iTunes Chart: December
Happy is not a grower. It will be out of the official top 10 on Sunday. The only reason it's still top 10 on iTunes is there's no competition. It will fall quickly as radio continues to drop it. The album could drop out of the top 5 on Sunday.

iTunes Chart: November IV
I would love for Pencil Full of Lead to be top 10 now and #1 in 2010. What a chart run! It will probably sell more long-term than Happy! But I think Owl City's Fireflies will likely own #1 for several weeks in 2010.

iTunes Chart: November IV
But doesn't Cheryl have many versions in the top 100? Happy will be out of the top 10 next week, and probably get a maximum of 5 weeks in the top 40. A definite flop. Hopefully Radio 1 and 2 will forever drop it from their playlists next week.

Longest Charting Singles Update
This is an interesting chart. Those Kings of Leon songs and Rehab had better disappear soon so they don't overtake Rule The World. I too consider Rule The World the final winner in that Bleeding Love/Rule The World chart battle a couple years ago.

iTunes Chart: November IV
Clearly there's nothing good on the new album, if she can't stop performing her awful cover of Run --- the worst cover I've ever heard in my life. I will never forgive her for having the nerve to perform and ruin such a beautiful song. But it's not a surprise as she ruins anything she attempts to sing. But at least she provides a multitude of songs for the Hate Chart. On the other hand, I'm very pleased people are finally appreciating the brilliant Set The Fire To The Third Bar.

iTunes Chart // November I
I wish Paolo could get in the the top 10, then we'd see him rise to the top. And if he were to perform on X Factor (which he'd never do), he would beat the beyond terrible Happy to #1. Now that I've had to sit through the song on Radio 1 and 2, it gets worse with each listen. I have no recollection of the verse, her vocals are off-key in a couple places, and there's no hook. As usual, the over-production is there to cover up her vocal inadequacies. I see it tumbling down the charts fast and I'm sure the DJs can't wait to stop playng it. Really a poor set-up for the album. I think the Sugababes will do pretty well. Catchy song, but not one of their best.

Leona - Happy
I was one of the votes predicting that it won't go to #1. Yeah, it probably will get to #1, but it doesn't deserve it. Everything about this song is formulaic. Very soon people will revolt against all these clones: Halo, Battlefield, Energy, and I'm told Already Gone was basically the same song (fortunately I've never heard it). Enough already. Let's have the divas sing a new style rather than rewrites of the same song.

Who Sings Lead Vocals?
Thanks for the replies. Who sings that line in Girls: I'm filled with sexuality? I like her voice very much. Or is that all three singing there?

Who Sings Lead Vocals?
Given the recent change to the Sugababes lineup, I was wondering who sings lead on my four favourite Sugabases songs. I never thought much about it until now. I'd appreciate it very much if someone could help. Overload Round Round About You Now Girls

iTunes Thread // September III
I think Paloma's song is almost too good to make the top 10. But I sure wish it would get the top 10 affect. She reminds me a classic singer from many years ago. Or maybe Duffy, with much better pipes. Why does Holiday now have a Explicit label? I don't recall seeing it when it was #1. I can't get all the lyrics by listening, but I pulled them up and don't see anything objectionable. The fourth track on the CD single is filthy (and a terrible song for that matter).

iTunes Chart // August II
Just Jack for #1 Could it happen? I think so. Clearly people want to hear something other than generic dance, hip hop, and this year's crop of female singers. I am thrilled that The Day I Died is doing so well. A song that requires thought and analysis -- much like Embers, which I will never get tired of. Still my top track of 2009.

Poll : PREDICT - Mika - We Are Golden
I heard him play this song on Jo Whiley's Monday programme. The song is dreadful. Isn't it basically a re-write of Big Girls? And the fact that he loves Katy Perry and Lady Gaga makes me hate the song even more. I hope it's a huge flop so we don't have to hear any more material from him.

Radio 1 Line-up shake up
I "listen again" to almost every Jo Whiley programme. I will miss her but at least she will be on the weekend. I hope she gets an opportunity to play new music and not just the playlist. Fearne is the only Jo replacement I listen to, so she's the best replacement. I think Edith will be the best weekend presenter since Spoony. I wish they would bring him back. I miss the early doors club and the other features. I think the Jo Whiley switch to weekend is temporary. I hope she eventually takes over Ken Bruce's Radio 2 slot when he retires.

Songs By British Artists That Could've Been Hits In The US
None of those girl group songs would ever make it in the US. Pop music hasn't been featured on US radio since maybe 1973. Duffy's album sold fairly well, but she didn't have any big hits: again she was too pop. Adele did better because she won the grammy for best new artist and she comes across as an acoustic singer-songwriter. I can't see Tinchy Stryder being popular at all; his arrangements are pop sounding and don't sound like American hip hop. Coldplay and Keane are popular because they fit in with lite-rock formats. It bothers me greatly that most Americans have never heard such superb songs as About You Now, Rule The World, and Angels. These three songs are already standards (everywhere but the US) and rank up there with the best songs ever written. I'm sure there will more great British songs in the future that never make it to American shores.

Vote For The Buzzjack All Time Top 10 Michael Jackson Songs
I thought we could include everything. Almost all my favourites are from the Jackson 5 or the Jacksons eras. By "This Place Hotel", are you referring to Heartbreak Hotel? It's a great track and I had forgotten that song, because in the US you hear the same MJ big hits over and over again. I don't want to hear Bad, Beat It, Black or White, or You Are Not Alone ever again.

The Suedehead Chart Commentary
I enjoy reading your commentary every week. I like the strong opinions and agree with most -- especially Keri Wilson, The Gossip, and Michael Jackson. I have no interest in buying any of his music now than I have over the past 40 years -- with the exception that I hope Jackson 5's I Am Love will finally be released on CD. Thank you for the positive review of Rabbit Heart. I was excited about getting the album until I heard her terrible performance on Jo Whiley's Live Lounge. I would guess that the engineers must have put in extra hours during the recording of the album.

☺ iTunes Thread▐ late June - early July
Thanks Shoat for writing exactly what I'm feeling. I really cannot forget the rest of it, the controversy. On the Cascada issue, I heard Jo Whiley play Evacuate the Dancefloor recently and it wasn't all that awful. Certainly better than Everytime We Touch and What Hurts The Most.
