  1. Kiesza's song is really good and catchy, but her vocals r really annoying in it, it should've performed by someone else with a slighty more modern production...
  2. There's no competition whatsoever... MJ is the real deal, the one and only king of pop!!!!
  3. Awful Eurovision winner and the song 1944 has no tune and no melody and the singer's performance was dire... Poli Genova from Bulgaria deserved to win, she has the catchiest song of them all and did the best performance.... austria was great too with her french song.
  4. I thought BBHMM and American Oxygen were the worst Rihanna singles ever, that's until i heard 'Work'... Another huge disappointment... Hopefully her album will have better tracks on it...
  5. Number 1 where exactly? In Kazakhstan? Because the past few years her UK chart positions have been dire... Hopefully she will manage Top 100 with promo...
  6. i predict 1. 1D 65000 2.Bieber 48000 3. Ed 32000 7. Ben haenow 12000 24. Kylie 2500
  7. I'd rather have Kelly Clarkson rip-off Rachel Platten at number 1 then another cover of 'Ain't Nobody' after another thousand versions charted in the past...
  8. Very bad sales indeed... 30000 for a number 1 in the US is atrocious... Even in the UK it would have been considered as a low selling number 1... At this point not even streaming can mask those hideous sales...
  9. did Kylie's new single chart in the top 1000 yet?
  10. that's why I hate streaming... :puke2:
  11. i'm glad that Foxes held on to her number 7 position.. i hope it climbs more and guarantee a top 10 placing in the official top 10... 'Body Talk' is my favorite song of the year...
  12. the downside of having the same international release date for all artists is the inability for artists releasing singles or albums to promote worldwide at the week of release, since they will have to travel all around the globe in a week to promote their release, while they used to spend a week in each country depending on the release date in that country....
  13. i hope ur joking, these are the most instant tracks on the album, along with 'Boom Clap', 'Famous' is also a good single choice...
  14. hope Lawson's new single will reach the top 10... i'm not crazy about it but the lead singer is soo hot.. I'm rooting for Charli XCX's Famous, such a catchy pop song, too bad it will flop...
  15. The charts were way more interesting back in the 90's early 2000's period when we used to have 12 to 14 new entries per week, me & my friends in Lebanon used to enjoy listening to the UK charts because of the fresh new music and load of new entries, compared to the US charts which was slow & stale, now most people have lost interest in the UK charts because u see the same songs & artists week after week, and month after month, and since the inclusion of downloads & streaming, there is no place anymore for older established artists to reach the higher positions in the charts. Classic acts like Madonna, Kylie, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, Depeche Mode etc have suffered to even reach the top 40 since the inclusion of digital music into the charts. It's a fact though, the industry has moved on from the physical format & now even the album format has become irrelevant, since most artists are discounting their albums to 99 p in order to get inflated sales which is quite ridiculous. Whether we like it or not, there will be a monopoly of a few acts like we have now with Ed Sheeran & Sam Smith and the rest will have a hard time reaching the chart....
  16. I think 'Imagine it was us' could've been huge if promoted properly... disco anthem. :cheer:
  17. Since the inclusion of downloads & streaming into the official UK Chart, the Chart has become much slower than in the 90's-early 2000's period . In the past, the UK chart used to average 12 to 14 new entries in the Top 40, while currently it's 3 or 4 tops. As a consequence, less & less songs are making it into the chart, therefore it's now harder for a new or established act to make it into the top 40. Here is some of the songs, that in my opinion, deserved to be big hits, yet flopped (didn't reach the top 40) undeservedly: -Madonna - Ghosttown Victim of the ageist radio airplay rule where no artist over 30 gets airplayed (especially female), this amazing ballad by the Queen of Pop could've been an easy top 5 for her if it was released during her heyday. GgDxv0Qg_Rg -Giorgio Moroder Ftr Kylie Minogue - Right here Right now Another victim of radio boycott is Princess of pop Kylie Minogue who teamed up with legendary disco producer Giorgio Moroder on this amazing classic disco stomper 'Right Here Right Now', expectedly enough, it totally failed to make the UK top 75 while it deserved a place in the top 10 at least.... 