As many of us fans agree that Leona's album campaigns have been a disaster in terms of single releases, this is what I would have done if I was her record label. The Spirit Era - October 2007 Bleeding Love - October 2007 Angel - January 2008 Take A Bow - April 2008 These 3 singles would have secured Leona with a solid fanbase. Bleeding Love was the hit she needed to kick start her career and was a smash hit all over the world. Angel, although wasn't a favourite, would have kept the fans happy as she was continuing with the ballads, but also having hints of uptempo to gain new fans. I would have released Take A Bow as the 3rd single as that was a fan favourite and would have set the charts alight. I would then have re-released Spirit with the original c.d plus 4 extra songs and a short documentary on her rise to fame. The new tracks would have been: - Forgive Me - Run - Misses Glass - Nowhere Left To Go (ft cassidy) I would then have released the following singles: Forgive me - September 2008 Run - December 2008 Forgive Me was the perfect uptempo song that suited Leona. It showed the fans she was capable of doing uptempo's and having a bit more of a personality. Ending the era with Run was absolute genius. From the moment she done Radio 1 Live Lounge, it was destined to be a single. The Echo Era - November 2009 Cant Breathe - November 2009 I Got You - February 2010 Outta My Head - May 2010 To kick start the 2nd era, I would have had Leona release another ballad as that's where her strengths lie. Cant Breathe was the song that should have been released as the lead single as her vocals are absolutely amazing. I would have kept I Got You as the 2nd single as it was radio-friendly and was the perfect mid-tempo to be released around that time of year. Outta My Head should have been the 3rd single. It was a genuine pop classic that could have seen Leona reach new heights. For the re-release of Echo, I would have included a 2nd c.d and included the following 8 songs: - Scene Of The Crime - Breaking Into Pieces - Perfection - Let Somebody Love You - Danger Made Me - Perfect Stranger - A Thousand Lights - I See You To make sure the re-release went smoothingly, I would have released the 2 following singles: Perfection - August 2010 Scene Of The Crime - November 2010 Perfection would have been the perfect single to kick off the re-release as it's a ballad, which Leona is stronger with. Perfection also has the summery vibe, so would have been a great summer single. Scene Of The Crime should have been the 2nd single from the re-release of Echo. It has that R&B feeling, something which I think suits Leona's voice. It would have also given Leona a chance to do a killer performance on The X Factor. The other 6 songs on the re-release of Echo wouldn't have been released as it would have enticed more people to buy the album. The 8 songs on the re-release of Echo would have given her fans an indication of what album 3 would sound like.

  10. 10 - sound of the underground - brilliant 1st single 10 - no good advice - great follow up and a perfect way to cement them into the pop industry 09 - life got cold - a personal favourite of mine 07 - jump - slightly overated but still a good pop song 09 - the show - pure genius 10 - love machine - fun and bubbly pop song which is remembered by most fans 08 - i'll stand by you - a great cover version by the girls. shows off their vocals well 10 - wake me up - a great single with a great beat, good way to end an era 07 - long hot summer - great choice for the summer, but doesn't appeal to me in a way the other singles do 10 - biology - amazing pop song which saw the girls go from strength to strength 08 - see the day - another good ballad showing the girls at their best vocally 08 - whole lotta history - slightly underated single. beautiful ballad 10 - something kinda oooh - what can I say, perfect pop song. love it..!! 07 - I think were alone now - not a favourite of mine, but still fun to listen too 08 - walk this way - I believe the girls done a good version of this song considering it wasn't their style 10 - sexy no no no - amazing intro and a great uptempo song which is great to sing and dance too 11 - call the shots - my all time favourite girls aloud single. stunning and beautiful midtempo, should have reached #1 10 - can't speak french - brilliant fun and quirky single 10 - the promise - A deserving number 1 by the girls. the moment they became more noticed 10 - the loving kind - a splendid follow up to the promise. lovely lyrics and beat. 09 - untouchable - another great single. slightly ruined by the radio edit but still amazing As you can see, I believe that they are getting stronger with each album, although the chemistry era singles wise bar biology was a slight dip in their career. Tangled Up is clearly their best album with the most amazing material the girls have ever recoreded.
