Channel 4 have revealed the brand new Celebrity Big Brother eye, however, it isn’t like anything we’ve seen since series 1. The eye is now real and the show has adopted a new slogan, ‘Hell Lies in Others’. What could it mean?

Celebrity Big Brother returns to Channel 4 for the final time on 3rd January and apparently has ‘fiery plans in store’ for this year’s batch of celebrities. Shirley Jones, the executive producer of Big Brother 5 has returned to her duties for series seven. She said: “This is no holiday camp for pampered personalities; Celebrity Big Brother won’t be leaving the limelight quietly”.

Fans will have high hopes that Shirley Jones will revive the format, Big Brother 5 was branded the best series of all time in the UK among many fans. The show took an ‘evil’ turn after Big Brother 4 failed to please viewers.

Daniel Eatock has been ditched for the celebrity series in favour of a brand new orange eye which is the first time since series 1 that a real eye has been used in the design. What could the fire ball design mean?

Dreams will also return as the sponsor for Celebrity Big Brother. The summer series this year saw Lucozade sponsor the show. You can watch the brand new advert from the advertising campaign here:

  3. Paramore album is AMAZING, I know they have a lot of haters on here but it really is a perfect album for what it is. I agree that, whilst their previous two efforts were good, they don't hold a candle to this.

    Exceptional.

Thank you :) I obviously agree with your comments

'They don't hold a candle to this' amused me for some reason

  4. 10 | Love it and love him as I have said on many occasions. To the EAST, to the EAST!

09 | Not heard this to be honest matey. I would listen now but Paramore takes priority

08 | Superb. Agree, the album was a letdown in comparison

    07 | See response to No.9

06 | Excellent. Really love this. Possibly my favorite of theirs

    Paramore - Brand New Eyes

We'll make sure to build your house brick by boring brick

Paramore’s third album ‘Brand New Eyes’, is officially my favorite album of 2009. As you can imagine, September was turning into a great month for new music for me. Frank Turner’s third release at the beginning of the month, the release of ‘The Resistance’ a week later and finally Paramore’s highly anticipated third release a fortnight later. I’ve always liked Paramore, it’s hard not like a band when they’re fronted by Hayley Williams. As I’m sure is the case with most, I first heard of them during their ‘Riot’ era which then made me go back and listen to their debut ‘All We Know Is Falling’. Many thanks to fellow poster Ashford, for introducing me to them at Leeds festival 2007 (first act on the Main Stage on Sunday), since then I have not looked back. Whilst both ‘All We Know Is Falling’ and ‘Riot’ are great records, ‘Brand New Eyes’ is in a league of its own, it’s a lot more mature for starters. Rumors were rife at the end of the bands ‘Riot’ tour last year that the band were on the verge of splitting. Although the band came close to calling it a day, they worked through their problems and got to work on ‘Brand New Eyes’. On almost every song, the lyrics are suggestively personal. On ‘Looking Up’ for example, Williams sings “God knows the world doesn’t need another band, but what a waste it would’ve been! I can’t believe we almost hung it up, we’re just getting started.” At 12 tracks, and 45 minutes in total, the album is just the right length. Pretty much all of the songs on the album stand out as highlights ‘Careful’, ‘Ignorance’, ‘Playing God’, the heart warming ‘The Only Exception’ ‘When The Lines Overlap’, 'All I Ever Wanted' and ‘Decode’.

, the albums second single is by far the album's standout for me. Ever since I first heard it, I have loved it. I’ve listened to it a ridiculous amount but with each listen it just seems to get better and better. Everything about the song is just perfect. I don’t think I can begin to describe just how much I love it. ‘Misguided Ghosts’ being the only song on the album that doesn’t match the quality of the album’s other songs. Even still, the song is a great listen. Everything about this era just works so well for me; the artwork, the promo videos and of course the music itself. It sounds to selfish to say but I’m glad the band had problems, because without being on the verge of breaking up last year, I don’t know if they would have been able to make an album THIS good. The more I think about it, the more I am glad I made the decision to bump this record up to the top spot. It’s become a personal record in the past couple of months and the more I listen, the more I continue to fall in love with it. From start to finish, I just can’t pick fault.

    Muse - The Resistance

Invisible to all, the mind becomes a wall. All of history deleted with one stroke

My favorite band Muse pull up just short of the top spot with their fifth LP ‘The Resistance’. It’s been three years since the release of ‘Black Holes & Revelations’, so I got rather excited as news began to filter about the lads return. The Queen-esque ‘United States of Eurasia (+Collateral Damage)’ was my first taster of the new album, and being bought up on Queen it impressed me. ‘Uprising’, the album’s lead single also impressed. Released a day after my birthday (good timing?), truth be told the album didn’t hit me on first listen. The 15 minute symphony lived up to it’s hype,

(which would later go on to be the album’s second single) struck a cord but apart from that I couldn’t help feel a little disappointed. Listening for the second/third time, it began to click and suddenly everything fell into place. The title’s track chorus was to hard to resist, the same goes for ‘Unnatural Selection’s’ (my favorite song on the album now) powerful guitar riffs and System of A Down resemblance and ‘MK Ultra’s’ electronic powerful sound. I’d also like to take this opportunity to mention my love for ‘I Belong To You (+Mon Coeur S’ouvre A Ta Voix) which seems to be unpopular with most people I speak to. There’s something about it I just love, especially the French breakdown halfway through. The only song I’ve never truly connected with is ‘Guiding Light’ and after seeing them for the fourth time in November, I now hold a soft spot for that as well. Obviously, the album works best in a live environment. I saw them just over a month ago and the new songs fit nicely into the setlist, along with the oldies. For obvious reasons, this review may come over a little biased but I truly believe ‘The Resistance’ is a brilliant album. It’s received a lot of criticism for being OTT, but haven’t Muse always been slightly over the top? I’m not sure how this record fits in with previous releases. I don’t think they’ve released a bad album yet (despite the criticisms aimed at ‘Black Holes & Revelations’ and now ‘The Resistance). What makes this record so special in my eyes though, is Exogenesis (Symphony). First of all, who else would dare to put a 15 minute symphony at the end of their album? Musically, Muse excel and the album’s closer just shows why. I find it so powerful, and thought provoking. Every time I listen to ‘Exogenesis Part 3: Redemption’, I have the image in my head of the last few remaining people on earth, moving away to a new planet and ‘starting all over again’, with the image of the world on fire in the background. Sad I know, but I like it. Reading this, you may wonder why ‘The Resistance’ isn’t my No.1 album of 2009. For a long time it was, but over the last fortnight or so it’s been overtaken. For some reason, my No.1 record just feels right ...
