Kylie Minogue Notches First Top 10 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart With ‘Padam Padam’ https://www.billboard.com/pro/kylie-minogue...s-chart-top-10/ The track, which introduces Minogue’s album Tension, due Sept. 22, earned 1.6 million official streams (up 15%) and sold 1,000 downloads in the United States in the May 26-June 1 tracking week, according to Luminate. In the UK in the same week she got 13k streaming equivalent sales, which is more or less 1.5 million streams. So basically Kylie is getting the same, if not more, amount of streams in the USA as in UK, despite nowhere to be seen in the main charts.

Chart Campaign: Kylie Minogue 'Padam Padam' - Top 10!
I think this is doable, but it will all come down to how effective their small download campaign was today on the website. She needs like 1.5k sales extra at very least. But I’m a bit more optimistic than yesterday actually.

Padam Padam: Week 4 Chart Predictions
I voted fall: streaming should grow by another 1-1.5k, but the sales will fall to 2-2.5k from whatever they will end up being this week (but at very least 5k).

Given that Kylie has made (very dodgy) videos on socials promoting the purchases of PP from her website, right now the point is to attract the sales from there. But she needs to hire a decent SMM / content manager! Like this is not working: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZM2rq4Fde/

Thank you! So it looks like the top-10 is still within a reaching distance, the question is how many sales will be reported tomorrow from the website. I think Trojan Horse will be at around 21k tomorrow, also beatable depending on how many CDs and downloads will be reported today.

Chart Campaign: Kylie Minogue 'Padam Padam' - Top 10!
The thing is, Kylie gained 2.6k streams in yesterday’s update and only 1.6k in today’s update. There seems to be an extra day of unreported streams missing, which makes everything harder to predict. Looking for 2.5k downloads, 15.5k (??) streams and at very least 2.5k CDs tomorrow, unless more got dispatched today. This puts to 20.5k tally. Trojan Horse (which also has extra streaming losses compared to yesterday due to unreported data) will gain at least 8k tomorrow, so it’s gonna be very close. And we have other big streamers which were there the whole week too.

Thanks guys! I see No Sleeep gave 12.5k sales for Trojan Horse in the Chart Forum, up 4k. BUT we are again definitely in for some extra missed streaming points. Argh, it’s probably gonna be super close.

Seems like yes, we are due a big increase of CDs tomorrow, but how big? Who knows? I really wonder where Dave Cee tracks are today.

Something sketchy with streaming again. Yesterday she gained 2.6k on streaming and today only 1.5k? Those bloody late reports! Edit: also only 60 CD sales added.

At least here we know they’re 100% authentic? Lol

Padam has 5.2k videos on Tiktok. But Altego’s mashup of Padam / Head is on 11.6k!

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
Hannah Laing — Good Love up to 19, Weeknd / Playboy Carti / Madonna back up big to 22 from 34. Jorja Smith also up to 25.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
^ No, the highest is 137k last Friday. Seems she gets big streaming boosts every Friday due to excellent placements in some dance / party playlists and overall being a dance song.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
Dave still occupies the top-3, but ‘Our 25th Birthday’ is down to 7. Kylie up to 49. Hopefully it solidifies her in the top-50 for the whole next week.

You jinxed it  Apparently it’s at 12 today. Up to 49 on Spotify though, looking for another streaming gain next week.

Friday Chart Predictions
At very least one of them will almost definitely be in the top-10. The highest new track ‘Trojan Horse’ sold 8k for essentially just 1 day of streams, unless Apple Music reported on time. And the second day’s hold was very decent too.

Right now I see her at 42 on Hot Hits! At least 22 places too low but eh, what can we do. Hopefully once/if it establishes itself in the top-50, they'll move her up.

:D I don't know why it is such a never ending sport of clashing the female popstars against each other.

Padam Padam: Week 3 Chart Predictions
Streaming gained a lot! I’d say on Friday we will have around 16-17k on streaming, 2.5-3k downloads, 3k CDs. Overall 22-23k. Ugh, so many weeks it would BY FAR been enough to reach the top-10. 🥲

Nah I don't think any remix will match the original, and I bloody hope they don't do a rapper remix or smth to reach American audiences (but that one would be the only one which could outperform the original). If they want, they can leave it for single 2 and make in the main mix (although won't be able to be put in her vinyls and probably other physical formats). Regardless of anything it looks very likely it will get at least 9 weeks in the top-40. If it dodged ACR, it could be even more. Only these have 9 or more weeks in the top-40: Can't Get You Out of My Head 20 Wow 16 I Should Be So Lucky 13 Higher 13 Especially for You (with Jason Donovan) 12 Got to Be Certain 10 Kids (with Robbie Williams) 10 2 Hearts 10 All The Lovers 10 The Loco-motion 9 Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi 9 Hand on Your Heart 9 Better the Devil You Know 9 Only 9 have 10 or more weeks in the top-40 and 13 have 9 or more weeks in the top-40. Despite 'Padam Padam' not reaching the heights or these singles, it will become one of the longest running singles of hers.

Friday Chart Predictions
Oh my :D 1. Kylie has excellent radio support, they're pretty much fully on board and I won't be surprised if it reaches 1 on airplay this week! 2. Streaming support is ok and could be better, she's doing well, but not outstandingly well considering. 3. I'll be happy if more artists release the CDs, as I find it really cool. But releasing the CD that would cost 7 quid with postage is not the same as releasing a CD for 99p also with postage! The latter they are clearly doing at a loss, it is called dumping and for sure is a sketchy tactic. There's a reason albums that cost less than 3 quid don't go in the main album chart.

Sadly I just don’t see it being top-10 at all this week. It could have survived anything else, but Dave getting 8k from essentially just one day of streams will push PP down. Wrong week to release physicals, like we said.

Yes, the sales in the higher part of the charts are going to be insane compared to most of the year so far. I really hope the Dave tracks slow down and don't trouble the top-15 this week.

Padam Padam ● 1st single
Regardless of where it ends up this week, I’ll be very happy with a top-20 peak, and I can see it easily going Gold and eventually Platinum and cementing the number two streaming track for Kylie. Just before the start of an era I said I didn’t care much about chart hits, but it would be amazing if we got a song with 100m Spotify streams by the end of the era. We are getting that and much more, so I’m very happy. And if it continues rising after this week, that will just add to the excitement.

Friday Chart Predictions
Not sure it’ll hold to top-15, since we will have the two new Dave x Central Cee tracks. They’ll definitely debut high on Spotify, but if they free-fall after that, it might not be enough to enter the top-20. But still, it’s a possibility. Very busy weeks in the singles charts! Oh and I totally concur with what gooddelta wrote about the ageist state of Radio 1 in particular. There are many reasons why it is not influential as before, and most of them frankly cannot be influenced by themselves (shift to streaming / social media), but they definitely added a lot to their disguise by trying too hard and therefore failing. Yes, they aren’t by far as influential as before, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be called out for that.