  11. Sound Of The Underground - May 2003 1 - Sound of the underground - December 2002 2 - No good advice - May 2003 3 - Life got cold - August 2003 4 - Jump - November 2003 IMO, the first era was done to perfection. Sound of the underground was a brilliant first single and it gave the girls an edge. Showing they mean business, they released no good advice as the second single, which showed they had attitude and weren't afraid to show it. Life got cold was the perfect choice for a third single as it showed another sound for the girls. The first era ended perfectly as Jump showed the fun and bubbly side to the girls which wasn't seen with their first 3 singles. What Will The Neighbours Say - September 2004 5 - The show - June 2004 6 - Love Machine - September 2004 7 - I'll stand by you - November 2004 8 - Wake me up - February 2005 9 - Graffiti my soul - April 2005 The seond era was also done perfection. The show really was a great promotion single and it gave the fans of girls aloud that the second era was going to be much bigger than the first. Love machine captured the hearts of many fans with it's quirky lyrics and strong beat and although I'll stand by you was a cover version, it really gave the girls a chance to show their true vocals. Wake me up was a good single choice as it showed the fans they still had attitude and the perfect way to end the era would have been if they released Graffiti my soul as the final single. That would have cemeted the girls more fans as it showed them at their best. Chemistry - November 2005 10 - Biology - November 2005 11 - Whole lotta history - February 2006 12 - Waiting - May 2006 13 - Long hot summer - August 2006 To kick start the third era, they should have released Biology. This is like five songs wrapped into one and it would have gained them another number 1 if released and promoted heavily as it quickly became a fan favourite. Next, I would have had them release Whole lotta history around valentines day as it would have suited the theme well. It would have also showcased the girls vocals once again. Next, I would have released Waiting as that shows a different style of music to the singles they have previously released. I would have ended the era with Long hot summer just for a fun single during the summer. Tangled Up - November 2007 14 - Sexy no no no - August 2007 15 - Call the shots - November 2007 16 - Something kinda ooooh - March 2008 17 - Can't speak french - June 2008 18 - Girl overboard - August 2008 The Tangled Up era was absolutely amazing the way it was, only I would have released Girl overboard as the 5th and final single and would have also included Something kinda ooooh on the album. Sexy no no no no was the perfect lead single. The beginning of the song captured the audiences attention from the off and it proved to be a great tour opener. Call the shots (best single to date) was the perfect second single as it showed a mature side to the girls, which previous singles didn't really show. Instead of releasing the Greatest Hits, I would have included Something kinda ooooh onto the Tangled Up album and release it as the 3rd single as it would have flowed well during that era. Can't speak french showed that the girls may have matured, but still have fun with their music. Girl overboard ending the era would have made the album sell by the bucket load as it was a show stopper and was clearly a fan favourite and would have gained them new fans from afar. Out Of Control - October 2009 19 - The Promise - October 2009 20 - Miss you bow wow - January 2010 21 - The loving kind - April 2010 22 - Rolling back the rivers - July 2010 23 - Untouchable - September 2010 The promise was a great lead single to start the 5th era. It sounded completely different to anything they have ever done before and it gained them loads of new fans. It was also at this point where the girls could do no wrong. Miss you bow wow would have made the best second single due to the fact it's got catchy lyrics and a great beat. For the third single, I would have went with The loving kind. It would have shown the girls being mature once more and it works its way around Call the shots in terms of the sound. For the 4th single, I would have had them release Rolling back the rivers. The reason for this is due to the fact that it sounds summery and could have had a great summer video. To end the era, I would have went with Untouchable as it clearly was a fan favourite at the time of the album release.

  14. If you had the chance to create your own Leona tour, how would you design it and what would be your setlist..? I would personally keep the theme of the current tour and my setlist would be.... 01 - Forgive Me 02 - Don't Let Me Down 03 - I'm You 04 - Better In Time 05 - Whatever It Takes 06 - Brave 07 - Alive 08 - Yesterday 09 - My Hands 10 - Take A Bow 11 - Love Letter 12 - The Best You Never Had 13 - Homeless 14 - Stop Crying Your Heart Out 15 - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face 16 - Broken 17 - Footprints In The Sand 18 - Happy 19 - Can't Breathe 20 - Angel 21 - I Got You 22 - Misses Glass 23 - Naked 24 - Outta My Head 25 - Run 26 - Bleeding Love There would be no cover versions apart from the ones that appeared on her two albums. Let me know what you think of the setlist and it would be nice to see your idea's.
