Thanks Bang for compiling this chart. It was certainly a lot of calculation. It was great fun for us though. I was thrilled that Gabrielle's Rise and Lola's Theme and Groovejet did so well. I wish I would have given Push the Button a -1 instead of 1; then About You Now might have gotten to #1 which it definitely deserved! It would be nice to do this for the songs that peaked at #2 in the 2000s. I can think of one from a year ago that should rank very high and hopefully higher than #10 on this chart.

Ken Bruce played it yesterday on Radio 2. So it wasn't exclusive to Capital for very long. I wasn't impressed with this song. I still say Rockferry should have been given a full release. Why is she using so much vibrato now? You can really hear it in this new song. She appeared on the US programme Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago and her vibrato on Stepping Stone was overdone and highly annoying---especially at the ends of phrases. She needs to control that. I find it painful to listen to her. I never heard that vibrato when she sang in Jo Whiley's live lounge earlier in the year.

Agreed about Alphabeat. They are the Scouting for Girls of 2008. Please go away and never come back. I love Oasis, but this first single is just a rehash of other uptempo singles, as gooddelta has said. Hopefully the album will be better. I loved Don't Believe The Truth. I thought Never Miss A Beat would grow on me and it's close, but not yet. I'm surprised it's doing so well. I don't think they'll ever write anything as good as Modern Way.

Thanks for that information. Only 2500 for Pink ... the best news I've heard all week. This means Sugababes have a real chance at #1 next week. I plan to buy several copies of Girls.

They play it often. They cut the rap part and the song seems empty without it. Radio 2 is playing Human, so I don't know why it's not on the playlist. It has more of a Radio 2 sound than Radio 1. It almost approaches "easy listening". Usually Radio 1 playlists a new Oasis album. But now Radio 2 is doing that. I guess Oasis is now too old or the album is no good (like the first single, which should be dropped from Radio 1's playlist next week). I know I've heard Call The Shots on Radio 2, but I don't know if it was ever playlisted.

That sounds like a great promotion. But does Boots report to the Official Charts? My understanding is they haven't sold music in many years. So how will the Boots sales get reported to the Official Charts Company? I still think Girls is a great track. The vocals remind me of Eternal. They are very exciting.

I realise it's a lot of work, but why aren't you providing the high and low votes for each song? Pleased those two U2 songs are low: absolutely awful. I liked most of their 90s stuff. They are now writing the same song over and over again. Glad Give It To Me is low. Hopefully The Way I Are will appear soon. The Road To Mandalay should be much higher. Eternity was a bit sappy, but I still love to hear The Road To Mandalay.

Where is the Girls single version? I thought it was released today or yesterday. My understanding is that the Girls at #3 are the remixes and the single version will chart separately on iTunes. Is this correct? Hopefully the Girls combined total will far exceed Pink, Oasis, Boyzone, Killers, Rihanna, and everyone else.

I will be praying that Oasis's The Shock of the Lightning sells incredibly well and prevents that dreadful Pink and her disgusting song from #1. Or perhaps Kings of Leon can continue at #1. Or even better will be the Sugababes brilliant Girls for #1 next week or the following week and we can watch Pink slide down the chart as quickly as Jennifer Hudson.

Hopefully this won't happen in our lifetimes. Long live the physical single!

Beggin' was originally by the Four Seasons. Frankie Valli was not a solo act at that time. No Americans thought that Jennifer Hudson would win American Idol. Yes, people thought she would last longer than 7th, but the favourite was always Fantasia Barrino, with Diana DiGarmo second. Also, I've talked to many people and none of them liked her cover of And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going. Everyone prefers Jennifer Holliday. Regarding the cancelled CD single for Spotlight, doesn't the trend seem to be that most American artists aren't releasing CD or vinyl singles? I know there are exceptions (like Madonna). I hope the British artists continue to release them.

Jo Whiley played Girls Aloud and The Last Shadow Puppets on Monday. They both sounded great. Why aren't they on the playlist already? Good that the new Keane single has been added. Steve Mac didn't last long. Isn't his physical out just this week? Don't know why Radio 2 has added the Oasis song. Definitely not Radio 2 sound and not a good record either.

I'm not a Take That fan but I'm thrilled about the long chart performance of Rule The World and watch it every week. Let's hope it outruns Chasing Cars, Numb/Encore, Iris, My Way, Release Me, etc. I knew Rule The World would become a standard and would be enjoyed for many generations to come. The best part is that Rule The World has long outlasted the song that kept it from number 1, which happily has faded quickly. Does anyone know the total sales of Rule The World?

She decides to wear a horrible silver astronaut outfit on American Idol and belts out some cheesy song like Circle of Life. Simon told her that the outfit did nothing for her and basically her voice wasn't good enough to make the finals. So she left that week or shortly thereafter. I think she was #6 or 7. She was shocked when she was voted off, but I was happy as she had a serious chip on her shoulder. Plus she had (and still has) a non-distinctive voice. Then she thinks she can sing And I Am Telling I'm Not Going. She ruined that song. It should only be sung by Jennifer Holliday. I can't stand her or her new song. She's yet another mediocre diva for the BuzzJackers to adore.

Yes it's beautiful, but it was played for many weeks---especially on Radio 2. The Bones of You is equally good. Was Spiralling dropped because the official first single by Keane will be released soon? They probably want a couple week gap. I wasn't at all tired of Spiralling. I wished Sonny J was still on, but it was likely dropped due to the poor chart performance. Girls is on the B List on Radio 1 and A List on Radio 2. Does that make any sense? I hope My Mistakes Were Made For You by The Last Shadow Puppets is added to both playlists soon. Radio 2 is already playing it. It is the best record of the year.

I thought It Was You was set to be the second single. Stop... has a Four Seasons feel, which is working this summer. So it should make top 40. I hope they release Don't Keep Me Waiting as the third single. It will sound great on the radio (but perhaps too similar to Stop...).
