  2. All the longest songs in one semi?

  4. Loud 100% but GGGB too - though Umbrella does a lot of the heavy lifting there (generally inescapable, the ‘Rihanna curse’, her brand of umbrellas etc). That said, the album marked a clear shift in her image and sound which continued throughout the rest of her music career so I guess the era as a whole was significant.
  5. So we’re looking at 30 songs per semi? Fantastic news for my hopes of qualifying. Great turnout though.
  6. Confirmed something I actually have a bit of confidence in for once.
  7. The gays won’t be happy if Tom leaves us this soon. (Especially myself as I’m his mentor obvs )
  8. SMASH. 🥹
  9. Is that you confirming you’re a solo female? 👀
  10. It would appease Lee at least.
  11. Rhydian can just turn up to sing Get The Party Started at the start of each round.
  12. That would be so camp! Exactly... unless it's up against something like Murder On The Dancefloor. OT but I was so tempted to send Sophie pre-season just so Murder could get me through the assumed battle round. I wonder if Sophie's mentor had the same thought process.
  13. The Buzzjack Factor sounds a little corny ngl.
  14. Elton made it to 11th place in season 1 while Bowie made it to 9th place in season 2. Can this year's Old Man™ break a PF record?
  15. Tbf I doubt an Alt Factor or Dance Factor would have the same pull as this contest so I think it makes sense to include non-Pop acts. Also a reminder G4 came second on X Factor lmao!
  16. I actually don't think Dido being eliminated this round is that bad for her. She has a certain collab up her sleeve that could hoover up the votes in the Gamu round. The same goes for Calvin (even though the Males aren't as seemingly clearcut): he has a handful of superstar collabs that could also destroy the competition. Depends if people would consider their usage as cheating.
  17. Tbf other males have used collabs in previous rounds (Darin, HRVY to name a couple). I don't blame team Calvin after being robbed of Promises last round lmao.
  18. Crazy turn of events if a Tinashe feature knocks Calvin out the competition while the old man sails through! Oh I see!
  19. This is news to me. How so? Must've been a dry few months.
  20. I changed my entry last night btw. Turns out I'm having another indecisive month. Settled for something a bit Lana-esque (hopefully that comparison doesn't come back to bite me lol).
  21. 01 Sam Smith - Lose You Sam's very best hidden gem! Their voice sounds SO good on a yearning track like this imo. How tf wasn't this pushed as a single?? 02 Roosevelt - Forget there's something so alluring about his choices so far and this is no different. Love it! 03 Sam Fender - The Treadmill another brilliant track from Fender. He can do no wrong between his anguished storytelling and the Springsteen influences that always shine through. Love! 04 Darin - Om du var min my favourite Darin song so far! Sounds really good to my ears. 05 Gary Numan - M.E. enjoyed this one - those synth effects were lush. It reminds me of a late 60s track but can't place it immediately. 06 Tom Grennan - If Only sounded a bit nondescript at first but improved with subsequent listens. His voice is fab! 07 Lewis Capaldi - Heavenly Kind of State of Mind another solid choice from Lewis. Catchy, melodic, great vocals as usual. 08 HRVY - Never Be Us this is good but has little replay value for me. 09 Damien Rice - Amie this just isn't my cuppa I'm afraid. Not bad by any stretch though. x 10 Calvin Harris feat. Tinashe - Dollar Signs beautiful gowns. x (probably a smart choice tbf with the current Tinashe hype but I'd happily not listen to this ever again lol)
  22. 01 Agnes - Loaded fab-u-lous discovery. The production, the vocals, the chorus - YES. Definitely getting You Oughta Know vibes from that chorus! 02 MARINA - Teen Idle one of the standouts from Electra Heart. The fact this was not even a promo single is craziness. Love the lyrics to this one. 03 Leona Lewis - Outta My Head very smart choice Team LeLe. A glorious up-tempo that takes me right back to 2009. 04 Robyn - Time Machine really enjoyed this one by Robyn. Another song where the production really elevates it. 05 Sophie Ellis-Bextor - New York City Lights this was another fun, breezy number by Sophie. 06 Kate Bush - Reaching Out not my favourite song of this round but the vocal performance is a slay! 07 Jessie Ware - The Kill much prefer this to her previous choice. 08 Zara Larsson - Blue Moon oops will Zara ever climb my rankings? lol. Another good choice, just struggles to compete with the songs above. 09 Dido - Mary’s in India ahh! I feel for Dido's mentor because this isn't a bad song by any means but maybe far too lowkey to be played up against all these Buzzjack darlings? Idk. Anyway, very pleasant! 10 Adele - Can I Get It really not my thing (especially that whistly chorus eww) but I can appreciate the diversity Adele is showing at least.
  23. Johanne needs to stay to humble everyone else.
