Official Chart Flashback
The Leona Lewis double A-side charted in 2008 (Better In Time / Footprints In The Sand) with Footprints In The Sand also charting on its own lower down (downloads of Better In Time being combined with the physical and download bundle). As suggested by the quotes from the time, this is completely wrong - its #35 entry was on downloads of a re-mixed version. Its first week at #1 was on downloads of the original and re-mixed version(s), with the physical following the next week.

Bad Company - drum and bass group (whose members included DJ Fresh) who had 2 minor hits in 2002 before changing their name to Bad Company UK (despite the other Bad Company also being from the UK!) and reaching the top 20 in 2003. Dance Chart Number Ones 2000 - 2009
Tom Novy also had 2 top 40 hits as part of Novy vs Eniac. Your Body had in fact charted a couple of weeks earlier as a track on Various Artists - United Nations Of House - Volume 1 (it charted at #71). I'm guessing that Your Body was considered the 'lead' track on this single (i.e. the track whose downloads counted alongside the physical release as per the chart rules at the time) prior to the single release of Your Body, which the downloads then got transferred to.

The initially published version of this chart had another entry for One Step Too Far at #68 - it was quickly realised that it should not have been there, and was thus removed.

Biggest trendsetting chart hits
Taio Cruz - Come On Girl in early 2008 seemed to kickstart the 'urban artists going down the dance route' craze that was massive for the next few years (e.g. David Guetta collaborating with many urban artists). Lady Gaga - Just Dance in early 2009 kicked off the RedOne electropop sound.

I believe this was Sport Relief, not Comic Relief (which only occurs in odd-numbered years). And I wasn't aware of the Shapeshifters' US name-change!

Dance Chart Number Ones 2000 - 2009
Cha Cha Slide was the first #1 not to enter the chart at that position since Bob The Builder's Can We Fix It over 3 years earlier (although DJ Otzi's Hey Baby was listed as a climber from 45-1 at the time due to the chart compilers' software being unable to separate the import and domestic releases).

The chorus of this song is sampled from 5th Dimension's Aquarius - Let The Sun Shine In (#11 in 1969). The vocalist on the Milk & Sugar remake is Lizzy Pattinson, the sister of actor Robert Pattinson.

For some reason I always thought that it was Junior and Senior themselves who did the vocals on this, with the younger-sounding Junior doing the singing and the older-sounding Senior doing the rap (hence their names).
