The Suedehead Chart Commentary
There was a close call on w/e 4/1/03, where the only change in the top 10 was #2 and #3 (One True Voice and The Cheeky Girls) swapping places.

OCC: 15 Best Selling Singles by European Acts
Unforgettable? I don't recall either Blue or Blue (both of whom were from the UK) ever recording this... And they do seem to have excluded the UK from Europe.

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
Thanks to all for a great thread! An utterly bizarre song to finish with, with an equally bizarre title (it seems to mean 'those who know a lot about a little vs those who know a little about a lot').

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
I think I have all of them. I won't post them, but I have just noticed something interesting about one of them, namely that . Interesting trivia about King Of My Castle - I believe it broke the record for longest top 40 hit title that contained no letter more than once. Up Rocking Beats by Bomfunk MC's equalled the record the following year.

Confusion over midweek missing data
There was a post on UKMix a couple of weeks ago suggesting that Justin Timberlake would have been #1 a couple of weeks ago if the correct streaming data had been included.

OCC Flashback: P!nk scored her first UK hit 16 years ago
This chart was the week after Sia's chart debut. In addition to the 2 Boyzone members debuting in the same week, one of Shane Lynch's sisters debuted as half of Buffalo G (he also had 2 other sisters in B*Witched). This chart had a new entry called Around The World at #26 - the following week saw Northern Line chart at #27 with All Around The World. Curiously, the late part of 2001 saw 3 'around the world' songs reach the lower part of the top 30 (Super Furry Animals, A*Teens, Marti Pellow), the first two of which charted in consecutive weeks. This chart had a new entry from the band Embrace - the following week would see a new entry for a song called Embrace (Agnelli & Nelson at #35). Doves were remarkably consistent with their peaks in 2000 - their 3 hits that year (of which this was the second) peaked at #33, #32, and #32. The Dandy Warhols hit was followed-up by Bohemian Like You, which charted at #42. Both tracks were re-issued in 2001/02, with Bohemian Like You reaching #5 and Get Off reaching #34.

"Sorry" by Justin Bieber sets UK streaming record
The 100m might be referring to total streams, not just chart-eligible streams (10 streams per user per day or whatever it is).

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
The Vengaboys song was the 4th #1 in 6 years to contain 'Boom' in its title (after Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince, Outhere Brothers, and Shaggy).

Not sure about the week at #12 - there was definitely a bigger track that week that topped the UK dance chart (amongst others!).

Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
In terms of total sales, New Radicals and TLC would be much bigger (as Flat Beat would have done hardly anything on downloads).
-
Dance Chart Number Ones 1990 - 1999
New Radicals - You Get What You Give was also released that week - interesting that out of the 5 new entries in the top 7 that week, the 2 lowest of them (New Radicals and TLC) went on to become the biggest overall and by far the most remembered.

And there was also Meja who charted around about the same time (although she looked totally different).

The Freeloaders (who according to Wikipedia were the guys behind N-Trance) track reached the top 10 over 2 years after Thomas Bangalter & DJ Falcon's version charted at #71 (some sources credit it to Together).

When Music Sounds Better With You charted, the video had not yet been made, so TOTP showed a video of some guy miming to the track. Alan Braxe of Stardust hit the top 40 in 2000 together with Fred Falke on the #35 hit Intro.

Two weeks before The Lighthouse Family's Lost In Space charted, Electrasy charted (at #60) with another song called Lost In Space. Apollo Four Forty had had a top 15 hit only 4 weeks earlier, with a re-working of Jean Michel Jarre's Rendez-Vous (titled Rendez-Vous 98).

