Better in Time will definitely go to Number 1, although it won't sell as many copies as Bleeding Love or A Moment Like This.

I think there will be plenty of excitement. Just because the Top 4 have not changed does not make the chart boring as there could be some interesting moves outside the top 10. Also, don't forget that this time 2 weeks ago, Mercy was only Top 40. I wonder if Mercy can sell 100k copies this week.

When Duffy retains the Number 1 slot on Sunday, I think she will break the record for the highest weekly sales for a download only track. I think the record is currently held by Mika with Grace Kelly which sold 38,500 copies during its 2nd week at number 1.

Under X-Factor rules none of the losers can release records until a certain amount of time has elapsed. I reckon SD are releasing Breaking Free at the earliest opportunity.

It looks like Duffy has in the bag this week. Nickelback will be very unlucky not to have a number 1, but number 1's are much harder to get as they seem to stay at the top for several weeks. Mercy, a bit like Umbrella, has literally come from nowhere. Am I right in saying that, assuming Duffy makes it to number 1 it will only be the 3rd single to enter at number 1 on downloads alone, the others being Crazy and Umbrella? Will Duffy spend as long at number 1 as those 2 songs? Probably not but I would give her 5 weeks at the top.

I am surprised so many people are voting for Duffy. Maybe it is out of hope rather than realistic expectation. It appears that Duffy was well behind the top 2 and, with physicals selling better on Friday and Saturday, I think she will have to settle on number 3. I have voted for Nickelback, but for the first time in many months, the top 2 are too close to call, but I think Nickelback will just shade it as their sales are on the way up, whereas Basshunter's are on the way down.

Is Ring My Bell by Anita Ward in the Top 100? Every time I turn on the TV I seem to hear it in the advert break.

To be fair, we have only had 1 new number 1 this year - Basshunter, which is a dance track and not everyone's cup of tea. The first couple of months are often very slow, so I think it is far too early to write off 2008 yet. I think Nickelback will be number 1 this week, but don't rule out a 6th week for Basshunter as his sales seem to improve in comparison to the other tracks as the week goes on. Give it a few weeks and I am sure there will be some exciting new releases reaching the top echelons of the chart.

I agree with most of the comments here. I thought the writing was on the wall last week when there were no Chartbreakers. I believe a chart show should have more music and less inane chat and should not ramdonly miss out tracks. I also think they should run through the Album Top 20 playing a track from the number 1 plus the highest (or 2nd highest) new entry. Wes Butters did a very good job, and JK & Joel were OK, but Fearne and Reggie have been very poor as I think their banter would have been suited for a different sort of show. Hope Fearne enjoys her new life in America, though.

Thanks for all this, Mikey. I go along with your top 3 prediction for Sunday's chart. I think Basshunter will spend 5 weeks at the top and will be replaced by David Jordan. Despite looking unlikely to make number 1, it has been a brilliant start to the year for Adele. She will have the number 1 album this week, she's won an award and the single looks set to be at number 2 for the 3rd week and by the end of the week Chasing Pavements will be the 2nd biggest selling track in 2008.

Despite my earlier predictions, I have to confess that it seems almost certain that Basshunter will still be number 1. I must say, I am disappointed at the lack of new songs entering the Top 40 the last couple of weeks. From looking at the updates, we may have as few as 4 new songs in the Top 40 and only one of them in the Top 20. Top 2 are both selling well for the time of year which is a good sign.

Even in the unlikely event of Adele not reaching number 1 this week, she has nothing to be disappointed about. Chasing Pavements is selling very well and I think is destined to be in the chart for a long time. Her album must surely go straight in at number 1 when released. I have heard a couple of her other songs and they are brilliant as well.

Don't worry, Adele fans, she will be number 1 on Sunday. Basshunter has had 1 day of additional physical sales and I think Adele will be comfortably number 1 by the next set of midweeks. I don't think we should underestimate the effect of a physical release. The Wombats climbed 24 places, I think due to physical release.

Basshunter clearly have the number 1 slot sewn up this week, but I have a feeling that Adele will pick up momentum on Saturday and pip Lupe Fiasco to the number 2 slot. She will surely be number 1 for many weeks.
