Shayne is currently Number 1 on Danish itunes and has been for the last few days with "No U Hang Up" after his performace on Denmark's x factor on Friday. His album is also Top 5 in Danish itunes. He obviously can't compete with the Leona juggernaut, but this is good for him all the same. Hopefully they will now release his singles and album in the rest of Europe.

Of course it's fair Duffy won. The charts have to be a level playing field as much as possible, you can't have one artist promoting 2 songs, receiving 2 lots of airplay and that going towards one chart position, whilst other artists only have one song to promote/receive airplay for. The way they have dealt with it seems as fair as possible. Leona as well as radio/tv play for both songs also had two huge promotional appearances with BOTH songs on Dancing on Ice and Sports Relief, if the combined physical single and download of BIT couldn't get her to number 1 in the first week of physical release against a song that had been out for weeks already well that's just tough I'm afraid. On another point it's a charity single but only some of the money goes to the charity - how much does anyone know? I thought I read 70p. However her album sales have increased so the main beneficiary could well be Simon Cowell and not Sports Relief.

This has not been confirmed as the new single - according to his official site there will be no new single until the summer (whether it happens then remains to be seen).

According to Shayne Ward's official website "You got me so" is not coming out on March 24th - no further singles at least until the summer.

Well according to Admin on Shayne's official site his new single is out 'in the summer'. Very vague to say the least, seems as though they might have given up on this album - what a shame, especially as the best tracks are as yet unreleased. Seems as though they want Shayne out the way, so they can concentrate on their other artists.

But to begin with all reality winners are manipulated, (even Will Young). To break away they have to have someone powerful fighting their corner. Am I right in thinking Will had Simon Fuller backing him - or have I got that totally wrong? Shayne could just walk away and try and get another record deal of course, maybe he will. But at the moment he's making the best of what he's been given, and not doing a bad job of it. He has said he is writing for his third album, but that remains to be seen. As for longevity, well he won X factor over 2 years ago, so that's longer than many pop stars last!

Well, Simon Cowell apparently chose the first single (even Shayne's fans think it's one of the weakest tracks on the album) and he chose 'Bleeding Love' for Leona (agreed by most as one of her best tracks) so it's possible to see some sort of game plan isn't it? Do you think Shayne was/is in a position to say no to Simon Cowell? Even his best promotional opportunity - singing 'Breathless' on the X factor was handicapped by the single not being available for download for one week. Leona's of course was available within hours.

Really like this - love his voice. It should do well with plenty of airplay.

I think the sales for 'Breathless' are now around 430,000, first album just over 500,000. He's sold 5 x platinum in Ireland (75,000) - more than the first. Second album also selling well in parts of Asia and South Africa (as did the first). He's done well to sell that amount considering a bad first single choice in my opinion and very little radio support - he's obviously not one of Sony/BMG's 'priority' artists, but he has a fairly loyal fanbase and has worked hard - so good luck to him. Hope he gets a third album.

Not sure they are releasing any further singles from 'Breathless'. Shayne posted on his website today - no mention of a single and he said he is promoting abroad in March. He's touring the UK in May but no mention of futher UK promotion!

I'd be surprised if this is a hit. They're really irritating, and the song will be already too familiar to the age group they're hoping will buy it.

I liked their last album, but I don't listen to it a lot now. Looking forward to this one though.

I love this album as well! Tell Him is great - should definitely be a single. Shame he doesn't get played on the radio (not in my area anyway). He's done well to sell so many copies with so little airplay.
