  1. u should say who u voted for, otherwise, how could i tell?
  2. it will, i'm sure one of these 5 singers will get to her 4th number 1 soon.... plus, what have you got to lose??? :)
  3. yes but now it's the final based on the top 5 female singers chosen by Buzzjack voters in last week's thread, plus each winner will get a free legal copy of the winning song. that's why everyone should post who they voted for.
  4. Currently Geri Haliwell holds the record for most number 1 hits by a UK female in the UK charts with 4 number 1's : 'Mi chico latino', 'Lift me up' , 'Bag it up' and 'It's raining men' more than 10 years ago.... No other female artist has achieved that feat since then: however, a few have gotten close....like Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis, Pixie Lott and Alexandra Burke who each have 3 number 1's but unlikely to score a 4th anytime soon, Rita Ora has 2 solo ('Hot Right Now' is a Collaboration ), also Jessie J has 2. But now that Geri's back with her new single 'Half of me', she might extend her record to 5 number 1's (actually not really but I was being sarcastic)... B-) oLbwVgFueuo
  5. i think it's more important now to get a number 1 single than in the past since the chart has become a lot slower, and since sales have gone up... also, back in 2000 we had a new number 1 each week, now we only have 1 number 1 per 3 weeks on average.... plus in the UK Top 75 we had 18 new entries average back in 2000, now it's maximum of 4 to 5 new entries per week.... peak postion is more impotant than sales for an artist, just look at Mc Fly, they can claim to have had 7 number 1's but no one remembers how much they sold ( average 70 k per single overall) , only the die hard chart fans remember.....
  6. not really... Drake's 'Take care' went from number 12 to number 7 after the addition of streaming, plus a lot of new entries & r-entries in the BB Hot 100... it's definitly not 5 %, at least 30 %....
  7. they changed the chart rules 2 WEEKS AGO... 'Part of me' entered at number 1 almost 5 weeks ago!!!!
  8. Yeah but the chart rules have changed since then... Cf my older post.... Now under the new chart rules, Justin will not be able to reach number 1 unless he sells around 600 k
  9. it's not sure 'Boyfriend' will be number 1 on the BB Hot 100 under the current chart rules changes which gave airplay & On Demand songs a far greater impact!!!! it needs at least to sell 600 k now to compete for number 1 under the new chart rules!!
  10. both Wanted & One Direction are increasing very fast... great times for Brit boy bands..... :)
  11. yeah especially with the inclusion of the On Demand Chart....
  12. Dark Horse posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Usually some songs are labelled as promotional or buzz tracks, that's if they flop (eg. Madonna ,Leona Lewis, Nicki Minaj ....) but they're really lead singles if they have a video attached, it means the artist had the intention of promoting it, yet it didn't turn out to be a hit so they move on to the next...
  13. I wanted to ad Jessie J to the list but then completly forgot, however all the people who voted 'Other' are naming Jessie J so i'm counting these votes for her.... It's again really weird to see Pixie Lott in the lead....
  14. Don't say that :( Geri is a really great singer, she's a gay icon too & she deserved her 4 number 1's.... they are all great songs, very campish & fun....
  15. wanted top 5 tomorrow.... Adele is stalling....
  16. i don't like the thought either but what the hell if it gets her to number 1 & extend her record!!!
  17. but two weeks ago sales accounted for more than 70% of the BB Hot 100 which meant that a new entry at number 1 on the Digital Songs Chart would definitly lead to a new entry in the top 5 ( sometimes number 1) in the BB Hot 100, while now it's really harder since new songs have usually low airplay, which means that even a top 10 now isn't guaranteed for the number 1 selling song in the country!!!! i mean why can't they just make a chart completely based on sales just like the rest of the world???? isn't sales what actually reflects the taste of the buying public???? if people don't like a song enough to spend 1.29$ to buy it, then why on hell should it chart????
  18. i'm sure itunes sales will decrease 20% year on year after that.... why bother buy a track that u can listen to whenever & wherever u want???? streaming, after illegal downloading, will help kill the already dying music industry....
  19. it would be a dream come true!!!! i love Geri.... maybe she should feature Labyrinth , Wretch 32 or Tinie Tempah in order to do so....
  20. yes, but at least we have high new entries on the Digital charts, some even top 5 and high climbers while in the Official Chart it's getting slower and slower since that silly On Demand chart was included...
  21. i hope Geri's record will not be tied but i think it will be Alexandra Burke.... or none.... maybe Jessie J too....
  22. Currently Geri Haliwell holds the record for most number 1 hits by a UK female in the UK charts with 4 number 1's : 'Mi chico latino', 'Lift me up' , 'Bag it up' and 'It's raining men' more than 10 years ago.... No other female artist has achieved that feat since then, however, a few have gotten close....recently Alexandra Burke with 'Elephant' which could've tied the record if reached number 1 since Alexandra has already 3.... Which female is in your opinion the most likely to tie or break that record, i chose the most active & current UK female singers among the contenders, therefore no Gabrielle, Kim Wilde , Melanie C, Shirley Bassey, Billie Piper or other UK females which are not really likely to score a top 40 single let alone a number 1.... Vote for which UK female from the list above you think will tie the record first, and between brackets their total of number 1's so far.... Voting Is Now Closed In This Thread. Please Vote In This One. Which UK Female Will Tie Geri Haliwell's record first?, Final Voting After First Eliminations. Five Final Contenders. Prizes.
  23. The BB hot 100 chart has become so slow and boring since the inclusion of streaming 2 weeks ago.... I can't believe One Direction are only at number 19 considering that their song is number 7 on Digital charts....
  24. right , but her last 3 songs are nowhere to be seen in the top 50, which led to the huge drop for 'Rumour has it'.... besides Tyga, Jay Z & kanye , Drake & Lil Wayne are all occupying the On Demand Chart with some OLDER tracks of theirs which means that these songs have been a lot higher in the charts a few weeks back....
  25. maybe not but it gives you an idea of what's there to come and which musical genre streaming is helping.... and we can all tell it's R&B/hip hop.... and why suddenly they decided to do it now??? it's a known fact that UK acts were not getting any airplay during the 90's & 2000's, huge UK acts tried to break it Stateside but their success was halted by the fact that they were not played by US radio (eg: Robbie Williams, Sugababes, Steps, Blur & many others) they are not punishing it, they are just preventing it from competing with home-grown acts....
