I kinda think it’s a dead cert for a top-40 now, with the price reduction today and climbs on AM / Spotify! Now I hope for a top-30 debut

I saw the reports of it being in the A-list Pop too!

Padam Padam Chart Success?
I think at this point we are talking between ‘Padam Padam’ at something like 39 or at 45. And that’s where it gets even more annoying. Sure, it has the potential to peak on streaming later, but that might mean lingering around #70 for a while. So once it has a chance — I would grab it! But looks like BMG are invested now too, so hopefully they throw one extra version by Thursday if they see the top-40 is on the cards.

Yep, I’d defo put another version up there — anything that the fans can buy extra, even instrumental. It could be a difference below 500 sales points to get to the top-40!

!!! I didn’t expect that at this point. I wish Spotify backed her more too.

Padam Padam Chart Success?
Sure, the charts aren’t as influential as they were used to be, but I’d say a top-40 debut is a financially good prospect, as it still creates quite a bit of extra buzz and can open more doors later, including heavier playlisting.

Padam Padam Chart Success?
I’m not at all surprised PP gained on sales only a bit, despite being marginally higher on iTunes. In July 2020 the overall paid-for sales were around 480-500k for the week. Last week they were just 303k for the whole paid-for sales singles market. So she represents a pretty much twice as big of a share in the singles sales market compared to Say Something.

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
I don’t think ‘As It Was’ will go to ACR at very least by autumn at this point: its consumption is flat, and any good weather will provoke people to go out and play “hits” on some standard Spotify playlist. Plus the tour.

Padam Padam Chart Success?
Actually too-40 might be doable if BMG AND the UK fanbase bother with it.

Kylie 2023 Promo/Appearances
Love how Kylie started to randomly dance away during a promo photoshoot and Katy kinda brought her back. @1660467847217270786

I wish there was more Padam (Padam), but the performance was a serve anyway. She really enjoyed performing it, the voice was very warm and playful.

Padam Padam Chart Success?
I actually can see it cracking the top-75 this week! The streaming is ok, she has been much stronger than Say Something on iTunes, and that got to 81. And what Say Something didn’t have for that week is the video release, which proves to gain quite a few streams too. I know the downloads overall got much weaker in 3 years, but it is compensated by higher position.

It is 1,049,051 streams! Well done!!!

iTunes, Streaming & YouTube
Yes, 188 with 8k streams and I see another #121 in Australia (47k streams). So overall at least 150k streams just from these three for yesterday on Spotify. Should do 500k+, but I don’t think it will reach 1m with the figures revealed today.

iTunes, Streaming & YouTube
So Padam Padam got 91,121 streams yesterday in the UK. I don’t have Dancing first two weeks figures at hand, as they weren’t posted in the Spotify thread. Maybe in the individual thread which I will check later. Meanwhile on Friday 24th July Say Something entered the Spotify chart at 169 with 62,527 streams. For reference, number 104 (Circles by Post Malone) had 80,520 streams. And Dancing entered at 77 on Friday 19th January with 82,335 streams. Number 104 (One Last Song by Sam Smith) back in the day had 66,720 streams. If we use a number 104 position as a marker of the market, we have a 29% growth on ‘Say Something’ and 23% fall on ‘Dancing’, but the latter had a very good NMF support AND a Friday release. But for sure on Apple Music the result is very good. I hope it holds up!

Bumping the Say Something figures of the first two weeks: 1st day: 344,033 2nd day: 387,715 3rd day: 237,216 4th day: 169,755 5th day: 182,765 6th day: 164,893 7th day: 156,651 8th day: 146,181 9th day: 117,468 10th day: 100,430 11th day: 76,977 12th day: 84,727 13th day: 86,958 14th day: 88,033 If Padam Padam follows the same pattern, it will get around 480k for Friday.

Nah, #200 is on around 66k streams and it wasn’t there. So it’s no more than that.

Now we have a Capaldi bomb though, but it’s not gonna be as significant. But yeah, hopefully a top-100 tomorrow! Edit: also we need to take into account that it wasn’t a full day for her!

The Guardian: "is the UK album chart broken?"
That sums it up. The labels are happy with high first weeks, as it gives them headlines. Then they simply don’t care. Neither will that head of OCC. Maybe if ‘The Highlights’ becomes the multi-week #1 they will think (because it will deny them these headlines). But it is not strong enough. Maybe once Ed releases his Greatest Hits… imagine :D surely it would easily grab 10k+ “sales” each week?

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
According to Liam, ‘Say Something’ actually lingered in the Apple Music top-200 for the first five days of its release. Padam is up to 85 now anyway!

Oh thank you! I didn’t think it charted at all. That means so far she is doing roughly the same on Apple Music. But obviously overperforming on YouTube!

Padam Padam ● 1st single
I don’t think Say Something entered Apple Music top-200 before the album?

Good job :D also the video is overperforming my expectations on YouTube.
