Yeah but it's Mylene Farmer tbh, the biggest artist in France ever, not mentioning the fact that her core audience median age is 35 and above.... Just look at the sales during the rest of the year in France, pretty much awful as it is in the UK... A few weeks back , a number 10 album would sell about 4 k to reach it... So it's not the market who's much better really....
  2. yeah but it didn't get a single release during the Blackout era caus Britney was in rehab back then, it got released as the 4th single from Circus, and flopped badly...

album sales going down has NOTHING to do with high prices since they are lower now than ever in the UK .... When I was in the UK in the summer I went to HMV Oxford Street and I bought many new releases for 5 £ each such as Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, Madonna , Nicki Minaj, Keane and many others which in mainland Europe or in my country Lebanon would have cost me 20 $ each.. So the price excuse is irrelevant... It's all about Internet downloads, mostly free ones + cherry picking thru iTunes which mostly killed the album market in an irreversible way....
  4. Britney 'Radar' it should've been released during the Blackout era not the Circus one... By the time it was released it sounded outdated....
  5. I never meant to be rude, i was just being sarcastic ....
  6. what part of 'underrated' have we missed here??? this song is one of the most overrated songs in chart history, number 1 in 20 countries and sounds like a Boney M leftover from 1976 translated into portugese and recorded in his bathroom... this definitly should not be on this list, same goes for Demi Levato and Ellie Goulding who both scored huge US hits.... when i said underrated i didn't only mean the UK chart.....

the end of HMV will definitely mean the end of the physical album.... i don't think Digital albums will ever sell as much as physicals since they are lower quality + they are available everywhere on the net for free, you don't need to buy it to get it.... i don't think the price is the main reason behind HMV sales shrinking, it's downloads: free & paid, albums were as expensive in the 90's yet they were selling by the millions.... as an example, i used to buy at least 15 albums per month, while now i only buy 1 or 2 since most of the albums i want to buy i'd already get bored off by the time i get to the music shop...
  8. -Adam Lambert - Cuckoo & Trespassing Adam Lambert managed to release one of the most exciting pop albums of 2012, yet he didn't promote it anywhere: the result an undeserved flop, songs like 'Cuckoo' and 'Trespassing' are absolute classic pop songs sounding like Queen meets the Scissor Sisters.... W7PXcM8R1EE VBKP7UqxQVM -Little Boots - Every Night I Say A prayer She released this gorgeous 80's tribute infectious pop song , yet no one noticed except some of her loyal gay fans. GECfUuqS8yc -Kylie Minogue- Flower One of the most touching songs she has ever released, and if she had released it pre-digital-ageism age then it could've been a top 10 hit for her for sure... shame it flopped miserably... et-RT1INf7c -Nelly Furtado - Waiting For the night. Nelly Furtado surprisingly decided NOT to release the most instant hit on her hugely underrated album 'Spirit Indestructible' which is 'Waiting for the night' but decided to go for the tuneless 'Big hoops' which sounds like a Rihanna leftover from 2007.... jP4gGcpil8I -Madonna - Love Spent One of the highlights on her underrated album MDNA is 'Love Spent' which is one of the best songs she has recorded over the past 10 years.... auLbyinTitE -Lifehouse ftr Natasha Bedingfield - Between the raindrops A classic that never was, & it wasn't released in the UK and flopped in the US. dG6-bU6esKo -The Beat Goes On - Alphabeat They were popular once in the UK, but then disappeared but remained semi-popular in Scandinavia... This 80's throwback is as camp as they get but deserved to be big!!! khHuC8iQ1CM -Alexandra Burke - Tonight Outstanding vocals, infectious dance beats, a very catchy chorus, this song had number 1 written all over it, but Alexandra's feud with Syco led to her amazing album being ditched down the bargain bins with the rest of her music career. Such a shame. Kfg7dEbJkJM -Bananarama - Now or Never This should've been Girls Aloud's comeback single, not the annoying 'Something new'. Pure pop genius... 9WyjBU2To70 -No Doubt - Settle Down The flop of this catchy ska classic is another proof of the growing ageism in the worldwide music industry digital era.. Pb_zZ3xItPI - Noisettes - Want You back This genius pop song sounds like Duffy gone electro but in a great way!!! Enjoy.... qptBI9flBDY -Garbage - Blood for poppies Travelled all the way fom Beirut, Lebanon to Manchester to watch them perfom live, and it was well worth it... this is one of the highlights of their comeback album 'Not your kind of people' which unfortunatly was only fan-bought.... 4OdTBCgqRt4 -Amanda Jenssen - Volcano Swing Rolling in the deep 2.0 Adele, take some notes..... R4LGj_TYerA
  9. So it didn't chart , anyway, it was before Robyn's Show me love....
  10. probably the last swedish act to reach the billboard Hot 100 top 10 is Robyn back in 1997 with 'Show me love'.. however the most succesful swedish act of all time on the Billboard Hot 100 is Roxette with 4 number 1's while Abba and Ace of Base only scored one each....
  11. yeah but two hits don't make her a worldwide star, she needs at least 6 or 7 huge hits before she could start competing with Rihanna, Gaga,Katy Perry, Pink, Britney, Beyonce for the title of international superstar female of the moment...
  12. exactly my thoughts, i mean what was he thinking.going against the xfactor winner and thus denying Miss.Britney her 6th.number one....
  13. er.... i was being sarcastic... ;) i'm a Kylie mega-fan, actually the biggest in the world, i've travelled at least 8 times in my lifetime to watch her live in other countries and at least spent a fortune on that and on her cd's and tickets.... so i know what i'm talking about ^_^ But, as a mega-fan, i don't want her to be reduced to that one song, she has one of the biggest back catalogues in the music indsuty ever, then why should she limit herself to that one song only while she could've performed a zillion others????
  14. i dunno, let her figure out... maybe an accoustic version of 'Timebomb'... :puke2:
  15. Number 1 single should be Britney Tlll the world.ends Number 1 album Kylie Abbey Road Sessions...
  16. Kylie wastes another live performance again by singing a pointless reworking of an 11 year old mega-hit... i mean what was she thinking?!! couldn't she do Flower or another new recording??!!
  17. Why isn't Alex Clare in purple???? Glad to see Ellie Goulding reaching a new peak....
  18. they peaked very low, and 'T.H.E' barely reached the top 40 on the BB Hot 100 while 'This is love' failed to chart. we can all safely say that 'Scream & shout's huge US success is mainly due to Britney's feature...
  19. i don't think Pink ever repeated herself performance-wise, so i don't think she'll do the same performance again....
  20. and with her worst album.to date.....
  21. well not really, there are loads of other artists with more talent...
  22. j3N70bz-GvQ Nobody's Business is now confimed to be second single.... good track in my opinion... but bad collaboration. reminds me of Whitney and Bobby 'Something in common'....
  23. when will Marina and the Diamonds How to be a heartbreaker be released in the UK???
