  1. duets and features don't count: only solo number 1's do, therefore Emeli hasn't scored any number 1's so far...

So glad the Pet Shop Boys and Example are at 40 midweeks: Thursday is such an epic pop masterpiece....
  3. I predict: -Eminem : 650 k -Gaga :350 k - 1D : 550 k sales would be a lot higher for them if it wasn't the worst period for sales ever in the US..
  4. I think it will sell around 85.K which is great given the album sales climate
  5. Geri's back :yahoo: !!!! i know she has more chance of getting struck by lightning than reach number 1 again but here is her shot at extending her record.... oLbwVgFueuo

I think the sudden single sales decline is mainly due to the streaming services becoming trendier with each passing month, and the new deals with Spotify and the cell phone companies probably... but the good thing about this decline is that there are more and more new entries in the top 40 making the Single charts somewhat similar to that of the late 90's, early 00's which is good. I don't think it has to do with the quality of the music, since there are so many great releases the past 2 months and there will be much more before Xmas.
  7. Same Love actually did very very well in the UK reaching number 6 and staying in the top 10 for many weeks. No one expected it to do this well especially since the album was released at the beginning of the year. On a different note, so glad to see so many new entries in the UK Singles Top 75: feels like the 90's all over again... :D

Not good sales for Katy, she will struggle to sell 60 k by the end of the week i suppose....
  9. Dark Horse posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
I think Katy will sell 65 k eventually and James Blunt 15k which might put them comfortably at numbers 1 and 2...
  10. i can't believe Morsheeba only entered at number 99.....such a great album. How much did it sell? 100 copies? I'm sure it doesn't take more to reach the album chart these days.
  11. i hope Lorde gets that number 1.... James Arthur's song sounds like a The Script B-Side at best...
  12. Out of all the good songs from 'Prism' such as Birthday and This Is How We Do, why did Katy choose the weak Unconditionally as the 2nd single? :puke2:
  13. I've been doing my own personal charts since 1988 ( i was 9 at the time) and still have them written by pen until 1996... that's when i shifted to PC formats....
  14. why is ur name in arabic? هل تتکلم العربیه؟ وفی حال الایحاب من ایه دوله انت؟
  15. Bought the Cher album two weeks ago aand i have to say 'Woman's world' is the worst song in there... She should've released the disco anthem 'Dressed to kill'....

Totally agree... The UK Charts looked best in the 1995-2003 era when there was almost 20 new entries in the Top 75 each week and 13 in the top 40 also which made the charts more interesting an more fun... the past 5 years were just boring and predictable chart-wise with an average of 3 new entries per week...
  17. I agree with you 100%... Miley has released far superior songs in the past like 'See you again' and 'Who owns my heart' but they underperformed because she wasn't controversial and overhyped at the time.... Also, as u've said, so many unknown artists release so many great songs, which are 100 times.better than what's in the chart then get completely unnoticed because of.the lack of promotion and support.... The song only plays a small part in its success...
  18. I'm really shocked at why all these acts decided to release the same week when the charts have been bland the past few weeks!!! couldn't the Saturdays and James Blunt have waited until next week and maybe reached the top 5 comfortably and not get lost in the chart action at the top???!!!
  19. Totally agree with Dragonette's latest album, but Roisin Murphy hasn't released anything since 2010...

I hope the top 2 albums can manage 30k but I doubt given that 28 copies only separate the two so sales must be abysmal.
  21. There are so many great songs out there that fail to make the mainstream charts for one reason or another, and that phenomenon has recently widened ever since the UK singles chart has become download only. Nowadays, Most artists only chart with the lead single or pre-album release singles , and then struggle to have another hit from the album once it's released, also a lot of new artists are finding difficulty breaking into the music industry since internet social media domination has helped increase globalization in everything, including music, where currently, fewer artists are making it the mainstream music scene and the charts, as opposed to the 90's and early 00's (where there has been at least 17 new entries in the UK top 75 which at least consist of 7 to 8 new artists per week).... List your favorite songs by mainstream and indie artists from 2013 that you think should've reached the UK Top 75 and had a wider audience but failed to do so for a reason or another. Here are my fave hidden gems of 2013: Please do review them and tell me which ones you like, and then post your own hidden gems... Marina and The Diamonds - How to be a heartbreaker I still can't figure out how this pop classic failed to make the UK top 75 while it was by far Marina's poppiest most accessible song ever, and after it was used on Glee. Such a shame. Maybe it was the homo-erotic video that put people off the song.... Same can also be said of her Electra heart campaign, too bad : such an underrated pop album... vKNcuTWzTVw Pet Shop Boys & Example - Thursday I know it's hard for the ageing 80's pop legends Pet shop Boys to score a hit in modern era UK charts since most radios refuse to airplay songs by older acts. But in my opinion their songs ' Thursday' and 'Love is a bourgeois construct' sound better than 90% of what's being fed to us on most radios.. 9Tg_zvDg3Xo Natalia Kills- Saturday Night One of the most talented, most underrated singers ever, her debut album 'Perfectionist' was largely ignored in the UK , and her most recent album 'Trouble' failed to chart 'Saturday night', 'Trouble' and 'Outta time' could've been huge hits if released by Katy Perry or Rihanna , but are left unknown to the general public due to lack of exposure and selective airplay. _cnD_efmM6s Natalia Kills - Outta Time vUcN1evFcCA Jessie Ware - Imagine It Was Us Disco-pop heaven from one of the best female artists to emerge from the UK the past 3 years, 'Imagine it was us' was destined for great things in the year when Daft Punk scored one of the biggest songs of 2013 with a disco song, yet it flopped big time which is a real shame... u03f5Wnwff0 Mika Ftr Ariana Grande- Popular Song A collaboration made in pop heaven, but Mika has faded quickly in the UK since his multi-million selling debut album 'Life in cartoon motion' but is still famous in France, Spain & many other countries. 'Popular Song' could've been a number 1 if released during his peak in 2008, same can also be said for his other collaboration with Pharrell Williams 'Celebrate'. nmcdLOjGVzw Mika Ftr Pharrell Williams - Celebrate sIBXTHB0QDw BLITZKIDS mvt. - Cold I can't believe that this amazing german pop group didn't reach international success since they release some of the most infectious electro-pop hooks that Artpop Gaga would kill for... mwkVeLfjfO4 BLITZKIDS mvt. - Heart on the Line voPKgHiKJC0 Moby- The Perfect Life He was one of the biggest selling artists in the UK in the early 2000's, but now he faded away, even though he just released his most commercial song ever, 'The Perfect Life'. t3ZDqe5j4q8 Ciara - Overdose One of the most instant songs of 2013, had it been released by Rihanna, it could've been number 1 for many weeks, amazing pop-R&B gem from Ciara's new album. n2tVKoAhPls Florrie - Live a little Pop genius song from Florrie, an underrated talented UK pop artist that plays all the instruments in her songs. 'Live a little' was destined to be her breakthrough single after several failed attempts, but it proved to be another unfortunate failure. -fIllISLx3M

i think Kings of Leon will sell 45 k eventually followed by Drake with 37 k and Jessie J with 32 k. a lot of great new albums out this week. CHVRCHES is already one of my faves of 2013.
