The Russia Political Thread
Piers Morgan, writing in The Sun, has said the answer to this is the US taking out the Russian forces in Ukraine but Biden is too weak to do it. A strong US President would. He should launch US air strikes where it hurts and knock all Putin's forces out in and around Ukraine. What will he do then? He won't use nukes as that guarantee Russia's destruction too. America could end this swiftly within hours. On and order the CIA to kill Putin. I agree. Hit them hard and fast. Where's Dubya when you need him!

Brexit II: This Time It's Irreversible
The ROI always has been more expensive though as they import a lot from the UK mainland. My dad was Irish so we went every other year in the 60's and 70's and was always expensive for groceries, petrol, clothes etc.

The Russia Political Thread
The US Pentagon, according to Sky News, says Russia is preparing to invade "very soon" and could be within hours now. Putin refusing Biden's calls now. There'll be a lot killed cos they won't just roll over. :(

KP's IT systems compromised by cyber attackers
All UK production of KP nuts, McCoys, Quavers, Nik-Nak's, Hula Hoops, Skips and many other snacks have completely ceased production until further notice. KP ships products around the world. Apparently a ransom has been demanded which police have told them not to pay. They daren't start anything going in case customers's addresses and payment info is leaked. From The Guardian. A cyber-attack targeting KP Snacks could lead to a shortage of some of Britain’s most popular snacks including Hula Hoops, McCoy’s and Tyrrells crisps, Butterkist, Skips, Nik Naks and KP Nuts. The company has sent a letter to stores saying the ransomware attack, which has crippled its IT and communications systems, could lead to supply issues until “the end of March at the earliest” as it “cannot safely process orders or dispatch goods”. The warning message, sent out through the groceries wholesaler Nisa, said KP Snacks was going to limit the size of orders to retailers so it could “manage what stock we do have”, according to the website Better Retailing, which first published news of the attack. “On Friday 28 January we became aware that we were unfortunately victims of a ransomware incident,” said KP Snacks in a statement. “As soon as we became aware of the incident, we enacted our cybersecurity response plan and engaged a leading forensic information technology firm and legal counsel to assist us in our investigation.

No because the Government doesn't decide them. It's the non-political Boundaries Commission.

Man eaten by Great White shark in Australia.
First fatal attack near Sydney since the 60's. Many witnesses saw the large shark, thought to be a great white, about 14ft long according to estimates, bite the swimmer in half then eat parts of his body, returning to finish the rest. LESSON. Do not swim in Aussie waters folks. Paddle only. Beaches closed now and no swimming allowed, according to Sky News, as they fear it could return after such a successful kill. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10...amp;ai=10518187 EDIT. Man was British, living in Sydney and due to be married soon. His family say he wouldn't want the shark killed.

Coronavirus Discussion
What you lot seem to be all missing is that people can still isolate if they want to but aren't forced to. Covid is just about over and here in London not many are wearing masks any more, even on the tube and buses. Less in supermarkets. For once Boris is spot on with something. We can't go on with restrictions forever.

Pardon? You can serve in many other ways than military forces. He's been London mayor for two terms then an MP, Foreign Secretary and now the highest office in the land, Prime Minster and First Lord Of The Treasury. If that's not serving his country I don't know what is.

If anyone thinks the Met will conduct a full and proper investigation then they're deluded. A few fines and not anyone high up and that'll be it. Boris and Priti will be leaning on Cressida right now,

Not defending Savile one iota but to be fair, she probably had no idea of what he was up to, as many didn't. :( It's alright lots saying they had suspicions in hindsight.

Nobody gets in Oxford or Cambridge with U grades at A level Michael no matter who they are. You need straight Grade A's and to pass a gruelling set of interviews.

WRONG. She actually has a degree from Oxford. How many here who deride every member of the current Tory cabinet ever went there or stood any chance whatsoever of getting in there? Only 22% of applicants do each year. Sick of all the Tory name calling here. Al least get your facts right.

My world too in fact as I haven't had an increase in my ESA for years now. It's been frozen for years and think in April we do get a slight rise, less than 1%. Used to be tied to the rate of inflation.

Some claimants are too choosy though. If there isn't a job for an unemployed accountant then he should go to Tesco or sweeping floors. Research has proved you can get a job easier if you're already in one. Was reading in The Student Room last night of a graduate with a 2:2 in History who has only had voluntary work in the 5 years since leaving uni. :o He's been on benefits since the day he graduated and won't apply for a shop, restaurant jobs or anything he considers menial. Tesco have told him he's overqualified and will leave as soon as he gets a better offer. Some replies blamed the 2:2 and other blamed History for his lack of success.

From Metro online. "Millions of Brits will be forced to pay more on their student loans under a “stealth tax rise” slipped out by the government today. Student loan repayment thresholds will be frozen from April 6 after ministers scrapped plans to raise them by 4.6%. That means graduates will have to shell out more of their disposable income as wages and prices rise with inflation. The respected Institute for Fiscal Studies warned the freeze will cost £30k earners £113 a year more than they would have expected." Am not having a go at students but surely on 39k a year they won't really notice a couple of quid a week, around £9 a month?
