iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 21st April 2013
Unfortunately downloads are not yet included in the official chart, since it's mostly airplay based, they shall be included soon since iTunes has only been available in Lebanon and 50 other countries since December 2012, therefore they are still minimal compared to what they are in the UK and US... The number 1 song averages 100-150 downloads which is not much but it's still great to see a song called G.A.Y at the top somewhere....

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 21st April 2013
Yes it's a Geri song from 1999 called G.A.Y... I made a campaign among my gay friends to get it to number 1 on iTunes Lebanon for a day... And we succeeded, it was number 1 for 3 days!!!! U don't need a sim to download from iTunes... I'm using a Samsung now... Lol

US Billboard Hot 100 - 04/27/2013

Where will Rihannas Pour It Up chart?
Right Now was the most downloaded 'Unapologetic' album track internationally, u could check kworb, it was a hit everywhere and still is charting high in some countries including France and Belgium, so yes, even if i don't like it, it will be a big hit and it's an obvious choice... Loveeeeeee Song is lame and flopped in the US saleswise and only charted due to high R&B/rhythmic airplay.... 'Nobodies Business' could be a huge hit for her also due to the Chris Brown association and the fact that it sounds like the best song Michael Jackson never recorded, along with Chris Brown's 'Fine China'....

Where will Rihannas Pour It Up chart?
it hasn't been confirmed as the 3rd UK single,.i think she should release the obvious ones like 'Right Now' and 'Nobodies Business'...

Has single digital download reached its peak in the UK?
yes, it looks like so, it the US they already peaked last year, and usually the UK is 2 years behind in term of consumer habits so i'd have to say that 2014 will be the UK peak for digital sales... then it will be a shift to streaming...

Your opinions on the Thatcher chart campaign
the only good thing about this campaign is that Liza Minelli will make a few bucks out of it.... i'm.sure she.needs.every penny...

Australian female solo artists
Nicole Kidman had a solo top 75 with One Day I'll fly away.... And I can't believe u didn't put Queen Kylie at the top of the list....

Your opinions on the Thatcher chart campaign
I find it appalling and i'm not even British , celebrating the death of Thatcher is similar to what supporters of Al Qaeda did after 9/11, nobody should celebrate someone's death... It's beyond cruel to her family, friends and supporters.... And I'm sure most of the people who downloaded this song weren't even born when she was PM... That is also another proof why the physical CD days were better... There was no place for sick campaigns like this...

Selena Gomez - Come & Get It
sounds like a Rachel Stevens B-side from 2004, but it will be a hit because it's Selena and she's America's sweetheart.... in the US, the artist matters more than the song.... if it was Madonna.or Kylie releasing that song in the US, they would have made jokes about it

US Billboard Hot 100 - 04/13/2013
Cher Lloyd so close to the Hot 100!!! Come on Cher you can do it....

Do artists not care about uk chart placings?
of course, since American artists care more about US success, since it is considered the biggest achievement to crack the US market.... however some of the biggest artists such as Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams & Take That are considered half successful because of their lack of US success... cracking the US market means cracking the worldwide market...

US Billboard Hot 100 - 04/06/2013
You're sooo right, that silly rule change which led to this anomaly where the biggest selling, most airplayed, most streamed song (Thrift shop) gets stuck at number 2 behind a song only because of some school made videos using a 30 second sample of Harlem shake which helped it get to number 1... this is indeed the unfairest and silliest chart component in history of music ....

US Billboard Hot 100 - 03/30/2013
ur right... The BB Hot 100 has become a load of tosh and seriously they don't know what they're doing, they changed the rules like 100 times the past few years... What next??? Adding songs people whistle in the bathroom while showering to the official Chart??? :puke2:

US Billboard Hot 100 - 03/30/2013
Why did it say on the Billboard site that Pink was at number 9 and Lil Wayne at 10... Why the sudden change ??? Weird... And what's weirder is that Macklemore 'Thrift Shop' is by far the biggest selling song of the past 9 weeks and by far the most airplayed and the most streamed for many weeks, yet it's at number 2 behind a song that sells half as much, doesn't get any airplay, yet is at number 1 thanks to thousands of user generated 30 second meme videos on YouTube... Really Billboard Charts has lost all its relevance...
-
How long will 'Harlem Shake' stay at #1 on the Hot 100?
12 to 13 weeks... That YouTube addition is really silly, it will prevent the biggest sellers & biggest airplay hits from reaching the top... Bruno Mars and Pink should've been there instead...

Better measure of a song popularity? UK Singles or Hot 100?
Sales is the only component that really measures popularity since YouTube views only shows the popularity of a video... I think the addition of YouTube views on the BB Hot 100 totally ruined the charts since it lead to a situation where the biggest selling song in the US by far Thrift Shop was denied of number 1 because of a viral 30 second video showing people randomly dancing to a random song that people didn't even bother to spend 1.29$ on , aka Harlem Shake.... A song's success is defined by sales not by radio airplay or viral videos, that's why i think the UK chart formula is the best and most representative...

Most Overrated Artists In The UK & Worldwide
r u trying to compare 2 UK hit wonder Rita Whora with the Princess of Pop Kylie??? :o
-
Most Overrated Artists In The UK & Worldwide
she is only known in gay clubs in San Fransisco and New York, apart from that, she's only known in the US as the girl who covered 'The Locomotion', and then came back 14 years later with a dance hit in the shape of 'Can't Get you out of my head',.... and that coming from the biggest Kylie fan ever, and who has spent 6 months in the US...
