Oooooh liking this a lot! More understated than I thought it’d be but so damn catchy. She’s also serving as per in the video.

So we’re all in agreement I should’ve changed my entry before the deadline. Fab.

Plastic Box is just divine. She knew the assignment with that one and delivered! Also confirmation she well and truly knows her fanbase. 🤭 Angel had to win really. FLAWLESS in all its genre-bending, tempo-fluctuating glory. and the video is arguably the best Pop music video of the last decade at least?! Thanks Tafty for hosting this! ❤️ Loved your commentaries throughout.

Misfit! ❤️

Voted! Can’t say I loved that semi tbh but there were a few gems at least.

Geri. She should have stopped releasing solo music in 2000.

I actually enjoy this far more today than I did at the time. A fun throwback. ❤️ Too Little Too Late is by far my absolute JoJo fave though.

I remember becoming so invested in Alexandra during her season on ‘that show’ - the way she went from bookies favourite pre-Live Shows to being firmly least favourite in her category for the first 7 live shows, then to turn it around with an emotional performance of Listen. Then THAT duet! Such a shame her potential was never realised. Start Without You is trash though. I absolutely stanned California Gurls/Katy at the time but it quickly got boring. As you said Iz, it’s a shame her one UK #1 from such a behemoth of an era (momentarily ignoring the deluxe) is arguably the weakest of the 6 singles. That singles run from Teenage Dream to TOTGA was flawless!

Crazy In Love was my summer ‘03 obsession! The song, the video, Bey’s dancing on the pavement and then with the giant fan - the amount of times my little gay self tried to recreate the video. It’s become so overplayed though I don’t get much enjoyment from it. Phenomenal solo career-launching single (if we forget Work It Out momentarily).

Come on Angel! (Love both)

There was a time I was OBSESSED with this. I probably prefer On My Knees now but it’s still enjoyable enough. Teardrops was done so dirty - it didn’t deserve to be the song to kill their career. Their short chart history was weirdly similar to Stooshe: #4 debut, #3 more poppy second hit followed by an ill-advised not-completely-original ballad that tanks and misses the top 20. 😲

Yep ‘bop’ is literally there just as a Pop Idol pun lol.

Yay Romania!

Ok the UK has a lot of company so far lmao.

Awful result for the UK ouch!!

Australia 2nd!! Israel falling. Edit: spoke too soon 💀

Yeah I fear it’s going to happen sooner or later. 😞

Come through Armenia!

Delta isn’t too far behind first tbf.

Yay Bulgaria!

Wake Me Up is one of my all-time GA faves. Such an effortlessly cool, sassy track for a talent show act at the time!

It’s dragging so much.

Hopefully any of my top 6 (or the UK lol) can snatch the win but kinda willing for Delta to do it. Maybe it might inspire some British legends to represent the UK next year. 😂 Sweden Bulgaria Australia Cyprus Romania Denmark France Czechia Italy UK Finland Norway Belgium Malta Greece Poland Germany Croatia Albania Lithuania Ukraine Austria Serbia Moldova
