My predictions (after last week's disasterous forecast of Noisettes being number 1). 1) Poker Face 2) Calvin 3) A R Rehman & PCD's 4) Noisettes 5) La Roux I think the Liverpool Collective will be number 8.
  2. I have a funny feeling The Noisettes will just pip Lady GaGa this Sunday by a few hundred units.

Was very close between Love Song by Sara Bareilles, Spiralling by Keane and I Kissed a Girl, but they were all totally blown away by not only the best song of 2008, but the best song of the millenium so far viz. Run by Leona

Danny, I predict the Top 10 as follows: 1 Frankie Laine - I believe 2 Slim Whitman - Rose Marie 3 Bill Haley & his Comets - Rock around the clock 4 Beatles - She Loves You 5 Bryan Adams - Everything I do 6 Boney M - Rivers of Babylon 7 Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Relax 8 David Whitfield - Cara Mia 9 Wet Wet Wet - Love is all around 10 Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
  5. The title track of Scooter's album sounds like a cover of Glass of Champange by Sailor.

After reading some good comments, I watched the video to Love Song by Sara Bareilles and I think it is a brilliant track. With the right airplay, it could do another Hey There Delilah. The video is very good as well. I predict number 2 for this track.

Westlife's first 7 singles all went straight in at number 1 and it would have been 11 if it hadn't been for Bob the Builder. In all Westlife's first 22 singles all made top 5, but their 23rd only made number 62.

I am a Leona fan and was hoping she would have her 3rd number 1 on Sunday. But I must take my hat off and congratulate Duffy for a 5th week at number 1. Duffy won fair and square and I think will be top for a 6th week. Nobody has pointed out that the CD was virtually a triple A side because I bought it, as I am sure others did, for the 3rd track, You Bring Me Down which is not on either version of the album.

I don't think Goldfrapp were cheated out of the number 1 slot, they didn't sell anything like enough copies. If the 2 versions of Back to Black were combined it would have been number 1 for the last 3 weeks. Duffy will definitely be number 1 this week as she is outselling the number 2 by 6:1 according to the Sunday chart thread.

I can remember a few years ago when they only played the new entries from 40 - 21 between 5.15 and 5.30 when they counted down the whole top 20. They played the previous week's top3 (I think) and some new releases until 4.30 and then played the album chart featuring 6 tracks up to 5.00 and then there was the retro before they moved on to the singles chart. Can't remember who was hosting the show, but I think it may have been when JK & Joel started.
  11. Better in Time will definitely go to Number 1, although it won't sell as many copies as Bleeding Love or A Moment Like This.
  12. UK and USA - Young Love by Tab Hunter Australia - Singing the Blues by Guy Mitchell

5th Booty Luv - Some Kinda Rush 4th Paramore - Misery Business 3rd Lupe Fiasco - Superstar 2nd Michael Jackson & Will I Am - The girl is mine 1st Leon Jackson - When You Believe (Surely the worst and most undeserving No 1 in history).
  14. Under X-Factor rules none of the losers can release records until a certain amount of time has elapsed. I reckon SD are releasing Breaking Free at the earliest opportunity.

I am surprised so many people are voting for Duffy. Maybe it is out of hope rather than realistic expectation. It appears that Duffy was well behind the top 2 and, with physicals selling better on Friday and Saturday, I think she will have to settle on number 3. I have voted for Nickelback, but for the first time in many months, the top 2 are too close to call, but I think Nickelback will just shade it as their sales are on the way up, whereas Basshunter's are on the way down.

I agree with most of the comments here. I thought the writing was on the wall last week when there were no Chartbreakers. I believe a chart show should have more music and less inane chat and should not ramdonly miss out tracks. I also think they should run through the Album Top 20 playing a track from the number 1 plus the highest (or 2nd highest) new entry. Wes Butters did a very good job, and JK & Joel were OK, but Fearne and Reggie have been very poor as I think their banter would have been suited for a different sort of show. Hope Fearne enjoys her new life in America, though.
  17. Thanks for all this, Mikey. I go along with your top 3 prediction for Sunday's chart. I think Basshunter will spend 5 weeks at the top and will be replaced by David Jordan. Despite looking unlikely to make number 1, it has been a brilliant start to the year for Adele. She will have the number 1 album this week, she's won an award and the single looks set to be at number 2 for the 3rd week and by the end of the week Chasing Pavements will be the 2nd biggest selling track in 2008.
