  1. As well as on the computer, I have the last 12 months of album charts in a folder for easy access. They all have estimated sales figures on them, which I put there myself.
  2. If you wait until October, you'll be able to get it for a fiver. The record company have no idea how this one's gonna sell over the coming months. So they are likely to make too many and sell some of them cheap.
  3. I don't think anyone had access to Top 200s back in the 80s.

I have a combined total up to the end of 2008. Then I just add on the estimate for 2009 :)

The Virgin British Hit Albums Book in June. I believe they have taken over from Guinness

That's true. The figure includes compilations as well.

Yeah, it's from the 90s. I expected someone to say that Abba should be there. But as I have no idea how much it has sold this decade, I can't really put it in the chart.

Thanks for that. I didn't know there was an official figure available for Will. Must have missed it. I'll amend it now. The estimate was only around 4K out. :)

Yeah, sources at the OCC say that it will be combined for the forthcoming update of the all time chart.

Better late than never. It's the long awaited update of the decade album chart. It's completely unofficial with sales & positions based on my own data and guesswork. It's calculated by puting figures in boxes, so if you see anything that looks wrong or is missing, please let me know. The chart is compiled up to the end of December 2008 as I work by calendar year. Feel free to update Leona & Duffy, if you wish. Is there anything in it that could be seen as offensive ? TMF/VH1 don't play Pink or Kanye West on recent chart shows either. I still haven't been able to work out WHY ?
  12. Is Dundee staying then ?
  13. Celine will have 3 albums in the end of year Top 200. Who thought that she'd stopped selling albums ? :)
  14. That's the Top 50 done. More in 2009
  15. Not a lot of data around for week 52, but we do have official figures for 6 out of the Top 10. There's still the Music Week end of year report to come which should give us even more official figures. Hopefully they will give us The Killers, because the estimate above can be plus or minus 15K. As it's the end of year chart, both me and the admin will be correcting the figures as we go along, so don't print it just yet. It's one of the smaller ones. I always used to get off the bus a couple of stops early on a Monday, pop in and check out the latest releases and their chart. That was in the days before the internet.
  17. I'll post an update of the decade chart from my own data in January. I need to get the end of year charts finalised first, then I'll have a look at the decade chart with sales up to the end of 2008.

Back to Black is still in the chart as seperate albums, so it has to get counted that way. I think Alan Jones is gonna combine it though, when he does the chart of the decade.
