  1. Rita Ora's new single Anywhere should be in the top 5 asap .... her catchiest most instant song yet...
  2. Wow he almost sold 10 copies to reach that position... platimum soon :P

'friends' is not the lead single from Bieber's next album and it was never promoted as such, it's only a DJ collaboration same as '2 u' or 'cold water' or 'let me love u' so it can't be counted as such... On another note, i hope Niall Horan moves to the A list with Too much to ask, such a great song...

That Michael Jackson release is so pointless... random songs from his back catalogue put together.... Hopefully Betsy can make it into the top 30, such an amazing album...
  5. It's so frustrating that Niall Horan is still stuck at number 11 even though he's been top 5 in sales and airplay for a few weeks now...
  6. Are you seriously comparing International pop star Ricky Martin to one hit wonder Lou Bega? Ricky Martin has had tons of hits worldwide and is still scoring hits to this day, one of his latest hits Vente Pa Ca recently reached 1.2 Billion views on YouTube, and some of his recent hits have reached 800 million views worldwide... I don't see Lou Bega achieveing any of this now... not to mention Ricky Martin has scored 8 top 20 hits in the UK so there's nothing to compare..

Totally agree, Roulette is the obvious choice but her label already chose Save as draft as the next single...
  8. probably yes, but who knows? he might surprise us by featuring Rihanna like DJ Khaled did after his feature with Bieber...
  9. It should be, its an amazing song, 'Slow Hands' would've been at top 3 in both the UK and US if it wasn't for its low streaming... He's really underrated...

The new Sam Smith single is so dull, i expected a change of direction for him but it seems we have to content ourselves with an album of boring tuneless ballads which will be in the HMV discount shelf by the end of the year...

Yes, with 800 copies sold!!! Real slayage :D
  12. They should add airplay to the chart as well as Youtube streaming, and also add a recurring song rule which eliminates all old songs from the bottom of the chart, and only keep the ones that make it into the top 20...
  13. Where is the connection between James Arthur and acts like Steps and Craig David or Geri???? James started his career in 2013, while those three were most popular in the late 90s-early 00s
  14. 'Despacito' is so overrated.... if it wasn't for Bieber's inclusion it would have never made it into the top 100 anywhere...

Great comment, i Agree with most of what u said even though I liked Swish Swish and i was shocked it wasn't a hit...to sum things up, i think the main reason behind Katy's new era's relative failure is that she stopped catering to young and teen female audiences and started targeting gay adult males, which is harmful in the short run but very helpful in the long run, just like Madonna's Erotica album... Katy Perry's managment knows that her days as a teen idol are almost over since she's now approaching her mid 30s,, and instead are promoting her as a gay icon, and her appearance with drag queens on Swish Swish's SNL performance just confirms that.... Bon Appetit and Swish Swish were panned by her teen audiences, but the gays loved these two songs.... the only problem with her new album though is thAt it doesn't sound like the 3 singles at all, which is a shame, and instead is an autotuned ballads collections and fails to excite her new target audience....
  16. But worldwide Niall was way more popular than Louis and even Liam so far... This town was a US top 20 hit and a worldwide top 10 , while Slow Hands is currently in the US itunes top 10... while Louis' song barely made it in the US top 100, and Liam Payne didn't reach the top 40 with his debut single...

I hope Jamiroquai could stick to the number 2 spot, such an amazing comeback album... Also Goldfrapp's album is so good , i hope it gets the success it deserves....
  18. Exactly, the new rule should be that only singles are allowed to chart plus the top 2 most popular album tracks, that will keep the chart from being flooded with one artist's tracks , and also popular album tracks would still be allowed to chart allowing music fans to have a say in their artists' future single releases....

There should be a new rule where no artist is allowed more than 3 songs per chart week... or they should decrease the streaming rate to 1:500 instead of 1:150. The chart looks so ridiculous nowadays and pointless...
  20. the physical era of course, we used to have an average of 14-15 new entries in the top 40 each week which made the charts a lot faster and more interesting, and it helped the casual music fans discover more new artists... the charts currently are so boring and stale that it's impossible to enjoy especially since everything is so predictable nowadays, you just have to look at the iTunes chart or the spotify chart and you'd immediately figure out which songs are in the charts...back in the physical era, the charts were so full of surprises that we wouldn't know who made it into the top 10 until the new chart is announced.... besides, downloads and streaming have made it impossible for older acts to make it into the charts, as opposed to the physical era where we used to have a mixture of older and newer acts....

I wish Ed had released one of his singles on Christmas week, then we wouldn't have had Rockabye which is the most awful Christmas number 1 atrocity since the birth of Jesus Christ...
  23. Kiesza's song is really good and catchy, but her vocals r really annoying in it, it should've performed by someone else with a slighty more modern production...
  24. There's no competition whatsoever... MJ is the real deal, the one and only king of pop!!!!
  25. I don't think he cares that much about the UK charts, he should've done that in the US but he already lost the battle this week to Sia's Cheap Thrills....
