  1. The Shepard song sounds like it could’ve come out of a Danish NF. I stopped listening after a minute. If Oz decide to send that over something as stratospheric as and unique as Zer Gravity, well....
  2. I hope this heat doesn’t set the tone for 2019 because it was bloody awful. I’m not a fan of Wictoria, but I didn’t think she’d find her way out of the this heat with a shoddy song (although her vocals were on point, tbf). Where was the d&b drop in Chasing Rivers? Not surprised it fell short of a top two slot. Roll on week two..
  3. I’m only excited about this semi purely because it’s the opener. Ive never really understood the over zealous fan base over Wictoria, but a third position does seem rather odd.Nano feels like the only solid DTF in this crop.
  4. Well that IS a surprise! Sandstorm is of course a belter (don’t care so much for it these days, but at the age of 16, it was the absolute dogs bollocks). I hope he keeps in tune with his sound for Eurovision and not something liked tiesto has been doing these past few years.
  5. I thought the France NF was very poor IMO, spearheaded by this rather dull and uncharismatic singer winner. There will be the obvious comparisons to Conchita made, but everything that made Rise Like A Phoenix work perfectly, is mostly abscent from this. I can’t envisage France causing much trouble in May.
  6. On balance, whilst varied, we’re ultimately left with another shoddy, uninspired lot. I think Michaels “Bigger Than Us’ will win and, whilst I’d gladly never hear it again, I think it could do ok in May. Sweet Lies is a half-baked club-pop track. The melody needs to dip and rise and production needs beefing up, but I’m reluctantly opting for this is my favourite.
  7. ‘Feel” is defo my pick out of that lot. It’s great - the icy production makes it feel very Norwegian too. ‘Spirit In The Sky” is far too tacky.
  8. when they sent Legends last year, it made me think that the BBC do give the slightest of shits at this old game. So, I will treat 2019 with the ever open mind I always do. I genuinely think the BBC is something we should nourish as best as we can especially on this political shitstorm but I’m reluctantly in agreement with some that perhaps Eurovision should be managed elsewhere...?
  9. I was a big supporter of the people’s vote however I’ve gonna cold on the idea. I think it’ll cause more instability within communities etc. One thing everyone will agree on is that there is no solution that a majority will be happy with. I think the best solution and I predict will happen will be another several months of watering down and chipping away until we get something that will pass through parliament. I think we will get some line in line with the Norway model albeit it’ll take us bloody ages to get there.
  10. Unsure why you would want to reduce a demograph who on average pay more tax than UK born citizens, who typically work more hours, who do the low skilled labour that so many other auK citizens don’t want to do...but ok.
  11. Two and half years have passed and not one Brexiter has put forward a convincing argument why leaving the EU will benefit us economically. A polite reminder to hardline Brexiters that only 0.3% of government spending is put into EU contributions. Brexit is underpinned by right-wing, flag waving nationalistic values and article 50 needs to be revoked.
  12. I could get a cab back from MediaCity for under a tenner, so this is a massive kick in the teeth. They could easily pocket £30 a ticket but hey would rather fill the seating up with half-arsed fans. This is total bullshit.
  13. She is the queen of Mum-Dancing
  14. Val’s annual leave has been approved
  15. I’d argue Wild Child holds that accolade. Don’t Worry is where MelFest and 90s piano house collide beautifully. Also Statements is tremendous, you’re wrong on two counts . I don’t think the latter was right for MelFest perhaps, but so many worse songs pulled through over it.
  16. Wild Child over Don’t Worry? I mean... I won’t even begin to open that can of worms. But, alas, nice selection of tracks. One shall vote!
  17. I found both previous Wictoria songs quite excruciating, Im dumbfounded as to why so many fanboys are standing her. Not a particularly good live vocalist either. I’ll grab my coat.
  18. If Love Was A Crime is... I think... my single greatest Eurovision track of all time. Beautiful Mess and Bones are solid 9/10s. This news would be crushing of course, but I’m beginning to get adjusted to bulgarias OTT Social Media machine. Is this just another PR stunt?
  19. This. I think Sweden are in Plato mode. Good Plato mind, still stratosphere’s ahead of the UK, but they at least know they’re not resistant to poor placings. I’m hopeful for a better MelFest next year...
  20. Sounds interesting. Tbh Oz have done a good move here, they’re playing this game too safely. it’s showing in their results. Can’t wait to set alarm on a forthcoming Sunday morning... 😁
  21. We stan indeed! Yes I’ve seen this. To be honest, I’m not overly convinced. It seems like every year the Bulgaration delegation like to create hysteria on Twitter. This year is clearly no exception. I will of course be extremely upset is this is true, but I’m shrugging this off as click-bait.
  22. Image I went to my first EuroBash yesterday and got to meet Poli Genova. She was truly lovely - and tiny! She of course performed If Love Was A Crime and tore the roof off! And, bucket list item was ticked off when I managed to bag a selfie... She also made a rather large hint that she would be returning next year in some capacity or another. Could be lip service, but exciting none the less! PS How the eff do you stick imges on here without the need to create a link?
  23. While it hasn't been confirmed, the host for YouDecide is very likely to be at MediaCity in Manchester. Given it's 6 miles away from me, I shall go the ball!
