Jim's Personal Top 40 Week #1 [02-11-2008] Chart Commentary After a hiatus of a few months, I have decided to resurrect my personal chart [again]; hopefully this time I'll manage to get further than 12 weeks! I have listened to [and like] the following: 01. Sufjan Stevens - Illinois 2005 03. Björk - Homogenic 1997 04. Modest Mouse - The Moon and Antarctica 2000 08. Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West 1997 10. Arcade Fire - Funeral 2004 I haven't delved into Kate Bush's back catalogue yet, nor have I got round to listening to the others I have omitted [despite having 'Ys' and 'In The Aeroplane Over The Sea' downloaded]. Whilst I do like 'Illinois', I don't find it as incredible as all the reviews seem to indicate...though I have only sat down and listened to it in full once, and I'm guessing it's better listened to as a whole. Homogenic is my favourite Bjork album, for sure <3 It's just lush; there isn't a single track I dislike. You've chosen the best 2 Modest Mouse albums, definitely, although I would have them the other way round. And good to see Arcade Fire there - 'Funeral' is in my top 5 albums of all time :)

I liked the performance tonight - definitely an improvement on the X-Factor one. Kimberley was much more in tune with her section, although am I right in saying Nadine also chimed in for that part of the song? :/

Oh dear. The cover art for this album is really atrocious :blink:

I really like Hot N Cold :/ [And this is coming from an IKAG-hater] That said, Talons is the superior song and the floppage it is enduring is so disappointing :(

I did expect them to be higher, I have to say. Let's see how they move throughout today though :)

I just bought it. Yay.

Oh Cheryl...she looked anxious from the start and her first solo in particular was poor. She defintiely had the most pressure on out of the 5 and it showed. Kimberley was also disappointing with her vocals but she was charming enough in the little interview <3 Nicola was the best, I thought.

Good performance from the girls tonight, I thought. Nicola and Sarah in particular were excellent. My only slight criticism is that Cheryl perhaps tried a bit too hard on her parts...which was totally understandable, as she was under the most pressure out of the five. Oh, and Kimberley was a bit off with her vocals. Hopefully it'll inspire the public to buy the song! :D

Wow, according to the iTunes popularity bars even 'All I Want For Christmas' is being downloaded more than IBLYT :arrr:

First off, I love the video! However, I'd be surprised to see this chart in the top 40 - even if it wasn't on a limited release.