  15. I say these singles would be successful if released now: Sound of the underground Life got cold The show Love machine I'll stand by you Biology Something kinda ooooh Sexy no no no Call the shots Can't speak french The promise I believe the other singles were just a bit too weak or were released at the right time. The album tracks that could be big right now are: Girls Allowed Graffiti my soul Here we go Waiting Close to love Girl overboard Blackjacks Control of the knife Fling Turn to stone Miss you bow wow Revolution in the head
  16. If you were Mariah's management team, how would you have handled the single releases..? Firstly, I would have stuck to the same sound as the album is now but just give it that slight edge by doing early promo campaigns using teasers and preview clips of some of the tracks. For the single releases, this would have been my preferred order: 1 - Obsessed (Great way to begin the era. Would have planned more promotion in the UK and released it at the end of August.) 2 - Angel's Cry (Would have released this as the second single as it shows Mariah at her best and also shows that she still has the voice given the right material. Would have had her perform on the X Factor and would have made the video more of a storyteller. Released mid November.) 3 - Standing O (Would have shown another side to the album compared to the previous two singles. The video would have a good concept to it e.g. Mariah teaching an ex a thing of two after playing her. Released end of February.) 4- Up Out My Face (A fun song to see into the beginning of the summer. Would have the current video which as already been filmed for it as it shows the fun side of Mariah and would release it mid May.) 5 - Hate U (A nice warm ballad to end othe summer and the era. Shows Mariah at her best yet again, but still this ballad is different comapred to some of her other ballads from previous albums. The video would have Mariah on a deserted island staring at a vision of herself and an ex. Released at end of August.) For the album release, I would have released it two weeks after Angel's cry. That way, the two singles would have had time to build up the anticipation for the album and would have capatilised on the xmas sales. I would have had her to do alot more promotion for this album in the UK and also tried to get her an hour slot on ITV to perform some tracks from the album along with some classis tracks. Just before the album's release, I would have got her to do a one off concert at wembley arena just so the public could see that she still does have her voice and that way, the public would have also got more excited over the release of the album. How would you have planned this era if you were in charge..?
  17. One song that come to mind for me is Melanie C - Carolyna. The song is more pop/rock which is sort of the trend at the moment. I believe if she released it around March/April time, she would have a chance at making the top 15 with it, possibly even top 10.

I think this era should have went in a another direction all together. She should have released her first single and the album around the summer and ended the era around March this year. I would have went with these songs to be singles: 1: My life would suck without you (July 2009) 2: Long shot (September 2009) 3: Cry (November 2009) 4: Don't let me stop you (January 2010) 5: Impossible (March 2010) I would have released the singles within 2 months of each other so the album would have been consistently selling. I would have chosen those months as stated above to release the singles as there is little competiton around that time. For the album release, I would have personally released it 2 weeks after the first single. That way, the single would have been selling and the anticipation for the album would have built over those 2 weeks.

If you were the manager of Sugababes and had to chose which singles would make the perfect album, which singles would you choose? You can choose up to 14 singles and has to be more than 10 singles. Mine would be: 1 Girls 2 Stronger 3 Push the button 4 Round round 5 Denial 6 Too lost in you 7 Red dress 8 Hole in the head 9 Ugly 10 In the middle 11 Easy 12 About you now
  20. My choice of 5 singles would be: 1 - Obsessed - August 2009 (open the album with a bang and the song caused a little media coverage due to the fact its supposedly aimed at Eminem) 2 - Angels Cry - November 2009 (This is the best ballad on the album and released a few weeks before xmas would ensure its a smash as its got the xmasy vibe to it) 3 - Standing O - February 2010 (This song could potentially work as the 3rd single. It would show another side to the album) 4 - Up Out My Face - May 2010 (Perfect song to be released heading into the summer) 5 - Hate U - September 2010 (Another strong ballad on the album which is along the lines of some of her previous ballads) I would also go with a 6th single which would be either: 1 - It's A Wrap 2 - Betcha Gon Know 3 - Languishing
