She was a bit freaked out over its overwhelmingly positive reception, yet quickly realized it meant people were ready to see her make choices. But after the song dropped in July 2024, the album didn’t debut until September 2025. Well, that’s modern music biz, baby! It’s not what JADE would have preferred, but certain “boring industry things” were a factor (we’re still dealing with physical production delays), plus not having the luxury of more established artists, who know their people and can corral them for a three-week intensive. JADE wanted to assemble the best team possible and ensure the songwriting felt genuine to her. She’s surprised when I clutch my pearls upon learning that people in the studio will often force a bad or trivial suggestion just to get their name in the credits. She avoided this by handpicking Little Mix collaborators, like MNEK, who “live and breathe pop” and know how to push her.
