1 has picked Cyprus. So I have dialled respectively. I can't handle a nothing but a Sweden victory. The only country I can jusssssst about tolerate winning over is Spain.

Song No. 17 The shortest 3 minutes of my life.
  16. I've put a tenner on Serbia about a month ago. It's odds were very appealing... would get about £120/£140 (I think) if they win... which will soften the blow if Sweden lose out... and that is a MASSIVE if can I add (i.e. I doubt it will happen!). I retract what I said about Serbia before, must've been having an off day!
  17. OK, here is mine Pretty solid winner, with or without plastic snowflake lodged in throat: 1 Sweden I think the following 3 will be battling it out for the 2nd place, so I reckon pretty tight): 2 Italy (it's very cool and will appeal to the snootier side of jury voters, will do well with both jury and voters) 3 Romania (not much of a fan, but these sort of breezy songs always do well, I can see the broad appeal this has) 4 Serbia Further down the points scale, in the low 100s 5 Azerbaijan (will do better than others think) 6 Spain (the song is a bit dated, but her knock-out vocals will ensure a decent enough result) 7 Russia (hoping the jury will have voted little enough to knock this out of the top 5) 8 Cyprus (optimistic perhaps, but I think this will be a VERY big hit with televoters!) 9 Germany (there's always one MOR yawnfest that does well, but I could easily swap this with Denmark's predicted position) 10 Greece (they always do well don't they?) Very tight scores from here until 18, I reckon 11 Ukraine (I actually really like this in a OTT vocal sort of way, I think this has broad appeal) 12 Estonia 13 Iceland 14 Turkey 15 Denmark 16 UK (jury might be kind, but I don't think this will register with televoters one jot) 17 Ireland (see UK, but vice-versar) 18 Norway (sadly I think this will tank, but the votes I feel will be VERY tight mid-table and I think Tooji will come worse off) And the rest 19 Albania 20 Moldova 21 Bosnia + Herzegovina 22 Malta 23 France 24 Hungary 25 Macedonia 26 Lithuania I'm sure I'll be way out with a lot of these, but it's part of the fun!
  18. She'll walk it... Though I wonder if they decide to keep the snow for tonight? The fact that odds are, at very best, remain at 5/4 are self-evident she's a clear winner.... Norway 09 odds weren't even as low as this on the day??
  19. OK not a hoax then... it is a bit of a toe-curler, but I think the whole thing needs to be put into perspective. This is not her missing a note due to vocal ability, she will be absolutely fine! Would much rather this then her sing the entire thing mediocre. I'm confident the first prize is still in Loreens hands!
  20. If you're a jury member, you have to be a bit of a c**t to knock off points for something that is COMPLETELY out of control. There is 8-ish second footage of the clip where she cough, but the whole thing looks a little "hoaxy". I still say she's a clear winner come Saturday night!
  21. Mine, in chronological... Turn It Into Love Hand On Your Heart Never Too Late Enjoy Yourself Better The Devil You Know Step Back In Time What Do I Have To Do? Shocked (DNA Mix) Finer Feelings Confide In Me Where Is The Feeling? (Video Mix) Automatic Love (Acoustic Mix) Did It Again Breathe Drunk Light Years In Your Eyes Love At First Sight Come Into My World (Fischerspooner Mix) Slow (Chemical Brothers Mix) I Believe In You In My Arms The One (Freemasons Mix) All The Lovers Cupid Boy
  22. "Shocked" is indeed a track. The piano, the rap, the hip-house drum kicks.... sooooo 1991... sooooo good!
  23. I find it VERY hard to believe "Kids" is a fan favourite. Agreed, this is one of the poorest compilations I've seen. Defo NOT buying it!
  24. OK! OK! It's a repeat but for the benefit of those that haven't seen it (and for those that have seen it but want to watch it again like me!), this is proper decent tele. It's basically the story of Europes political history, through Eurovision. It lays it on a little thick maybe, but it's well worth watching (apologies for those that don't have More4).

    AGREED! :D
