Well obviously Syco want to ensure he flops! Really there's no other explanation for getting him to release a cover after three years of NOTHING and then release his stuff at the same time as their other bigger selling artists. No sane label would consider it if they wanted their artist to stand a chance would they? Maybe I'm wrong and it's part of a well thoughtout plan, but it seems very risky.

Umm as a high ratio of the X Factor viewers are either female or gay men I can guarantee there will be plenty of viewers for a Shayne performance. Let's not forget many of them would have voted for Shayne or bought his album or seen him on tour and are probably wondering where he's been the last few years! But to answer your question marrb - no there's no confirmation and I'm not over optimistic.

I can't believe that none of the Taio Cruz or RedOne tracks have made the album! Did they have to pay extra to include them in the album? Shayne also says in that DS interview that there will probably only be ten tracks - we know there is at least one cover and I've a horrible feeling there will be more. Can't believe it after nearly three years! Such shoddy treatment from Syco and such a letdown for fans. It's so obvious that Shayne should be doing R&B/pop - why on earth is he covering Nikelback? Shayne's 'progress' since winning X Factor is like a handbook on how to mismanage a career. (The pictures are very nice though).

Unlike St. Will you mean. I'm dismayed at this choice of single for Shayne. Some of the demos and leaks I've heard were much much better than this. How can he be successful with a Nikelback cover? Syco obviously have given up on him. I feel sad as he does have a great voice but you wouldn't know it amongst all the auto tuning and synth effects. A disaster of a single - I really don't know how it could be any worse. Maybe a Gary Glitter cover? You cannont stay away for over two years and come back with a well known song cover (unless you're Westlife).

Incredibly disappointed. This is not what I wanted him to come back with. Syco obviously want him to flop. With his image and voice he could have been huge, but it's all finished for him now. Poor Shayne.

The single is getting its first play today. There will be a clip on digitalspy this morning, a video of Shayne on the X Factor website this afternoon and the single will be played in full on the Alex and Lucy Show after 7pm on the INDEMAND radio network (Manchester Key 103, Sheffield Hallam and Hits Radio etc)

Yes I agree it is mean spirited. Apart from one appearance on the the X Factor in 2007 he has always been ignored by the programme since winning. Even when he appeared he wasn't given the best slot as his single wansn't available until the week after. I hope he does well - he has got a great voice and a really good image. Seems a nice guy as well.

He's so unconvincing - awful weak Will Young tribute act.

It's meant to be November for the single and album - but who knows if that will happen. They've delayed too long, and November will be difficult for him. There are always other priorities at Syco and he just keeps getting pushed back. It's a shame

He is with both - he has a joint signing. Awful singer - overpraised on X Factor to a ridiculous degree. He has novelty written all over him. About the same talent level as Jedward who were at least funny. Let's hope the video doesn't contain the chest hair exposure and crotch thrusting as seen on X Factor.

There is meant to be a new single July/August with the album following in November. But dates have come and gone in the past and nothing has happened - so we'll see. I like 'The Way You Are' and 'Brainwashed' and 'Oxygen' out of the leaks I've heard. Some of the leaks are demos, or are actually not Shayne - 'Beautiful in White' is Westlife, 'Blind' and a couple of others aren't him. Some songs have also since been recorded by other artists - 'Black Box' by Stan Walker for example. I think he has recorded lots of tracks, so it's highly likely that most of the leaks won't actually make the album.

The other leaked track 'The Way You Are' is much better.

I'm not sure it has been boycotted. Global Radio's CEO (Heart, Capital plus many others)is Ashley Tabor who has been closely associated with Louis Walsh - they used to/still (?) manage Shayne Ward and manage Jedward I think. Louis of course still manages Boyzone. Maybe the playlist committee didn't like the song.

He's a 'nobody' who's an X Factor winner who has sold over one million albums, and has a single in the Top Ten of the decade. He's had two solo arena tours. Plus he's had success abroad. What have you achieved - or are you just an internet posting 'nobody'?

I'm not sure I believe this. Shayne deserves a really well promoted single and album - he has a lot of potential to be really successful, but his career has been badly managed.

Shayne is much better than any of the male contestants this year. It's all very fishy. Louis Walsh doesn't mention him at all now, neither does Simon Cowell. Cowell is keen to push Alexandra and Leona as the only successful X Factor winners, but Shayne has sold well over 1 million albums, and his single sales are over 1.5 million. All that on a much smaller budget than Leona and Alexandra.

Difficult to know isn't it? Will be huge in the US obviously. In the UK must be over 200,000 surely - will say a very tentative 275,000.

01 Joe - Good vocal, confident performance but a bit dull. 02 Stacey - Very good on her upper register, not so good on the lower, she's a bit one dimensional. Can't choose between the rest as all are awful. Olly's vocals are poor - he's either out of tune or misses notes and lets the backing track take over. His dancing is poor as well. He'll get to the final but will struggle to do more than one song competently. One of the most overrated contestants ever - apalling.

It is a bit bland - and not a very radio friendly song. Her much touted US success seems to be a thing of the past. The last single released from 'Spirit' didn't do well there, and now crucially 'Happy' seems to be flopping in the US. It will be interesting to see what effect that has on her US album sales.

That popjustice guy isnt really half as funny or relevant as he thinks he is. Shayne's first album sold around 520,000 in UK alone, and second 460,000 approx. His third album has been delayed a number of times, and I think it's possible that he will be dropped after this series of x factor as there is still no definite news of a release date.

Louis Walsh doesn't have a clue about contemporary pop music. They don't stand a chance.

Not keen on her tone on the leaked song - she sounds strained. Song really doesn't seem to suit her voice.
