Animal Collective 'Merriweather Post Pavilion' 06.01.09
Absolutely incredible album! :o I think it's more accessible than their past work, but that's not a bad thing by any means. 'My Girls' has gotta be my favourite.

Girls Aloud • The Loving Kind
Another GHASTLY cover. Unfortunately it looks like all of the releases from the era will be following this eyesore of a 'theme'. 'The Loving Kind' was always going to be the second single, what with all the hype surrounding it ahead of the album release. It's not my favourite on the album by any means but I do like it, and it should be a further chart success for the girls.

I'm appalled yet unsurprised by the British public.

Britney makes UK return on 'X Factor' [Official Thread]
I never expected her to sing live, so I'm not disappointed in that respect [although she didn't do a very convincing job of miming it!]. I loved the little break-down section :)

X Factor: The Live Shows
Whoa. Based on the 5 performances, I'd actually place Eoghan 3rd tonight  [above Diana and JLS]
-
X Factor: The Live Shows
My thoughts exactly :D Ruth managed to conjure up a superb performance with a very mediocre song.

YES! So happy for Ruth. :D I'm not too fussed with the outcome tonight now. UGHUGH at Eggnog going through but he's gonna win.

X Factor: The Live Shows
I haven't heard the studio recording of this song, but they're miming, right?

Circus [Album Discussion]
'Unusual You' really is excellent; one of the best songs on the album, for sure. 'If U Seek Amy' has grown on me a bit now [i know I voiced my disappointment earlier], although it's still not as sexually fun/charged as I would've thought :/ 'Circus' is pretty good, but the chorus isn't especially memorable. The random noises in the last couple of choruses are a little irritating to. However, the track is rescued by a great bridge, and there's a short 'break-down' segment which we will no doubt see Britney pull off a routine to in the video. 'Mannequin' is a total mess...no melody, WAYWAYWAY overproduced [even for Britney's standards], and completely forgettable. BAH. 'Shattered Glass' is alright but it lacks substance for me; the backing track doesn't have a lot to it. The pronunciation of glass annoys me too LOL I absolutely love 'Kill The Lights' [though I hope it remains an album track] - we've all heard it before so no explaining necessary. ;o I'll do a full rate later. :D

If U Seek Amy is a little disappointing, I must say. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good song, but after hearing the clip I was expecting a bit more.
