Video streams as of last Tuesday: 109k Video streams as of last Wednesday: 133k And assuming that the video streams are mainly free, I’d apply a 500:1 ratio, that means last Wednesday it gained around 50 (!) streams from videos last time. It cannot be that the video streams played any significant role in the week-on-week streaming decline. The only logical explanation is that someone didn’t report a data for yesterday or both yesterday and two days ago, compared just to the previous day in yesterday’s report.

I wouldn’t release anything this week either. I also hope they don’t release the CDs next week, as I see there’s another bank holiday next Monday?? Or am I wrong? But if yes, the streams will be lower again, so I’d concentrate on week 4. And looking at the sales data, I’d say Kylie is coming for around 2.5k downloads and 13k streams for the week. 15.5k would have been enough for #20 last week, but this week is even busier, so I’m not sure anymore. Anyway, I really think it will reach its streaming peak later, so I’m not too fussed.

I really didn’t expect it to fall all the way to 24, but 8k sales for such a position so far is huge. Bank holiday didn’t do any favours either. Tomorrow’s update on Spotify will be important to see where it ends up landing on Friday.

I would determine active streams as streams 1. Listened from an album / EP / single 2. Listened from your own created playlist or library 3. Listened from adding the track to the queue. We can think how to implement repeated plays by pressing “backward” and maybe something else, but the idea is there.

I wouldn’t say it is that UK/IRE/AUS centric. We have Rudimental’s ‘Dancing Is Healing’ released 5 weeks ago, 5 weeks in the chart and climbing to 14 last week and did 175K streams yesterday. And it has 5.4M Spotify streams overall, pretty much just like Kylie in a week.

Amazing, and this is on Sunday when the new music struggles to take off. Now I’m positive it will hit the top-10 on Apple Music on Tuesday/Wednesday??

On the side news I’m dreading REACT being in the top-5/top-3. Can all these lazy samples just stop? :(

Tbh i would either release a big remix on week 4 with the physical release or on week 9 to help avoid ACR, as Kylie is one of the acts that benefits a lot from the charts visibility.

And also due to bank holiday the streams will be hindered too. But I’m still quite content it will go top-20, despite not taking it into account (I simply didn’t know about it hehe).

Streams aren’t counted for an album before its release. After its release the top-2 streamed songs will be down weighted to the average of the rest of the album. So to stick on streaming an artist needs at least 3 streaming hits.

I think if they play their cards right, they could make another top-40 from the album, even if it doesn’t take off later: Streaming will increase regardless; Put the single as song 2 behind Padam in the Padam single package; Prepare something extra to release through the website; Physical release, even if it is again dead expensive. And that should be enough to clear 10-11K! Meanwhile I keep seeing the messages of people exploring Kylie after Padam. It is really doing wonders for the whole catalogue.

Amazing rise in the three key markets. Would love to see the WW figures. I’m also low-key monitoring Brazil’s top-200, since she’s top-20 there on Apple Music, but it’s nowhere to be seen. But Brazil’s Spotify is huge — their number 200 is being streamed 160k times daily.

I think she’s coming at very least for 15k streams and 1k downloads, which is more than enough to get to top-20. And yes, we have Taylor + J-Hus + Dua this week, but also the three ESC tracks will fall out, two of which are in the top-20.

I think a CD on week 4 is a good idea. By then I think it will peak on streaming and will be roughly the best chance to promote it a bit higher. I wish they didn't try to profit off it, and just sell it for 99p, maybe + delivery. Otherwise we will probably have like 1K extra sales, but it still might be enough for borderline positions. I just hope this doesn't propel her to something like #11. <_<

Padam Entered at 147 on weekly top songs in Spotify UK. First BMG release to do so!

So Capaldi at 28 sold 13,061 copies. Extended mix gave Kylie around 1.6k sales, if we suppose that all of the daily sales increase is due to the extended mix release. So without the extended remix Kylie would have still been in the top-30, but at 27-28 instead. Not a big difference, but at least it secured a top-30 debut.

On Wednesday she did 380 downloads. On Thursday 2,029. So I’d say roughly 1,5-1.6k were downloads of the extended mix.

I forgot that they have this division. In the overall Streaming Chart Padam actually entered at 81! https://www.officialcharts.com/charts/streaming-chart/

No, over streaming chart there is no ACR or 3-songs cap. Hence PP not charting there yet and songs like ‘Set Fire to the Rain’, ‘Sweater Weather’ or ‘Wonderwall’ lingering in the bottom of it.

That also means 10,048 streams! Up 2,561 in a day. I know it has more than one day, but regardless, 10k weekly streams is amazing for her! It hasn’t entered the top-100 streaming chart last week, but I looked at the lower part of the streaming chart, and there is seriously some deadwood over there, heaven bless ACR, even if it is kinda broken now!
