I think One More Sleep is UK's answer to Mariah's 'All I Want...' so hopefully it will show up year after year in the UK top 40, it's an amazing Xmas song And is already been airplayed in many other countries..Xmas classic in the making...

The Billboard hot 100 Chart has become so irrelevant, anyone who makes a parody or gets naked in a video even if the background music was a song by an unknown artist can help the song reach number 1 regardless of what song is playing in the background...As much as I disagree with adding YouTube views to the chart, at least if it was to happen it should be only via the official vevo views and not some random parody video...

that's such a shame given that 'Word of Mouth' is such a solid pop album with 5 big hits and many other potential hits... they are too underrated and being overshadowed by 1D.

Sales are down 46% compared to last year in the album chart : largest year-on-year drop ever... Great to see Ellie Goulding score her second solo top 40 .... Too bad for 1D they were too close to the top 10 :(

I predict: -Eminem : 650 k -Gaga :350 k - 1D : 550 k sales would be a lot higher for them if it wasn't the worst period for sales ever in the US..

I think it will sell around 85.K which is great given the album sales climate

I think the sudden single sales decline is mainly due to the streaming services becoming trendier with each passing month, and the new deals with Spotify and the cell phone companies probably... but the good thing about this decline is that there are more and more new entries in the top 40 making the Single charts somewhat similar to that of the late 90's, early 00's which is good. I don't think it has to do with the quality of the music, since there are so many great releases the past 2 months and there will be much more before Xmas.

i hope Lorde gets that number 1.... James Arthur's song sounds like a The Script B-Side at best...

I agree with you 100%... Miley has released far superior songs in the past like 'See you again' and 'Who owns my heart' but they underperformed because she wasn't controversial and overhyped at the time.... Also, as u've said, so many unknown artists release so many great songs,which are 100 times.better than what's in the chart then get completely unnoticed because of.the lack of promotion and support.... The song only plays a small part in its success...

I'm really shocked at why all these acts decided to release the same week when the charts have been bland the past few weeks!!! couldn't the Saturdays and James Blunt have waited until next week and maybe reached the top 5 comfortably and not get lost in the chart action at the top???!!!

There are so many great songs out there that fail to make the mainstream charts for one reason or another, and that phenomenon has recently widened ever since the UK singles chart has become download only. Nowadays, Most artists only chart with the lead single or pre-album release singles , and then struggle to have another hit from the album once it's released, also a lot of new artists are finding difficulty breaking into the music industry since internet social media domination has helped increase globalization in everything, including music, where currently, fewer artists are making it the mainstream music scene and the charts, as opposed to the 90's and early 00's (where there has been at least 17 new entries in the UK top 75 which at least consist of 7 to 8 new artists per week).... List your favorite songs by mainstream and indie artists from 2013 that you think should've reached the UK Top 75 and had a wider audience but failed to do so for a reason or another.