6gZ-11-kOSQ - Estelle - Conqueror: This talented UK vocalist has been largely ignored after the release of her one big hit 'American Boy', even though she released some great songs such as the very touching power ballad 'Conqueror'. This song was later used in the soundtrack for US series Empire helping it to become a minor hit over there. lvvimH5_Ap4 -The Ting Tings - Wrong Club I was truly shocked when this disco pop gem failed to make any impression on the UK public, the song should've been the Ting Tings' return to form after the underperformance of their last album, but this song was totally ignored. Such a shame, since it is in my opinion one of the most instant songs released in the past year. l7CTEdDvsdk -Lenny Kravitz - The Chamber Probably his most praised & most commercial song since 'Are you gonna go my way', Lenny Kravitz was also a victim of the ageist rule, even though he looks way younger than his real age of 50. His latest album 'Strut' proved that he's still making amazing music after all these years. jAHlQ77lm10 - Chris Malinchak ft. Mikky Ekko - Stranger The number 1 that never was, 'Stranger' is a funk disco anthem good enough to rival 'Uptown Funk', yet the public didn't take notice. It proves that sometimes the best songs fail. cBtufTZr-g0 - Lights - Up We Go Very talented canadian electropop artist Lights has failed yet to score a massive hit outside of her native Canada, this song was poised to make her an international star. It didn't, but it still is IMHO one of the best songs released during the past few months, not to mention the interesting & sexy video. pFl7DhdGGzo -Will Young - Love Revolution One of the most instant songs to be released recently, Will Young's new single flopped undeservedly even though it should've been another number 1 for him. Jcv1vNqLVGg - Charli XCX - Famous Charli XCX is IMO one of the most talented female singers to emerge the past 5 years, her album 'Sucker' is so catchy & fun with so many great punk-influenced pop songs such as 'Famous', but unfortunately this single didn't get the success it deserves. 5f5A4DnGtis -Pharrell Williams ftr Daft Punk - Gust of Wind This catchy disco funk song should've been the follow up to 'Happy', instead, it was left as 4th single long after Pharrell's album was released, as a result, it didn't chart. VWSRtPTmRr4 -Christina Perri - Burning Gold The first Christina Perri song I actually like, 'Burning Gold' was the 2nd single to be released from her latest album Head or Heart. It didn't do well with the public though, probably due to the fact that it's more uptempo than her Twilight hits. -aNxhQKAXxE -Florrie - Too Young to Remember One of the most talented yet more underrated young UK female singers, Florrie has been releasing amazing pop songs since 2010, but unfortunately didn't manage to achieve any commercial success. 'Too Young to remember' was poised by critics to be her breakthrough single. It failed to do so, but it is IMO one of the catchiest songs to come out this year. AXNWaIr3DZ4 -Moko -Your Love A modern day classic, 'Your Love' is a pop dance gem by great vocalist Moko. Much influenced by 90's dance music, 'Your Love' could've been an easy top 5 if promoted properly. Such a shame it didn't do well. _xai1-qT4uA Add your underrated songs below, but remember, it has to be songs that didn't reach the official UK top 40.
  18. i hope Uptown Funk breaks One Sweet Day's record because it's a way better song not to mention it is by a British artist which will be a great achievement for Brit artists in the US...
  19. also, most people don't have the time to listen to the charts on Friday, while Sundays are usually lazy days where ppl just sit home and relax... Besides it will be less fun having all the international charts out at once... I used to enjoy listening to the UK charts on Sunday and waiting for the US charts on Wednesday.... now it's all piled up...
  20. not a good idea.... It makes more sense for chart weeks to be Mon-Sun or Sun-Sat.... it's gonna be dull from now on
  21. 5 brits in the top 10!!! that's an amazing feat....
  22. Ella's career is stronger than ever, her debut single 'Ghost' is now a big hit in the US so she is promoting over there so her current priority is promoting in the US...i doubt she will be dropped anytime soon especially after her album sold well worldwide...
  23. i don't think Queen Madge will ever stoop to this level no matter how desperate she is and how badly she wants a hit.... Besides nobody will airplay a 57 year old woman's new single, even if its Madonna.... US radio is so ageist when it comes to airplay....
  24. in all cases it'll probably miss the top 100 so why bother plan the release....
  25. They actually have 4 US top 10 hits 'What makes u beautiful', 'Live while we're young', 'Best song ever' and 'Story of my life', and many top 15 hits...so their US career is quite successful so far...
