  1. Thank you Taro Bellamia, N-Lazone, Lookylion, D’yermak’er for the votes :D so far not doing too badly, but I always fall into the bottom-two right in the end.
  2. Hi :D given our recent track record, anything higher than #41 will be a hit for us
  3. Maybe one of the reasons OCC doesn’t want to rethink the album chart is because without streaming playlists and with excluding compilations streams the sales will look even more dire. But then you can up-weight the remaining streams! As they (actual album streams not from playlists) clearly are worth more.
  4. Thank you for amazing stats, Jay! We all know why this is all happening, but this is still all sad and dire to look at. I hope at some point OCC rethink the way they compile the album chart to highlight which albums, not playlists, people are streaming during the week.
  5. I think what Heidi did back in the day was totally wrong and quite stupid to be honest. I mean it doesn’t need a huge chunk of empathy to realise the consequences of the last original girl and no other than Keisha being kicked out. If it is THAT unbearable, you just split up for good, and now drive into the nonsense of 4.0. But I’m sure the management was also up there, as they had spent a ton of money on making Sweet 7. That said, I think she totally understood how wrong she was, judging by that sobby reunión they had several years later. And Keisha is definitely part of the problem, judging by all the evidence we have. I’m actually not sure Keisha has realised everything she needed to realise on her side though, judging by her latest comment on Heidi. But I am very happy that Mut, Keisha and Siobhan sorted everything out and seem really happy with each other, and that matters the most. Of course with the ageist industry the chances of them being successful again are ridiculously thin, but that doesn’t really depend on the quality of material, which is amazing. But erasing Heidi from history and pretending it’s all and only about the ‘Sacred Three’ is… weird? As most, if not all, gigs that they have these days, they owe to the biggest hits on all of them except for Overload Heidi was part of.
  6. I believe this is one of her very best albums! The whole rollout was excellent, the quality of songs and cohesiveness were on top, and I think Kylie herself grew a lot as an artist making this album.
  7. K it is actually better than I expected from the preview, the production is richer and less mmm flat a la Drag Race? Will definitely give it a few spins out of choice. But hope that the lead single will be significantly better.
  8. Omg in this incarnation it seems I'm destined for bottom 2s  But I love all of the songs I have sent lately and stand by them. B-) Thank you for a very interesting hosting! And happy with the winner, was my high pointer too!
  9. I would back if for a Christmas number one if Ladbaby decides to release something again!
  10. Voted DNC oops. Even if it picks up nice streaming, I think it will be from all over the place(s) and not enough to chart anywhere particularly, unless there’s a nice download infusion to make it to top-100 the first week.
  11. The song’s cool, but it really feels like it will age like milk to me. :(
  12. I definitely agree with those saying that if next time Ed waits 3-4 years before the next album and gathers a lot of material, he may easily come back to long-running number ones. He definitely has a talent of writing huge approachable pop numbers.
  13. Oliver doesn't mean a hit by any means though. His last major release 'Oops' with Karen Harding, released on 20th of Jan 2023, at the moment sits on 2.3m Spotify plays. Nothing spectacular! But it feels this one will receive a bigger Spotify push. And from that on it will depend how it will be received by the streamers, which could go both ways, judging by the snippet.
  14. The fact that it goes to the deluxe edition kinda points out that it’s not going to be the ~main~ sound of the album! And instead it will boost some streaming for the album naturally and chart-wise!
  15. From the preview I’d definitely say it’s a solid 8 out of 10! Has a potential to beat that, once the song is out. Why Wednesday release though!
  16. So I lost 23. FARC / Tyla - Been Thinking (5 points) 22. Danæviia / myst milano. - No Shade (2 points) Thank you guys for voting, I wanted to send a drum and bass entry for a while, and this is one of my favourites which i heard in the past year!
  17. I'm actually having high hopes for SF1, given that many SF2 tracks weren't up to my taste (still liked my top-10 though!)
  18. Ahhh I thought it was mixed! Sorry guys!
  19. Where's the I between H and J? (Great results reveal, Chez!)
  20. That's two of my big pointers our, Arctic Monkeys were on 39 points too! At this point non of my top-3 is in the contention, but #4 and #5 still are!
  21. I wonder, is ‘How Will I Know’ the highest ranked wildcard, or there’s something even higher?
  22. That said, the album chart in such a dire state that it is very hard to get what is 'album chart relevant' these days. These are the albums which have spend from 3 to 52 weeks in the top-100 as of right now: 04 05 04 P!nk ~ Trustfall 05 07 43 Harry Styles ~ Harry's House 07 06 14 SZA ~ SOS 08 08 21 Taylor Swift ~ Midnights 24 33 15 Metro Boomin ~ Heroes & Villains 27 30 32 Eminem ~ Curtain Call 2 28 11 03 Gorillaz ~ Cracker Island 46 49 33 Beyoncé ~ Renaissance 47 50 20 Foo Fighters ~ The Essential Foo Fighters 49 53 18 Ella Henderson ~ Everything I Didn't Say 54 56 40 XXXTentacion ~ Look At Me: The Album 58 55 19 Drake and 21 Savage ~ Her Loss 71 RE 05 Lizzo ~ Special 72 73 09 Clavish ~ Rap Game Awful 77 83 21 Nicki Minaj ~ Queen Radio, Vol. 1 87 RE 39 George Ezra ~ Gold Rush Kid 88 78 49 The Weeknd ~ Dawn FM 89 97 22 Madonna ~ Finally Enough Love 90 98 25 D-Block Europe ~ Lap 5 94 100 42 The Smiths ~ The Sound of The Smiths 95 91 22 The 1975 ~ Being Funny In A Foreign Language From this list some of them are compilations, the others are driven by the streaming. I think I could tell that from the acts that don't do well on the singles front, Gorillaz are still relevant from this list, but then, they'll probably fall out of the top-100 within a month, no more. P!nk and Beyonce's albums are genuine hits, but then again, they did well in the singles. There is simply next to no continued (physical) album sales success anymore. That makes me want to look at the album SALES chart. All of the top-10 is no more than 4 weeks old, with 6 new entries. Looking down, there are lingering classic albums charting for 100+ weeks and the new-ish compilations from classic artists. I see the continued album sales from the new albums from: Harry's House (#11, 43 weeks), Midnights (#23, 21 weeks), Ocean of Me (#24, 6 weeks), Only The Strong Survive by Bruce Springsteen (#32, 18 weeks), Gold Rush Kid by George Ezra (#38, 40 weeks), Gloria by Sam Smith (#41, 7 weeks) Wet Leg by Wet Leg (#43, 49 weeks) There's Nothing But Space, Man (#55, 14 weeks) Seventeen Going Under (#59, 75 weeks) - I included this, as it's his latest album = by Ed Sheeran (#66, 72 weeks) Hugo by Loyle Carner (#67, 10 weeks) Beatopia by Beebadoobee (#69, 10 weeks) So from this list I'd definitely nominate Bruce Springsteen, as he clearly continues selling albums in the long run.
  23. With albums it is indeed tricky, but I’d say 30+k sales first week and then no less than around 10 weeks in the top-100? Or smaller initial sales but a longer tail. That should rule out the legacy acts which only sell on week 1.
  24. You have to print the vinyls though, and it’s not such a fast thing to do. Realistically we will see the album in September at earliest.
  25. I actually like all of the songs in the top-50, except for Sowing the Seeds of Love. I like ‘Acapella’ too, but it’s just weaker than the rest of the pack. I’m a bit surprised that Metallica and Monkees ended this high in the end!
