It’s pretty uneventful but decent enough. Lmao @ “J Lo’s helpers”. 😂

Dip It Low?

That doesn’t begin to compensate for the rest (bar Rhydian).

Zara having 3 US top 40 hits in 2026 wowww.

Heroes (the cover) is a turd and I agree - the worst XF cast charity track which says a lot. X Factor was undoubtedly at its popularity peak this year but I found the cast pretty weak considering. It wasn’t quite 2007/2009 level crap but there were quite a few gimmicky acts in the live shows (Jedward effect?) and a lot of favouritism regardless of performance (Katie, Cher). Then the last-minute semi-final sing off engineered to get Cher to the final…! 💀

BBC NewsStrictly Come Dancing: Five pros to leave the show as lin...Five members of the show's professional line-up, including the long-serving Karen Hauer, are leaving. I remember TCIA freefalling on iTunes throughout its first week and it actually seeming like a possibility that they might miss the top spot by Sunday. In the end they were comfortably ahead IIRC. The song was a complete miss in my book. Horrible auto tune, horrible sample, horrible lyrics.

Can Netflix bag it and we get a Spice revival in the charts? 🙏

Would be amazing if we can beat our previous best of 31 participants!

I’m a summer late!

This is fantastic news! Hopefully season two is coming later this year, or is that wishful thinking?

There was a time I quite liked this but it’s not one I ever consider playing these days. At least she still has Play to come.

Didn’t she confirm it’s not actually rock music just title only?

They really followed RAYE’s school of thought with this second single option. 💀 Give us more bops!

Oh! This is soon!

Praying Midnight Sun can cling on to the top 10 come Friday. 🙏 Hands down my song of the summer.

The Saturdays. Is it too much to hope for a Ms Dynamite/LeAnn/Amy/Ciara top 4? 🙏

Backstreet Boys

Cheiron is going Nordic electro-pop for 185. 🇳🇴

Congrats on the win dandy*! And thanks for the fab hosting Chez! I did as well as I expected… not very. I thought I struck gold with 1996 but then soon realised I had too much to choose from! Thanks to the few of you who gave some points to Shakira nonetheless. ❤️🥲

(I knew the theme anyway obv but) HYPE!! 2006 was and will always be an iconic year musically for me. ❤️ So very happy we get to deep dive back into it! Sent my entry though I can’t promise I won’t reconfirm. 🤭

Yep that can get in the bin (along with Corden)!

I fear My Prerogative will be an early exit but I hope not - it’s such a strong (and fitting) cover imo.

There were some absolute crackers hitting the top this year (one by an act mentioned in the OP) and some absolute dross. Will be fun to follow! Will JLS or Alexandra show up first?
