  1. Iceland was nice but really is surplus to requirements in this lineup!
  2. Mika likes himself a bit of colour blocking doesn’t he?
  3. A lot of padding for setting up 1 light rig for Italy!
  4. I don’t mind it but I am pretty pleased not to need to see that Norway performance again!
  5. Finland are sounding a lot better than Thursday night’s show.
  6. Still doesn't feel real both that the final is tonight and that the UK has a fighting chance of winning and a strong chance of top 10! Enjoy the show tonight everyone. Emotions will be running high but lets keep our conduct respectful and even if it does go to Ukraine for reasons that might not be entirely due to the song then given what's happening there at the moment, lets not begrudge Ukrainians a reason to feel good!
  7. Best way of avoiding the curse is give the win to a non qualifier I suppose!

Eurovision in Gran Canaria would be complete and utter gay chaos. Spain must win! Chanel grew up in Catalonia I think so I don’t think Barcelona is an impossibility.
  9. Last time Buzzvision went for the same winner as the rest of Europe was ten years ago so maybe this can be the once in a decade avoidance of the curse?

So usually I post something on Final Day speculating on where we're going next year but the unique circumstances of the 2022 contenders mean there's enough here for a full topic. So, starting with the simpler ones, where will we go if each of the big favourites wins? Ukraine So, bottom line is that I don't think the EBU will permit a contest to be hosted in Kyiv or Lviv in 2023 for security reasons, even though I'm sure the Ukrainians will want the angle of "May 2023 in peacetime Kyiv". The flipside of this is probably that a Ukraine win gives them the opportunity to do a dry run of the "Australia scenario" so we'll see if they give first preference to the runners up or if they have a completely open bidding process. Or would they allow the Ukrainian broadcaster to host 2023 but have, say, Krakow in Poland as the host city? It's a headache that I suspect the EBU wishes they aren't going to need to sort out Italy The Italians supposedly don't want to host the contest again but if that speculation is wrong then Milan and Bologna have already had their venues assessed so one assumes we'd just go down the road. Spain The Spanish have already been firing the starting pistol on 2023 host cities with publicly expressed bids already from Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona and Las Palmas De Gran Canaria all declaring that they want to host. Sweden Stockhom would be a safe bet in either the Globen or Tele2 Stadium if they wanted a switch up in the venue but Malmo wouldn't be an impossibility. UK London would probably bid for it but my gut tells me they'll want to have it outside of the capital. I'd think Manchester and Glasgow would be the biggest contenders but Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle and Liverpool would all likely put up a good fight for it. -x- So, where do you think next year's host city will be?
  11. The two big wildcards in the televotes are Ukraine and the UK. Ukraine from the completely unprecedented situation there and how much that groundswell of support translates into votes and also how much Sam Ryder's TikTok fame can act as a call to action to boost the UK's televote above what its natural score should be. For what it's worth, I've definitely seen a lot more people say that they think other people will vote for Ukraine than say that they will vote for Ukraine themselves so...idk what that's indicative of!
  12. Prediction of the finalists post Jury show 01 Sweden 02 Ukraine 03 United Kingdom 04 Spain 05 Italy 06 Norway 07 Moldova 08 Serbia 09 Australia 10 Netherlands 11 Greece 12 Estonia 13 Czech Republic 14 Poland 15 Armenia 16 Azerbaijan 17 Lithuania 18 France 19 Romania 20 Portugal 21 Switzerland 22 Finland 23 Germany 24 Belgium 25 Iceland
  13. So this is how I'd do it, but given that the semis deviated a lot from the usual mode of doing running orders I've no idea if this will be anything like what shakes out 01 Czech Republic 02 Switzerland 03 Romania 04 Germany 05 Portugal 06 Finland 07 Netherlands 08 France 09 Italy 10 Ukraine 11 Norway 12 Armenia 13 Spain - COMERCIAL BREAK 14 Azerbaijan 15 Lithuania 16 Belgium 17 Sweden 18 Serbia 19 Greece 20 Estonia - SHOWBIZ PAD 21 United Kingdom 22 Poland 23 Moldova 24 Iceland 25 Australia
  14. 1st Half Italy France Germany Spain Armenia Netherlands Norway Portugal Switzerland Ukraine Czech Republic Finland Romania 2nd Half United Kingdom Greece Iceland Lithuania Moldova Belgium Azerbaijan Poland Estonia Australia Sweden Serbia
  15. Really worried we might be getting a bit of a 2015 style second half at this point.
  16. Czech Republic and Finland have drawn first half and Belgium, Azerbaijan and Poland have drawn second half.
  17. Ireland is the loss felt the most keenly out of tonight's non qualifiers #Justice4Brooke
  18. Now having seen the whole show, I'm putting Cyprus out and San Marino in and I so want to put Azerbaijan out in favour of Belgium but I still think that'll sneak it.
  19. Gave Sweden, Ireland, Czech Republic and Australia a vote each.
  20. Sweden have overtaken Italy into 3rd place with the bookies.
  21. My ranking of tonight's performances; Sweden Ireland Czech Republic Australia Serbia Poland San Marino Montenegro Cyprus Estonia Romania Belgium Israel Malta Finland North Macedonia Azerbaijan Georgia
  22. Sweden smashed that - that's definitely still in contention!
  23. Poland is fantastically performed but WTF is this staging?
  24. Australia held the attention of the straight people I'm watching with for the whole thing - that's a good sign!
