  1. Iceland made the right call to go with Rehearsal 2 over the Live on Tape I think.
  2. Cyprus's live on tape really feels like a first draft of the staging (which I guess most of these will be) - the Rotterdam vocals and performance had much more kick to them.
  3. Poland’s live on tape is the fist one so far that I think is almost an improvement on the Rotterdam version!
  4. Part 1 Livestream: zOHwiWElR1A I saw someone describe these two shows as like a "closing ceremony" for the whole two years of Eurovision we've just had which seems very fitting!
  5. Well while they're still within our domain - please enjoy this genius mash up between Zitti e Buoni and Monster by Nicki Minaj. q0b0mV29OwI
  6. There was definitely a group of juries that prior to 2014 seemed to have a pattern of being "friendly" to each other. Hungary, Montenegro, Armenia, San Marino, Malta and Azerbaijan were among the biggest culprits. Also I think it's been long suspected that some countries used bots to keep their odds artificially inflated but I don't think it's ever been proven - until now?

Feels like an absolute eternity since I was in the top 10 so yippee for that rounding off what's been a bit of a sheet week for me! Congratulation for winning again Jake u whore x And that's quite a glow up to 6th for me from 15th in the semi (I think it wasn't particularly poppy so obviously my voter pool wasn't as deep as the finals).

I was gonna say ending in style! But then I noticed....

Glad that I wasn’t the only one who picked up on the ‘This Woman’s Work’ vibes in East Ruk’s song!

    New Lexico has voted!
  12. And if we want to include past years, Cesar Sampson, John Lundvik and Dami Im are probably three of the biggest "televote underperformers". I know all of the entries we've mentioned will have other reasons for their (relative) flopage but when it's fitting a consistent problem then it's definitely concerning.
  13. It's not a nice thought but the fact that Destiny, Senhit and Jeangu all underperformed expectations with the televote sets off my racism spidey sense!
  14. My first contribution is going to be that I don't want to see this public vote reveal system again. And that's not me being butthurt about the UK only being the fourth country to receive their 0 points but having a close up reaction of all the nil pointers (and Malta with their lower than expected score as well) felt like it crossed the line from friendly competition into cruelty which leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
  15. So, the show two years in the making has come and gone in a blaze of glory, and now that the dust has settled we can look back at what the repercussions will be for the various countries. Obviously we'll be spending a lot of time going over what this result means for the UK but which other countries need to head back to the drawing board and have a rethink? What National Final results have/have not been vindicated from these results? Which countries do we see making a comeback/skipping the next contest? What changes, if any, need to made to the format of the show for 2022? How much of a hot mess will an Italian Eurovision hosting be? (I'll answer that last one for you - prepare yourself for the first ever 5 hour eurovision final in May 2022!)
  16. jHlrR-4Ga4U Throwing the thread up now ahead of next week. If you're already feeling the onset of Post-Eurovision depression then fear not, Saturday 29th May sees the return of the Eurovision Song Celebration where we'll be able to see all of the "Live On Tape" back up performances that would have been used if any of the artists, like Australia, weren't able to make it to Rotterdam. Obviously we've already seen one of them but we'll be able to see the other 38 along with some other backstage sneak peeks.
  17. Not a moderator for no reason!
  18. My best guess would be...1995 - back when you had to sing in your own language and Norway, Spain and Sweden were top 3.

  20. In retrospect this makes the decision to put Malta on 6th rather than 10th-13th even more harsh since they were only second to Ukraine by 13 points in the televote in Semi One (in possibly the toughest semi final ever) but by the close of play at song 26 they'd been forgotten about.
  21. Random bits of trivia Best French result since 1991 Best Swiss result since 1993 Best Finnish result since their win in 2006
  22. That voting was pure chaos!
  23. Fair enough to Italy! Turin 2022
  24. I don't think either of the two French ballads will be big televote scorers so I think this is between Malta, Italy and Iceland (unless France surprise us).
  25. My final ranking Malta Cyprus Netherlands Iceland France Israel Serbia Italy San Marino Bulgaria Russia Sweden Ukraine Finland Norway Azerbaijan Lithuania Switzerland Greece Portugal United Kingdom Moldova Belgium Albania Germany Spain Malta's got five votes from me, the rest of my top five two a piece!