10 years ago today...
On this day 10 years ago (2 April 2006), history was made as Crazy by Gnarls Barkley became the first track to reach #1 on downloads alone. It was only the 4th week of tracks being able to chart on downloads the week prior to their physical release. It would be over 9 months before it would happen again (Mika - Grace Kelly), but obviously it soon became a regular thing. Top 40 plus other notables: 1 (-) Gnarls Barkley - Crazy 2 (1) Ne-Yo - So Sick 3 (-) Morrissey - You Have Killed Me 4 (2) Embrace - Nature's Law 5 (3) Orson - No Tomorrow 6 (28) Kooks - Naive 7 (7) Black Eyed Peas - Pump It 8 (-) Streets - When You Wasn't Famous 9 (6) Pussycat Dolls ft will.i.am - Beep 10 (4) Pink - Stupid Girls 11 (5) Corinne Bailey Rae - Put Your Records On 12 (-) Depeche Mode - Suffer Well 13 (11) Sean Paul - Temperature 14 (9) Kanye West ft Lupe Fiasco - Touch The Sky 15 (15) Feeling - Sewn 16 (10) Sugababes - Red Dress 17 (-) Michael Jackson - The Way You Make Me Feel 18 (8) Chico - It's Chico Time 19 (-) Mary J Blige & U2 - One 20 (14) Madonna - Sorry 21 (-) Editors - All Sparks 22 (-) Milburn - Send In The Boys 23 (17) Notorious BIG ft Diddy, Nelly, Jagged Edge & Avery Storm - Nasty Girl 24 (21) Beverley Knight - Piece Of My Heart 25 (12) Meck ft Leo Sayer - Thunder In My Heart Again 26 (20) Joey Negro - Make A Move On Me 27 (19) Ray J - One Wish 28 (-) Various Artists - A Tribute To Jinky 29 (-) Royal Ballet Sinfonia with Gavin Sutherland - Radio 4 UK Theme 30 (24) Nelly ft Paul Wall, Ali & Gipp - Grillz 31 (26) Source ft Candi Staton - You Got The Love 32 (-) Automatic - Raoul 33 (13) Girls Aloud - Whole Lotta History 34 (27) Kelly Clarkson - Walk Away 35 (-) Pipettes - Your Kisses Are Wasted On Me 36 (23) Massive Attack - Live With Me 37 (30) Jack Johnson - Better Together 38 (22) MVP - Bounce, Shake, Move, Stop! 39 (18) Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Gold Lion 40 (34) Chris Brown ft Juelz Santana - Run It! 43 (-) Prince - Black Sweat 57 (-) Secret Machines - Lightning Blue Eyes 63 (-) Andy Abraham - Hang Up 71 (-) David Gray - Alibi 74 (re) Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc 75 (re) Sigur Ros - Hoppipolla The only other track in the chart that had not yet been physically released was the Mary J Blige & U2 track (it jumped up to #2 the following week). #17 was part of a series of Michael Jackson re-issues, with one track being re-issued per week for 19 weeks, all charting between #11 and #34 inclusive. #21 was the first Editors track only to be released once - their previous releases (Bullets, Munich, and Blood) were all released, and all charted, twice. #28 was a re-packaging of a single that reached #46 in 2004 - Dirty Old Town / The Road To Paradise (credited to Bhoys From Paradise). It was the second 'Various Artists' track to reach #28 in the space of a few months, following a version of Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've). It had a strange chart run - 3 weeks in the top 35, then it dropped straight out of the top 75. #29 was a re-recording of a medley of UK folk tunes that used to be played daily on BBC Radio 4. It featured the second Gavin Sutherland to chart, following one half of 1970s duo The Sutherland Brothers. #32 was re-issued in 2007, reaching #30. #75 had charted at #35 17 weeks earlier - it spent the next few weeks outside the top 40 before a re-issue allowed it to re-peak at #24.

The Retro Suedehead Chart Commentary
No mention of this being the first ever download-only top 40 hit? Sadly I fear you may be right... In terms of time between first and last hits, he has outlasted the similarly-named Bow Wow Wow (whose early hits were about the aforementioned cassette). One other thing that happened this week was The Modern - Industry being disqualified from the top 40 after a relative of one of the band members bought 150 copies of the single. A great read as usual, and a good indication of how much more action there was back in those days!
