I’m not even going to try, as my date is third to last (Mexico City), only followed by two other Mexican dates :lol: From what I saw in the setlist, I’d be happier with more Tension 1 (and ditch the Alok track). And the most random track award went to Monday Blues lol.

Listened to it, I actually like it! But definitely could have lived without it either. I agree she needs a bit of a break and more quality, no quantity output.

I think they should just release a chord as a song and call it a day!

Yeah, I also loved that one. Still haven't listened to the new one bar Sao Paulo which I like. If it's on par with Dawn FM, I'll probably be sold!

Funnily enough, despite a lazy remix, it did exactly enough what it was supposed to do. :lol: Don't expect it to chart anywhere, even if off the TV show, but hopefully the streaming for the song (one version or another) will be decent this year.

That said, for Kylie standards that's an excellent debut. Outside of 'Head' the older (non-Tenstion II) tracks lost 94m streams in 2024 compared to 2023. 'Head' alone gained 56m streams year-to-year, which compensated for the most of the downfall of the rest of the songs. 1B mark for '... Head' looks very achievable within 2-3 years! Hopefully it stays in steam. Taking into consideration the new album, Kylie obviously gained in streams in 2024, accumulating 673m streams in Spotify in 2024, compared to 611m in 2023. Hopefully the tour manages to stabilise the situation for the whole ground in 2025 and hopefully have some healthy boosts all across the discography? Happy for 'Tension' the song clinging to the top-10 for the second year, even if it deserves 5 times more streams (and beyond) than it got. The last shout-out is to 'Higher' which gained in streams in 2024, which allowed it to cross 100m as an individual track just by the new year of 2025. 'In Your Eyes' is next, and cumulatively with all of the Spotify versions it's almost there anyway!

But 'A Second to Midnight' fell even harder, making the way back to 'Magic' as the biggest 'DISCO' track. Still not the biggest faller - which is 'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town' that lost two thirds of its 2023 streams. I can only, once again with the Christmas songs, imagine that it is due to the hectic playlisting from year to year. Special mentions to 'I Believe in You' and 'Come into My World' that, as well as the already mentioned 'Vegas High', climbed in streams yet still fell in positions due to the new entries that we are going to observe in the top-20.

Got the tickets for Mexico City on 22nd Aug! Hopefully will manage to go. The good tickets are almost sold-out and they were quite heavy! I don’t think she will add any more dates here though. The schedule is tight and she has two more dates, as Mexico was blessed with Guadalajara and Monterrey dates too, which was a very nice surprise!

‘Shoulda Left Ya’ grew on me too! I think you can make a perfect 16-track Kylie album from both, maybe even her best ever or at very least top-3. I wish all of these sessions happened before Tension I, where Padam felt like an outlier, while now she delivered more of that sound — but without the depth of some of the “non-EDM” tracks, like Hold on To Now or Story. But BMG had already planned everything before the Padam release, and all of those sessions wouldn’t have happened without its success. Plus, commercially it is more profitable to release two proper albums instead of one with an “Anthology”-like release. And well, we got two full albums of Kylie’s music in a space of one year!

Someone for Me slaps hard, shame it is probably going to be overlooked! Taboo stood out to me too, nothing else that much on the first listen, but I’ll obviously give it more goes.

It is actually Sophie Muller! I loved the Tension video too. I feel Sophie knows how to do a very good job, it’s just she usually has a very strict budget from the artists she works with.

I think we should really, really get behind this one. It's clear they threw a lot at this single to be at least a minor hit, and I don't want her to go back to "small" releases if this one underperforms, especially after the MOM bad performance!

Actually I was also thinking Timebomb somehow! Love Timebomb, so it’s a really good thing to me. Don’t expect anything big chart-wise, I’ll just be happy receiving new music so soon and with a tour hopefully in Mexico too before July!

I don’t have the data to prove my theory, but I genuinely think that Spotify has recalibrated their algorithms in the past year or so, that the big songs have become even bigger through the passive streaming (not only the playlists — but also the suggested tracks, auto play etc.)

I don’t know where you get overproduced vocals! Sounds pretty natural, even if a bit nasal, to me. Especially feels natural after ‘My Oh My’ — now that’s where the vocals got a tad overproduced!

I think it's gonna be a bit flash-in-the pan (and anyway, the sound isn't really super commercial) - but regardless, it has done its job and also brought her a number one, which is super deserving for this era!

I know I’ll sound pessimistic but at this point I’ll be happy with more than a week in the top-100 :( And it’s not even down to a song — I love it — it seems that for an English speaking song exactly this year it has become significantly harder to break through on Spotify locally in the UK, if it’s not big in USA / internationally.
